Burger of the month. Honey bunny
    Eric P.

Great burgers but the menu leaves something to be desired. Every month they do a specialty burger and this month was the honey bunny. It was topped with ham, garlic aoili, hot honey, fried pickles, cheese sauce on a sweet brioche bun. It was delicious but asked for medium and there was no pink left inside. The other ingredients make it plenty juicy but a bummer. The beet burger is a patty made with beet and apple. It was huge and held together pretty well for a veggie burger. There was a slight sweetness to it but very rich. The fries were perfectly crispy and definitely fresh. Where they lack is definitely the options. There are no seafood options at all and there are only three uninspiring Flatbread. The rest is basically burgers and sandwiches. Even there salad dressings there was only 5 options. The beer menu was also lackluster. Lots of run of the mill IPAs. No double IPAs or anything on the stronger side. They have a rotating tap so maybe they will do different brews next time, but there was nothing that stood out. The service was fine. It was not slow but if it was any busier I'm sure they need more of a staff. Inside it looks almost exactly like the place that was there before, the only big change I noticed was they now have no beer list in the main dining room and lots of single tables. The burgers were good and about the same price as others around town, but that's also why it's kind of disappointing. It's just another simple pub menu without many options. Hopefully they expand their menu in the future.

Great place in downtown Sonora! We were looking for an early lunch spot and this place was the first one open on the street. We were immediately greeted with great customer service which continued during our entire meal. The service was very fast and all the food was delicious. The restaurant itself was very relaxed and had a great vibe whether you're looking for a place to have some beers or stop by for a family lunch. Overall, we had a great experience and would love to visit again.

We have been here a few times before, but our son is a regular. They all know him there by name! He took my husband and me there for the cheesecake of the month, for our anniversary. They didn't have any more cheesecake, but when they realized that it's the whole reason why we went there tonight. Ashleigh, the waitress, called the owner and told him our son was at the restaurant with his parents celebrating their anniversary, so she told the owner to bring the strawberries needed for the cheesecake for us. He came from home with the strawberries and they made the cheesecake for us! Talk about going above and beyond for customers!!! I've always been impressed with the restaurant, the menu, the drinks, the customer service, but now I'm even more impressed! Thank you Ashleigh, Haley, and Glen! And the rest of the staff! You are all the bomb!

What a great new brewery in Sonora. We tried all their beer that is brewed on site and they were very good. The owners were friendly. Will definitely return.

We had their delicious flatbread for dinner. I also tried the blackberry cider which also great! Service was attentive and pleasant.

However, I Visited on Mother's Day with my daughter and sister and had a completely different experience. I have a gluten allergy, one daughter has gluten sensitivity, and my other daughter has celiac disease. We informed our waitress that we needed gluten-free options and were told they were out of gluten-free buns but had gluten-free sourdough. After double-checking, the chef confirmed it was gluten-free. Something didn't seem right, so we asked to see the packaging. Wheat was listed as an ingredient. Thankfully, we caught the mistake before eating it. Unfortunately, when our food arrived, two of the gluten-free meals were still served with gluten-containing items, including a flour tortilla and the same bread we'd already identified as not gluten-free. The food itself was actually delicious, and I wish I could leave a more positive review based on that alone. However, for anyone with celiac disease, a gluten allergy, or a serious gluten sensitivity, accurate ingredient information is not optional--it's a health and safety issue. The repeated errors from both the kitchen and serving staff were extremely disappointing and left me with little confidence in their ability to safely accommodate gluten-free guests.

what a creative menu!…read more I was hungry for a philly cheese, and the "philly cheese please" hit the spot. Soft tender slices of ribeye, paired with grilled onions, grilled red and green bell peppers and a helping of black pepper was great. No sauce to make it messy and paired with garlic truffle fried was fantastic. Since these were shoe string cut, they were crispy and very crunchy. My SO ordred the fondue burger, and this was delicious as well. Warning the hot cheese will burn you, and hot cheese oil. But worth the burn as this smother cheese on a ciabatta bun was great. This was paired with sweet potato fries. These thick cut sweet potatoe fries are only sprinkled with sea salt, they retained the soft and moist texture just prefect. One order of a passion fruit lemonade, was a great balance of sweet and tart, and came in a very large glass. Pleanty of ice to keep it chill and slowly sip through out the meal. The meal a tad heavier than I thought, I finished my philly cheese, but not the fries (a first) The room is very high ceiling and all these great art works, posters and items on all the walls. Their happy hour is DAILY from 14:00-16:00. The restaurant was pretty busy on a Sunday, but we didn't have to wait long for a table. Our server was attentive and friendly. For our cocktails, my friend went with the Huckleberry lemonade, while I went with the pomegranate whiskey sour. She thoroughly enjoyed her cocktail, and so did I. At that price point, I didn't expect much, but it was a solid cocktail, although not as strong as what I'd normally get elsewhere. The clam chowder sounded really good, and I couldn't help myself, so I ordered it. My friend is not a fan of seafood, so the chowder was all for me. The crostini was very nicely toasted and I loved dipping it into the chowder. I was also pleasantly surprised by the flavor and quality of the clam chowder. It was packed with a ton of clams, and was perfectly hearty without being heavy. We opted to share the fallen apple pizza, which was the perfect choice. The dough was pillowy and light, and the toppings delicious. I would have liked more apple slices, as it didn't seem like they were very prominent, and for the balsamic drizzle to be more uniform, but overall it was a solid pizza. I took leftover pizza home, and my husband enjoyed it for dinner. We heated it up in the air fryer and that was the way to go. While it was a little noisy in the restaurant, mainly due to a large group seated next to us, we still had a good experience, and the booth seating was comfy. I would love to bring my husband back to try more happy hour menu items next time we visit Sonora! The price point is seriously hard to beat, and Emberz is a solid spot for hanging out and having a good time.

During the wait we did not get an update or any notice from the one or two staff members. When the food eventually came out it was still missing things. When we placed the order we asked for marinara and ranch. Neither came out with the pizza and we had to ask 4 times before it was finally brought to our table. Not to mention, we only asked for 1 marinara and they brought 2 that were half full and charged us for 2.... I've heard of this burger joint chain for over a decade. I first saw it on Triple D back when that…read moreshow had a lot of pull. I think that particular location (the original) was in the Sacramento area, not sure if it is still there. But they have expanded at least 4 newer locations, with one in the Bay Area in Napa, 2 in the Stockton/Lodi area and this one in Sonora which is in the foothills of the Sierras. The others are singular brick n mortars and maybe 1 of them may even have a bar. This one in Sonora is more of an 'express' version that's attached to a gas station minimart. There is good seating like about 5-6 tables inside with another 2-3 tables outside. If you need a restroom, you'll have to walk across the minimart. For a burger joint this place has a serious unique angle. But you have to love cheese in order to appreciate that angle, otherwise you'd be missing out on what makes this place special. When you get a cheeseburger here, they will add a huge mound to that sizzling burger that it will deliberately spill onto that griddle. They will cover it to facilitate the melting and what results is a melty cheeseburger with this awesome 'cheese skirt' attached. I have never seen a burger quite like this, so the novelty was exciting. That cheddar cheese skirt is lacy, gets kinda caramelized and hardens a bit. Kinda like a cheese frico if you've ever had it in a fancy Italian resto. When hot it is semi-liquidy; when warm it is pliable like soft plastic; and when completely cool it will harden like a crisp cracker, but it always tastes of salty intense cheese. Some people eat the skirt first as an appetizer, as it is difficult to eat the actual burger with the skirt intact. Others bend that skirt back into the burger/bun and then proceed to go to town. That is how I did it and imo that is the way to go. Cuz in that, that intense cheese flavor and texture is mingled with the burger and produce, giving each bite a representation of everything. It is truly a ride. I also have to give props to the burger itself as it seriously quality stuff. It is more 'steak-y' than cheap ground beef-y. And that's a good thing cuz the cheese makes it so rich that a cheap fatty burger would make this excessively greasy. The produce and pickles are a must in this equation, cuz like I already pointed out, this is so rich and oily that the fresh produce and the quality tangy pickles complements this burger ride perfectly. I actually wouldn't mind in getting extra pickles next time as it brightens the bites beautifully. The bun was just okay, wished it were toasted more but at least it withstood the juiciness of the ride. It didn't disintegrate or turn to mush, so again giving props. You can pick a burger size 1/4 or 1/3 pound. And you can even pick the size of the cheese skirt in ounces. I did the 1/3lb in the smallest skirt which is about 3 oz of cheese. I found that to be quite filling and perfect juicy bites. I wouldn't change that ratio. Any bigger your jaws will have to do some compromising/extra work. Tried some fries from my traveling mates and I'm glad I didn't get any with my order. It was the coated/textured type and just taste too processed for me. A burger and a soda was around $14ish. Staff was really nice and executed the concept perfectly. They cook to order, so it takes at least 5 minutes for a burger, over 10 if you place an order with multiple burgers. Worth the wait, this was a very memorable and satisfying burger experience. No doubt fiver!
