So I've been here a couple of times as my husband seems to love it along with everyone we bring here. Definitely a great spot but maybe a tad bit boring for me personally given the price which is why I'm giving 4 stars but I'm sure many of my friends would disagree and give it a five! Also a good place to bring out of town visitors who might be picky eaters, there's something there for everyone. I do appreciate that on our most recent visit some members of our party weren't really dressed for fine dining and yet the staff still treated us wonderfully and with dignity. Immediately upon entering, it seems like a nice place and we actually didn't get "warehouse" vibes at all. The staff were all very nice and the service was good. We all ordered something different: New Orleans French Toast, eggs any style, crab eggs benedict, steak and eggs, and the seafood omelet. For the most part, we were all enjoyed our meal just fine. Nothing was particularly outstanding but we were all happy with our entrees. The only one that seemed underwhelming was the steak and eggs. Went here to eat on Saturday night but beware, do not come without making a reservation, although we made a reservation we did have a 15 min wait for our table because the restaurant was so busy. Completely made sense because the food was really good & the staff is very attentive we never had empty glasses on the tape for more than 2 seconds. Our server was very nice and the food came out fast and hot. The food was very much lackluster. We ordered a French martini and lemon drop. Both were good. The calamari was good; I only ate the rings as the tentacles creep me out. The Texas shrimp would have benefited from a glaze instead of the chunky barbecue sauce. The sauce was entirely too heavy. We both ordered surf and turfs. My partner's steak was cooked perfectly, while mine was overcooked. Everything on the plate would have been better with some seasoning. I really enjoyed my visit to this beautiful restaurant. The service was spectacular and the food was great. We literally had no complaints at all. That's saying a lot for a party of 8 women but the surpassed our expectations and treated us very well. I tried the gator bites which are so delicious and the shrimp and crawfish fritters which were just ok. For my meal I got a bowl of gumbo and it was good. My kids took me here last Sunday for a late Mother's day brunch- staff were super friendly as my family was running late due to the madness of the car show . The beignets were five stars ,as well as the she crab soup, the char broiled oysters were ok, had a breading I wasn't expecting. Entrees were delish! The she crab soup was tooooo diiiieeee forrrr, so so so good, but the service is really what sealed the deal on this spot. They have outdoor dining, great for Covid nervous nellies like me, and an extensive menu of fine dining. I booked a reservation two hours prior to and there was plenty of availability on the 4th of July weekend. We had a fairly nice seat close to the window on the lower floor. It was a party of two. First, I would like to start by saying I was really sad about the prices going up!! I used to come here all the time last summer and brunch was literally $13-17 and every entree came with champagne! Now prices for what I used to get is up to $21-30. Service, this spot prides it's self in quality food and service. First it's pretty small, it's expensive, and those expenses add up quickly. The food is good, it's nothing to write home about, but it's OK. The problem with the warehouse is value. I just don't feel like you get the price you're paying. We had the seafood feast, jambalaya, bread pudding, cheesecake, and some drinks. Almost $300 bill. However, what REALLY got on my nerves, was what sounded like two people desperately trying to make a baby right behind my head. We sat in the corner, which created a cacophony of flesh slapping sounds. It took a few servers before we finally found out that it was the tenderizing of the veal. Seriously?! I can understand needing to tenderize the veal, but it made the first 20 minutes of the evening very annoying. To top it all off, they forgot my Cajun fries but I paid for it anyways. Wow-really can't believe I've never reviewed The Warehouse! Anyways.... I've been here many times,mostly for brunch,over the years, and I highly recommend it. The Bloody Mary here is absolutely hands down the best in Old Town. Very prominent in horseradish flavor. The menu is seafood heavy,including brunch. Entrees at brunch come with either strawberries and cream or strawberries and champagne. Most recently I had a special-the shrimp roll. Piled high with shrimp, lightly tossed in a creamy Mayo sauce on a toasted brioche bun. Very flavorful and summery. Service is always minimalist but fine. Fresh calamari for an appetizer, some of the best I've ever had! My entree was Spicy Pecan Crusted Chicken with mashed potatoes. It was fantastic! went for brunch and my partner needed to use the restroom. He is disabled and tried to use the first floor facility and was told by several employees that he could not use it. He was told he had to use the restroom upstairs that has to be accessed by a large flight of stairs. He told them again he had a handicap and offered to show his state issued handicapped card. They ignored him and walked off. My understanding is that people with disabilities need to be accommodated and not dismissed legally. Took over 40 minutes for my food to come out. When I was told only 2 minutes the server comes back 5 minutes later to say "oh your ticket wasn't made because of the shift change". Visited Old Town early Sunday before our flight back home and very few places were open so we chanced on Warehouse solely by luck! Really happy this was our last meal this trip, the decor is elegant, small flower arrangement on table and the brunch entrees included a flute of champagne. I ordered the crabcakes which were ok. As I was taking my last bite, I noticed a piece of hair on plate it was so gross. We sat outside which was a bad idea because the table was leaning like crazy due to the hill being on a sidewalk that was on some uneven terrain. There were no open tables inside. Luckily there was a nice breeze. The service was great and my water was never left under halfway full. Food overall was mid at best. I think the quality was not up to par on the prices. I got the crab cakes which were full of crab meat but the taste could have been much better. My daughter got the steak and eggs which was way over cooked and lacked any flavor, she had to add salt. Husband got smoked salmon Benedict and said it was pretty good. Nothing had the wow factor. It lacked seasoning. The crabcake although it was definitely lump crab meat it also lacked seasoning. And the texture reminded me of the crab "mustard" you eat when you're eating while crabs and I'm not a fan of the mustard(poop). I would come back if invited but probably wouldn't suggest it. The Warehouse has been on my "Want to Try" list for a while now, and I should have gone here sooner! Everything on the brunch menu sounded amazing, and as other table's around me got their orders, they all looked fantastic. It was difficult to pick what to get, and thankfully the party of 5 I came with all got different things: NOLA Brunch, beignets, Spicy Pecan Crusted Chicken, St Charles Benedict, and the Seafood Omelette. I got the Charbroiled oysters and She Crab Soup, and 1) they were the largest oysters I had ever seen and 2) that was the only She Crab Soup I've ever had that I didn't have to pick out and shells. Food is a 5/5. Staff is 3.5/10. The wait staff was fairly attentive and accomodating, but it felt a little off. The coffee refills were flowing, and they were on top of clearing the table of plates. However, the water refills were by request and same with splitting the check. A group of 5 - no couples - and they dropped a single check off without asking if we wanted it split. These aren't make-or-break aspects, but it all felt a little strange. Overall, I will come back again for brunch and definitely to try their dinner! It's a great group spot and date spot. read more

It's been 11 years since we dined here. The classic service and southern fare have not changed. We had gator bites for appetizers with a spicy remoulade sauce. They were a hit with my kids as well. I have been to The Warehouse on multiple occasions for both lunch and dinner. Wonderful atmosphere inside and with the advent of Covid they have expanded outdoor seating on the sidewalk and curb lane of the street. Outdoor seating is covered and same level of service you receive inside is provided outside. The food is delicious and prices are fair for Old Town Alexandria. Lobster, shrimp, scallops etc. wrapped in parchment paper with sauce is delicious as are the steaks and other seafood options. We ordered a she crab soup, the fried seafood appetizer (I can't recall the name) and I ordered the lobster Cobb salad. The seafood appetizer was crispy and crunchy with a batter that's light. The she crab soup was good...everything you expect in a soup. Lastly, the lobster Cobb salad came on a crispy tortilla shell and was a large portion. I loved it.
