After more than a month of cleaning out a cluttered, unfinished garage, I was ready for drywall. I…read morecontacted a few businesses, and their prices were way too high. I called owner Jessie of Menifee Drywall Construction, provided him measurements and photos of the garage, and he provided a quote right away. The price was just right! Other businesses were charging 2x the cost, and that was without insulation. We even have a little extra money to do a couple of things for the garage. Jessie is a great communicator. He responds to emails and texts. He is very flexible with scheduling as well. When it came to the start date, Jessie sent an ETA text, and continued to do this for each day of the project. Jessie did more work than planned. For example, he noticed that the framing where the studs are were a bit off. He reinforced the framing by adding additional pieces of wood, and also added some shims to keep the ceiling level. He even shaved down the studs that were sticking out more on the walls. This extensive work added a couple of extra days to the project completion date, but I was not upset about it. As what was requested, Jessie added an attic access door. I even asked if he could patch up the bigger holes in the wall that wasn't being touched. To my surprise, he fixed not just the big holes, but all the little ones too, which I was planning to do myself. He also drywalled the tight areas around the garage door opener and water heater. Sitting on the water heater is the water softener pump. This could not be moved; however, Jessie worked his magic and was able to drywall the base without moving the unit. The bottom edges of the walls are nice and clean. He even was able to drywall the wall next to our tankless water heater. I initially told him that if it was going to be too time consuming to drywall that small area, to just leave it. He was able to drywall it. When Jessie finished the job, he left the garage clean. The walls were textured and are now ready for paint. Our garage floor looks horrible, but it was like that before he worked on the drywall. With the extra we saved by hiring Jessie, the flooring is the next project. Jessie is a very friendly and hard working person. I've had a lot of work done in our home, so I know what to look for when hiring someone to not only complete a project, but to treat my home with respect, and Jessie did just that. And then his 2 guys still left unacceptable areas that my own top notch drywall guy had to fix. :( :(

This was a large project that involved removing the garage door, retrofitting 3 sets of doors, framing and finishing for a custom look, inside and out. They even installed special thresholds so we could be assured of being able to roll equipment in and out of the space easily. After each stage of the job, the crew cleaned up the area and removed all debris. The price quoted us initially was in line with competitors, better than several, who failed to follow up with us. There was no cost-creep, and we finished at the price quoted us. Progress and payment was tracked on their online job project site, which was an added benefit and inspired confidence. The reason for my 1-star rating is because when we were ready to schedule, we called and called and no one ever answered. My husband also tried and left messages that were never returned. I know they are a busy company, but it shouldn't be that hard to schedule once a quote has been provided. Perhaps Doug needs to hire a receptionist to help with phones. We ended up going with another company and I'm so glad we did. They did a wonderful job! They were also Yelp verified and backed by a $2,500 protection by Yelp. We chose a smaller company where we had direct access to the owner and communication was never a problem. The owner was also onsite every day of the job.

I wanted to provide an update since the owner's response below does not reflect what has happened…read moresince my original review. The company stated that the waterproofing work was completed and documented. However, after that response was posted, new leaks continued to appear, including leaks in areas that had never leaked before. Additional damage occurred to my home, including hardwood flooring and interior finishes. The company also stated that it does not reinstall unsafe components. Yet I personally documented damaged and broken pillars being reused, and multiple workers told me they had objected to reusing them. Most importantly, the company has since involved its insurance carrier regarding the conditions and damages at my property. Their insurance consultant inspected my home on March 18, 2026. If the work was completed properly and there were no issues related to the project, I find it difficult to understand why an insurance claim was necessary in the first place. Since then, I have been repeatedly told to wait for the insurance process. Months have passed, no meaningful testing has been performed to determine the source of the continuing leaks, no repair plan has been provided, no leaking doors have been repaired or replaced, and the missing railings and pillars remain uninstalled. The most frustrating part is that my home is still left looking like an unfinished construction site while the company points to an ongoing insurance review as the reason for delay. I do not believe a homeowner should be expected to live with continuing damage and an incomplete project indefinitely while waiting for an insurance determination. I genuinely hoped this matter would be resolved after meetings with the company's ownership and licensing representative. Unfortunately, despite promises that things would move forward, very little has actually happened. I will continue to update this review as events unfold so that potential customers can make an informed decision.

I found Steve the Wall Doctor on yelp. We are so happy with the work he performed. Our home is a custom built home that had some walls that were so wavy when originally built. My husband is in the construction industry and is very picky when it comes to the finishing work when doing drywall. Steve was able to fix other contractor's mistakes and the walls look great. We ended up adding on additional work including building a new closet, recessed lighting and all the finishing work. Steve is very trustworthy and has great customer service. First class all the way! I recommend Steve without a single reservation. As a result of a serious mold problem, the lower 2 feet of drywall in one room had been removed as well as a large adjacent area in my garage and needed to be replaced. Steve and his team arrived promptly at 8 AM and did a fabulous job. You can't even see a line where they installed the replacements. The room is now ready to be painted. Beyond doing a perfect job, they left the room spotless after removing all the plastic they had put down to protect my floors and cleaning up every speck of debris. Initially, a remediation company had come out and told me I'd have to rip out the cabinets due to water damage. I wanted a second opinion, so that is why I reached out to Matt. It was a pleasure speaking with him, for he is very knowledgeable of water damage. Matt really calmed my nerves. Our appt time was 9AM, and about a couple minutes after, I see his car pull up. I love when people show up on time. I've had bad experiences in the past where I sit, look out the window, and just wait for someone to show up at the scheduled time. Matt showing up on time really impressed me. He looked at the areas where they may be damage, and didn't find any moisture detected. He couldn't guarantee that there wasn't some water damage to where a drain leak was, but reassured me that at least inside the cabinets, and on the drywall, there was no damage. He was patient in answering my many questions, and made me feel more at ease about the situation. He asked that I send pictures of what's behind the stucco, once the plumber cut into it to fix the pipe, and that he would then give me a recommendation on how to proceed from there. I joked and told him hopefully I won't need to use his services, but if the worst case scenario became a reality and I did need the cabinets removed and drywall replaced, I know Matt would be the first and only person I call.

Garry can verify how poor of a job was done. It took him 3 visits to get the bed sturdy enough to sleep in again with extra wood and brackets doing the trick. He also cut and installed baseboards to replace the ones missing after the Murphy bed was removed from the other master suite. After more than a month of cleaning out a cluttered, unfinished garage, I was ready for drywall. I…read morecontacted a few businesses, and their prices were way too high. I called owner Jessie of Menifee Drywall Construction, provided him measurements and photos of the garage, and he provided a quote right away. The price was just right! Other businesses were charging 2x the cost, and that was without insulation. We even have a little extra money to do a couple of things for the garage. Jessie is a great communicator. He responds to emails and texts. He is very flexible with scheduling as well. When it came to the start date, Jessie sent an ETA text, and continued to do this for each day of the project. Jessie did more work than planned. For example, he noticed that the framing where the studs are were a bit off. He reinforced the framing by adding additional pieces of wood, and also added some shims to keep the ceiling level. He even shaved down the studs that were sticking out more on the walls. This extensive work added a couple of extra days to the project completion date, but I was not upset about it. As what was requested, Jessie added an attic access door. I even asked if he could patch up the bigger holes in the wall that wasn't being touched. To my surprise, he fixed not just the big holes, but all the little ones too, which I was planning to do myself. He also drywalled the tight areas around the garage door opener and water heater. Sitting on the water heater is the water softener pump. This could not be moved; however, Jessie worked his magic and was able to drywall the base without moving the unit. The bottom edges of the walls are nice and clean. He even was able to drywall the wall next to our tankless water heater. I initially told him that if it was going to be too time consuming to drywall that small area, to just leave it. He was able to drywall it. When Jessie finished the job, he left the garage clean. The walls were textured and are now ready for paint. Our garage floor looks horrible, but it was like that before he worked on the drywall. With the extra we saved by hiring Jessie, the flooring is the next project. Jessie is a very friendly and hard working person. I've had a lot of work done in our home, so I know what to look for when hiring someone to not only complete a project, but to treat my home with respect, and Jessie did just that. Please contact Jessie for your drywall needs. Yes, get your additional quotes, but please be sure to contact Jessie. I guarantee you won't be disappointed if you hire him.
