BEAUTIFUL Creek behind the Outside Deck!

GORGEOUS Inside & Out, AMAZING Vegan Impossible Burger! Being plant-based isn't always easy when traveling through small towns. Oftentimes it involves ordering "accidentally" vegan food such as chips & guac and salad with no dressing, but the Watering Hole became our dinner spot for two nights in a row for 3 reasons: 1. The INCREDIBLE Impossible Burger 2. The BEAUTIFUL creek 3. The ENCHANTING restaurant interior The burger was to die for. Straight up. I was absolutely obsessed with their hamburger buns from the first bite. One of the greatest vegan hamburgers I have ever had. The service was also fast and the staff were attentive and friendly at all times. Inside, the restaurant had a VERY homey feel without being cramped like many other "homey" style establishments. The SOARING tall ceilings and SPRAWLING space made you feel like you were in a luxury cabin (complete with an inviting fireplace with relaxation seating). Outside, an EXPANSIVE patio/deck would prove as a great space for large parties and we loved sitting outside listening to the gorgeous creek) With a bag of free popcorn, I finished the evening with a quick dip-of-the-feet in the creek and I cannot wait to return next time I visit Murphys!

This was our first time in and it's great! I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 only because they don't have any N/A beer. With their 40 beers and huge refrigerated beer selection, not one non-alcoholic beer to be had. I will say that the location is beautiful and clean, the service is great, and their beer selection was plentiful! There was a great food menu with lots of options. The food was really good and fairly priced. We will definitely be back. Fingers crossed for N/A beer in the future!

Really quality, tasty lunch at the Watering Hole today. A measure of spice in the coconut "infused" rice, coupled with pieces of pork belly and a ver nice dip. Great compliment to the beer that I also enjoyed. Loving it!

Probably the best burger and fries my husband and I have ever had... and that says a lot. Sat outside overlooking the river, and it was beautiful. Good selection of beer. We loved this place! It is an order at the counter and bus your own table place.

View from the back looking towards the front. Not busy on a November Thursday afternoon.

Interesting mix of reviews here -- we had a great experience. Huge selection of beers on tap, and available in bottles or cans. Nice food menu -- the mulligatawny soup was amazing!! -- and our at-the-counter service was excellent and friendly. Huge place, inside and out. We stayed for about 90 minutes just relaxing and enjoying. We'd definitely hit this spot again!

First the good. Lots of beer selections, 40 beers on tap, hundreds in the cooler. Now the bad. The owner has a total attitude and is a total turn off. We had a good lamb burger but the Fried Chicken Pizza sandwich was literally full of human hair. The owner argued it was "the cheese" and said "I don't see what you are seeing." That's balls arguing with someone patronizing your restaurant! After him making my daughter pull the hair out to prove to him it was hair (one of many I saw) the owner's attitude changed. Now, being a local and living here, this is the first owner I have experienced that needs some serious attitude adjustment in questioning a customer who complains about a health issue. Making someone "prove" to you there is hair in food is a deal breaker to ever coming here again. There is the "The Pour House" down the street and they are extremely friendly. Also a local owner serving not just tourists but locals and understands the value of a small local community reputation. I am sure the owner will blow this off with his pompous attitude but word spreads fast in town. Being 75% empty on a Saturday at 6:30pm was a sign something isn't working well. The owner should take a good look at how he runs his business. I was so ticked I forgot to take a photo of it but 9 years of restaurant reviews and eating at hundreds of restaurants, we know human hair is not cheese! Insulting a customer is one of the worst things on top of denial. Won't be back and suggest you skip it. The sad part is the staff working the counter are really nice and deserve better. 2 stars

Great experience with friends. Friendly place and locals! Everyone saying all the food was great! Ribs were super tender and the bon mi was good. Started dry on the outside but great flavor and solid sando! Will come again!

I'm so surprised at the low rating this place has! We stumbled upon this lovely place while driving around Murphy. The food was very good, the big open space was warm and inviting, the beer selection was truly fantastic. The service was also friendly! They have small cute touches like a Nintendo 64 and It's-it ice cream sandwiches which we loved. Def recommend it :) We tried: jalapeño popper grilled cheese, spare ribs, and persimmon salad. Really liked all of them.

It all started to go down hill when I asked about citrus flavored beers. Was met with a blank look from the cashier. He pointed to the cooler and said I may find something there. The burger wasn't very warm but the fries were good. I put our tray up at the bar and was told in a not so pleasant tone that it goes in the corner. Never in my life have I been charged for a glass to go with my beer. We won't be back.

I ordered a beer and chicken tacos with guacamole ( for extra $5)…read more I was given a number as I was sitting outside with my 2 small dogs. I nursed my beer for almost 40 minutes waiting. The 4 adults and 3 kids seated outside with me ordered right before me but were served within 10 to 15 minutes. The server was pleasant and attentive to them. They were basically done eating and another server literally tossed my cold tacos onto table. He was really sweaty and abrupt. The tortillas were stone cold and looked like they must have been cooked at some point because they had brown char marks on them . The chicken was cold and dry cut into cubes with some reddish powder so they may have been moist at some point. There was some white sauce drizzled on them that looked like it had just been applied since it had not soaked in at all. The $5 guacamole was a table spoon at most. The salsa even less. The handful of chips were generic and stale tasting. I asked him if I could get some water since I drank my beer already since I had been there over 40 minutes. He dismissed me abruptly and pointed at sign on table to order online. He left . I was in shock. I was so excited to stop here on way home to San Francisco. The tacos were dreadful. I don't even know how to describe. Cardboard with freeze dried chicken cubes maybe. Food F, Service F, Beer B. Treatment of Senior Citizens F-.
