You walk through the station and out to the track (Gate 11 per the signage; Track 29 in the song). It was cool to see what the old depot was like. It had an elevated platform to look into one of the old passenger cars. Old passenger cars are now lined up in the back of the area which serve as overnight room stays. There are various activities on the grounds and people selling items under tents (like a flea market). Some history markers are on the grounds also highlighting the Chattanooga Choo Choo's past. But both were fantastic. I did not think the bolognese would satisfy my appetite, it was filling, but I did t want to be hungry an hour later and the steak with salad deliciously helped. My wife had the herb crusted salmon, chive-pepper-corn couscous ragout, fried basil. And there was a lot of couscous, probably a cup and a half if not two cups. This too was delicious. I was intrigued by one menu item we did not try for $25 as an appetizer, deep fried egg yolks with crème fraiche and caviar. I know to get that, the yolks must be frozen, then breaded and fried to be crisp on the outside but runny yolk inside. I couldn't interest my wife in this adventure, but someone else try them and let us know? Staff were all very hospitable. Free valet parking for a couple of hours, right at the entrance in fact. Value was reasonable and good quality, quantity and flavors were very good. It didn't blow us away, but we were not disappointed. The only crazy thing was $14 for a small pour on a glass of Chardonnay, but that's the way it goes for dining out nowadays. This was a decent choice for our dinner out while visiting Chattanooga.
