All staff are wearing masks. There was only one other customer in the salon when I entered and 3 employees. They are not over booking and keep very limited customers in the salon. Amina did a great job on my hair. She really took the time with her consultation before starting to understand what I wanted. I recommend bringing photos of what you would like so she can see if it is doable. Balayage is a very complicated process and not everything is achievable on the first trip, Sometimes it can take many trips to get the color you desire. I purchased a Groupon and I was treated wonderfully, which I have found is not always the case. My Groupon was for a haircut, balayage, and conditioning. I had to pay $25 extra for the toner, which I was informed of prior to coming. They recommend doing a toner every two months for upkeep on the balayage. Amina asked a lot of questions to really understand what I was looking for, which was refreshing. She also did a great job on my haircut and once again asked a lot of questions to really understand what I was looking for. I really liked that she tried to give me the look I was going for rather than telling me what I should get. My Groupon did not actually include a blowout, but she did this on the house which was amazing. She even curled my hair. I will definitely be back to get my hair done here. I'm rather picky with my hair and in the past have not found it helpful to stay loyal to any one salon in search of the *unicorn.* However I just left my fifth visit at the salon recently and I'm happy to say I'm going to stick to this salon. Danielle can deliver quality that is consistent at a reasonable price consistent with her expertise. She is easy to talk to and listens to what you want with your hair, and I never feel like the cuts are rushed. She also pays attention to what you can do to help achieve your color goals while being realistic while minimizing hair damage. There are certain hair products I've learned to use on the reg to help reduce tangling. The cherry on top is the vibe of the salon is chic and always smells nice! So far I've gone here for cuts, blowouts, and highlights. Given the service, pricing and quality of the cuts, you can consider me a regular at this salon for seasons to come. When asked if it was going to be full or partial color, I told her I wasn't sure what he wanted and hoped that speaking with the stylist we would figure it out then. The girl suggested I call my son and ask him and then call back to make my appointment. I asked what the reason was for needing to know prior to making an appointment ? I was told that they focus on time management and they wouldn't want to schedule as a full when he would get partial bc that leftover time could've been filled and vise versa if i scheduled a partial but decided on a full. She doubled down on me figuring it out with my son and then calling back so the appointment would align with their "time management". I brought up the possibility of my 15 yr old son changing his mind mid appointment after discussions with his stylist etc. wouldn't customer satisfaction be the focus in this situation ? What happens then? Does "time management" trump our appointment ? Do you send us away when the chance of interfering with next customers scheduled time comes into play ? I was offered a consultation appointment that would , unfortunately , yes, mean I'd have to come back another day for the actual service. I'm 35 years old I've dyed my hair 6 times 4 perms and countless cuts over the years at probably over a dozen salons. I've never experienced such difficulty just trying to make an appointment; Seemed like a red flag to me. Shame though because their photos of their color services was impressive. Story has a happy ending though : I was able to make an appointment at another salon in Ridgewood after hanging up. I said the same thing I did when I called here , there was no problem at all. My advice : when a salon is so focused on time management to the point you can't even make an appointment: go elsewhere. I'm thankful actually.
