I was in the process of a full HVAC replacement. My whole family is so thankful to the entire incredible Top Down team. Our house had the unfortunate incidents of undergoing two major leaks within a 2 year period. Each time, Top Down responded promptly by sending out their team to swiftly control and stop the water damage from spreading. I like how their team members are very consistent, so we knew exactly with whom we were working every time. Whenever we had questions about follow-up, they were fast to reply with a time to return and check for proper fan placement. Rex came out this 2nd time to personally assess the water damage, and it was an honor to meet him. He's very down-to-earth and respectful when explaining what the repair process entailed. His calm demeanor put our frazzled minds at ease, because it is stressful to see mold growing out from the walls. Since insurance wouldn't cover the water damage this 2nd time around, my husband pleaded with Boe to give us as reasonable of a quote as possible, and thankfully, Bow was so compassionate as to help us out in this department. As much as I want to give these guys a good review, my experience was so frustrating I decide to not go above 2. I hired them when I had water in my crawl space a year ago and at that time after some back and forth someone showed up and just gave me an estimate. The guy showed up again on time when he promised me but he immediately started complaining about a lot of water down there and can't do it that day. I mean I hired them BECAUSE there is a lot of water down there. He left the job halfway and said he would come back. I didn't hear from anyone and I had to chase them and the guy showed up again, this time with a partner. This time all they did was go down there and spread absorbant all over the crawl space, raising the level by 2-3 inches. They told me the crawl space is sloped in a way that water would flow to my new sump pump on the side of the house. Come December, we had heavy rains and I look down in crawl space and the water came back. I asked the guys to come back to extract it since it should have flowed to side if they leveled it right. They agreed and signed up for this. Then the guy never showed up, I had to ping Rex multiple times with a can't do today because of some trouble response. Finally a guy shows up on a week day at 7 pm saying he will go into crawl space. He was down there for 2 hours and I had to help him get his supplies from the van...this was frustrating...he said he can't do more that day and he would come back tomorrow. And he vanished again...thn I started chasing Rex again...after 2-3 days someone showed up with a van and they started working...in the middle of the job they said there is too much water they have to go get a big truck and they left....never came back Chased Rex again and again and again since the guys left a ton of trash in crawl space and in my office....after 10 days someone shows up....oh there is no water . I called Top Down Restoration to help me empty the tank for my sump pump. The man I spoke to gave me a quote and told me they could help the next morning. We set up an appointment at 8 AM, and he told me it would take two hours. At 8 AM the next morning, no one showed up. I figured they were just running late so I waited around 45 minutes before giving them a call. The guy that picked up told me that he was trying to check the GPS of his technician but had bad signal and had to go somewhere else. He said he would find better signal and call me back as soon as possible. I waited an hour to hear back, but didn't hear anything. Over the next couple hours, I tried to get a hold of anyone from Top Down Restoration but all my calls were refused. Top Down Restoration was a huge waste of time. I was given an appointment that was missed and then completely ignored. I understand if they can't make an appointment, but I'd much rather they let me know so I can go to another service. Because of their unprofessionalism, I spent the rest of the day trying to find a company to empty the tank with short notice since I had to get it emptied for a plumber later that day. It was one of the most terrifying things for me and my girlfriend to learn that the house she just purchased had a leak behind the stairwell so bad that the walls were literally bloating up. We haven't had much time at the house so it was quite a surprise to hear what sounded like a shower running behind the stairwell. We instantly knew that 1) we needed to fix the leak and 2) we needed someone to help us prevent further damage to the house. The plumber we hired recommended Top Down Restoration and we are glad we did. Adam showed up the very next day of us calling Top Down. He promptly checked the whole house, including the subfloor to see how extensive the damage was. It was a tough pill to swallow when he told us that our tiled floor, dry wall, and stairs had to go. But as you can see from the pictures, the damage was extensive and in the end we were glad that Adam pushed for it because he knew what he was doing and wanted to protect our home. During their time at our house, we met with almost every one of their crew and each of them were not only kind, but also worked hard towards making sure our house was free of water damage and mold. Additionally, they took steps to protect the rest of our home from their demolition and spread of the mold spores. Furthermore, all of this was coming out of our own pocket. The home insurance wasn't covering this because it was obvious this leak happened before my girlfriend bought the house. They are AMAZING! I called Rex on a Saturday and he immediately sent Pablo. Pablo arrived on time and assessed the situation. He was friendly, genuine and answered all our questions. One of our bathrooms flooded with a few inches of water and of course water was everywhere. He explained what needed to be done, how insurance would be involved, and all of the next steps that we would need to take. The carpet, walls, ceilings, tiles all had to be ripped out. I think what I was most surprised about was how fast and clean they left everything. I want to thank Top Down for all their help during such an uncertain time with COVID19 going on. Top Down was referred to us by Dependable Water Heaters and fortunately were located not too far from my senior mother's home. My mother's water heater has been leaking for some time unnoticed. The damage was a lot worse than what all of us thought (see pictures). When our water heater guy removed the old leaky water heater, we could see the walls behind it were spotty with mold and the adjacent walls and carpet were soppy wet. I was really nervous about the situation because I was not new to water/mold remediation and this stuff can get really expensive. We called Top Down and they were able to send someone to assess the water damage that same day. Sean and Pablo swung by an hour later. They wore masks and maintained six feet distance as best they could in my mom's small home. I'm sure they sensed my stress and tried to deliver the news sensitively. I asked them how much they estimate the repairs will be (removal of mold, drying of the wood, and replacing the damaged wood/drywall). Being the professionals they are, they were spot on. Given that my mother did not have home owners insurance, Rex (the owner of Top Down) worked with us, which my siblings and I are all so GRATEFUL for. It has been stressful for me coordinating repairs and bringing my toddler son with me, so I was greatly relieved when Rex told me I didn't need to be there and his crew will handle it. He said they take before/after photos and can send them to me. The guys taped up plastic barriers to contain the debris as they cut out the moldy walls. Afterwards, they set up the dehumidifiers and fans to dry the moisture in the walls. My siblings were impressed when I showed them the pictures. If you are reading this review, chances are some unfortunate and unforeseen damages have been done at your home. This is what happened to us few days ago when we found out about the water leakage in our water heater caused water damage in the walls of the closet and to the adjacent living room. Our water heater guy refereed Top Down to us and Pablo along with Sean arrived quickly to the scene to assess the damage. With the COVID19 and my parent being at risk seniors, I really appreciate they arrive prepared and protected with professional masks, gloves and even putting on shoes covers every time they enter the resident. Long story short and not that you care about the details Pablo assessed the damage, provided a quote and went straight to work. The entire process went smoothly and efficiently and they also did a great job cleaning up the area after the job. Pablo also checked up with me a few days after they picked up the dehumidifiers to ensure everything is ok. Throughout the entire process, Pablo has been very professional, cordial and empathetic so this put some ease on the already very stressful situation. The water leak detection guy we got to find and fix the leak informed us that there was significant steam damage in the crawlspace due to the steam, and mold was growing in the underside of the floorboards due to the dampness. He suggested we get someone to come in a clean out the mold and dry out the crawlspace t prevent further damage. We got a few estimates including from Top Down. Rex responded quickly, and was able to send someone down to do an inspection immediately. He texted me with a fair quote right after and was willing to work with me to help manage the cost (I was paying out of pocket). We scheduled a time for them to come in and do the work. Rex came by early the day of the appointment to drop off the equipment. Bo and his team came over at the appointed time to start the work. They laid down floor coverings to protect my floor and got to work. Overall they took two days to do the cleaning, and mold removal, and then they brought in fans and dehumidifiers to dry out the space. That could have been the end of it but Bo mentioned that while they were down in the crawlspace they notice that the steam might have penetrated into the space above. He did an inspection with a moisture meter and found very high readings in the floor and drywall above. We ended up pulling some of the flooring and found even higher moisture reading and start of some mold growth. Rex got his team to pull up the floor until the readings started coming down. They went over the space with the cleaner and brought in more fans and dehumidifier to dry the space. We had to adjust the quote slightly to account for the additional work, but it was minimal given the additional equipment and manpower involved. Water damage is never a great experience and in times like these, it's important to work with someone you trust to help. I wholly recommend Top Down Restoration if you find yourself in such an unfortunate situation. Rex and his team have been a great help, they have been on time, professional, very thorough, and Rex did a great job communicating during the entire process. Simply the Best. We had a burst water line in our 2nd floor bathroom. Water leaked thru the 1st floor ceiling, and down thru the hardwood floor on the 1st floor. What a total mess.
