Updated to say that now, two years in, the laminate has uncurled again at the edges and we now have a basically flat floor. Update: I am a property manager for 20+ duplexs, and we worked with The Water Damage Experts to removed soiled water from under one of the units. The water Damage experts were out within a few days to give an estimate, we decided to work with the water damage experts with this job. They came out promptly a day or so later, it turned out there was more damage than expected and raised the price by $1000+. We agreed to pay the orentiginal price quote and after we were sent a detailed statement we would pay the remaining balance. They removed all the soiled water and prepared for the plumbers. After some complications with the finance department regarding the remaining balance, The President of the company Joe Mendiola contacted me regarding my experience and went above and beyond my expectations and resolved the issue. He was kind and you could truly see he cared for the company he worked so hard to create. I never thought about a flood before so when my grandmothers toilet ran all night long flooding out her upstairs bathroom, I didn't know what to do. Seems like this is either a franchise or national chain. When I called they fwd me to one of their local technicians. They advertise as 24hr service and realize it's the day before Xmas eve, but it actually makes this worse. Had a pipe burst on me. Called at 8am and Eric the technician on call said he'd be able to do the job. Sent him pictures and we confirmed he'd stop by the same day. I reached out to him again at 1pm and he replied his guys will be there between 2-3pm. Past 3pm, no word. I reached out and he told me he couldn't make it and that I'd need to wait until Tuesday. That means he'd leave my basement wet for 5 days, growing mold and whatnot. This is just totally unacceptable. If he told me he's too busy that day, no harm, no foul. I'd try another company. But once you say you will come out for emergency services, you need to come out. I went with the Water Damage Experts because of the high ratings. Unfortunately, that failed me today. read more

I'm writing this review to give other Yelpers some of idea of what to expect and less to rate this company, because I honestly don't know if they did a good job or not for the money (but obviously I have my doubts). One evening I discovered that I had a leak in the kitchen/laundry sewer line; the pipe had broken completely off in the crawlspace under the house and waste water had been accumulating for a few days. It looked and smelled pretty bad although no human waste was involved. The plumber said the mess would have to be cleaned up before he could start working on it and referred TWDE. They set up an appointment for the next morning. Dana came by later than promised (but he did call), looked over the situation, and gave me the estimate. It was for $1700 to treat an area of 100 sq ft (approximately 10' x 10'). There were a lot of fixed, minimum charges for things like waste disposal, setup, etc. which seemed reasonable, although a hundred here and a hundred there does add up. Items which I felt a bit uncomfortable about were a $3/sq ft "Bio Rinse" treatment, a $175 charge just to have a blower running to draw air out of the crawlspace while they were working, and a $250 charge to fog the crawlspace after treatment. At the time, I really wanted to get the sewer pipe fixed, and I was comfortable with the plumber, so I decided to let Dana start on the job. He left to get some supplies (2 large bags of SuperSoil) and returned about an hour later to start. Dana covered the floor leading to the crawlspace access with protective paper, then he and his son worked on removing the contaminated soil, disinfecting the area, and covering it with a plastic tarp so that the plumber could easily access the pipe over the still-wet soil. BioRinse appeared to be a strongly perfumed disinfecting spray which they applied with hand sprayers over the soil they had spread out. Dana and his son did not wear any protective gear besides gloves, maybe because human waste was not involved? I decided to forgo the fogging and he was agreeable with that. They were finished in an hour and a half, and I doubt that more than a cubic foot of soil was replaced. Did they do a good job? I really can't complain, except for the price. Dana was very kind, courteous, and worked diligently. It just seems like a lot of money: $1000/hr. According to the plumber (who did a great job by the way), he recommended TWDE because they were less expensive than other firms. What is needed are more reviews on this kind of service. read more

My rating is based on my experience trying to schedule an estimate (resulting in 2 no shows for confirmed appts). I called to request an appt on Thursday. Dana returned my call a couple hours later and said he could come over Friday afternoon but needed to call me back in the early evening to confirm. He didn't call. Ali called me on Friday afternoon (Dana is Ali's supervisor). He told me he could come Saturday at 9:00am. He didn't show up; he didn't call. I called the office, they patched me through to Dana who apologized and we scheduled another appt for Monday at 9:30am. He didn't show up; he didn't call. I conveyed all this to the office - they offered to have Dana call me back, but I'm done waiting for these guys. read more

Our plumber found water damage just before a weekend, preventing a fix to our drain line and which needed immediate fix. We called a few places, one of which was Steve, from the Water Damage Experts. He was very responsive, and agreed to stop by in-between jobs that he was doing across the bay, and provided a very competitive estimate. After some decision process, we decided to go with them since they were available on sunday, the very next day. As scheduled, Steve and a co-employee arrived and finished the job on time, and gave us a very detailed report of what was done, and what plumbing fix needs to happen. Apparently he has over a decade of experience, and seemed very knowledgeable. He also took care of working with our homeowners insurance to fill in on the claim. Finally, the plumber had no problems fixing the issue quickly, and said the water damage job was well done. In conclusion, I give the five stars for the responsive service, a perfect job, and excellent follow up. Completely agree with the opening line on the previous review. read more

My tenant called and complained of an odor coming into the garage area. I had the plumber checked and he said the odor was probably from a previous leak and recommended that I contact a water damage company. I called Water Damage Experts and scheduled an appt for inspection. Dana and his son showed up 2 hours late. He gave us a quote that was ridiculously high - $2400 for 2 hours work just to treat the area without plumbing work. He said there is no leak right now but the pipes are old. He recommended that we have all the pipes replaced to prevent future problem. He said if we were to hire him to replace the plumbing pipes (separate cost), he would give us a little discount. I asked him to send me the proposed work in writing for my husband to review. He never did and never responded to my text. I searched Yelp and found another water damage company. Their technicians were prompt to the appt, very thorough in explaining the problem and charged us only $900 with warranty for the service - a small fraction of what Water Damage Experts would have charged us. Okay, this is a type of company that we'd hope to never have to call upon but this past Thanksgiving we needed them urgently and they totally came through for us. It started with a light stench coming from our kitchen area that increased to a very foul smell by the 2nd week. We called our plumber who detected a leak in an 8 inch section of the drain pipe that connects our kitchen sink line with the laundry washer drain. This caused lots of food dangling from the drain and food waste spilt into the crawlspace below our home, hence the strong odor we've been smelling. But in order for our plumber to replace the drain, we'd have to call a hazmat type company like the Water Damage Experts to clean up all the food waste and any wet areas before the plumbers can do any work as it may pose a hazard for them to work down there. Carlos of Water Damage Experts arrived within a short few hours of my initial call. He gave us an estimate and explained everything in total detail what they would be doing: digging up the affected topsoil, extracting it all out with their super strong vacuums, applying some microban material and fogging the entire area which would slowly soak up and kill the smell and any bacteria that may have developed. At first we were a bit sticker shocked as it couldn't have happened at a worse time with Xmas around the corner. But they've been around for 20 years and had a 105% price guarantee so we gave them the green light to proceed. Remind you, it's Thanksgiving and we felt a little pressured for time but absolutely none from Carlos who never pressured us into anything. He even gave us his cell phone to call anytime during the holiday with any questions or concerns which we did several times. He also emailed us the pictures he took to show us the extent of the affected areas in our crawlspace. When Carlos and a fellow worker came the next day to begin work, they were on time, professional and finished in a timely fashion. They left plastic coverings in the crawlspace and even masks for our plumbers whom they spoke with and scheduled on our behalf to come in right after they left. I also want to mention that they even hosed down our driveway to further clean up the areas they worked in. Had a foul smell coming from my kitchen and for a few days it was outright horrible had a plumber come out and check it out, turns out the kitchen line was broken he recommended I call The Water Damage Experts. I am a property manager and I had a bad smell and some small black flies around one side of the building,well apparently I had a secondary kitchen pipe broken under crawls space so when ever that side of building used their kitchen sinks and disposers came gushing down on the crawl space, it accumulated a lot until I heard it when I was doing my rounds on the building. I had used Water Damage Experts before though my plumbing business. But I have never seen them in action. I was amazed and very please when I called they came the same day,went under crawl space inspected ,gave me a very detailed quote and said they could start clean up the very next day, I agreed.
