The Well is a beautiful bar made for mingling and socializing. Their cocktail list is delightful and the food menu is small, but mighty. I ordered the Hello Gorgeous cocktail and the PB&J duck confit spring rolls. Stephanie was the bartender who took care of me and she made my evening that much better. She noticed I wasn't drinking the first cocktail I ordered and asked if I liked it. I shared with her that it wasn't the Fall explosion I was hoping for given the name. She immediately offered to make me a different drink that would meet that criteria, which is how I ended up with the Hello Gorgeous. It had the lightest hint of pumpkin and was truly the autumnal beverage I dreamt of. The spring rolls were incredibly flavorful and if I ate all 3, it would have been a meal for me! I loved all the sauces and toppings. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. read more

Chef Rusty is the man! Stopped in for an app and drink before dinner and were blown away by the pork belly deviled eggs. He came out and chatted with us for a bit and also let us sample their new tuna app which my boyfriend's jaw dropped over! We arrived at 4:45pm on a Friday. It was not busy. We sat at the bar where there were fewer customers. The bartender ignored us (not even an acknowledgment like "be right with you") for at least 5 minutes. In reading past reviews, being ignored at the bar appears to be a pattern. This is unacceptable service. I got a gin and tonic which is hard to mess up. My friend asked whether a red sangria was available. The bartender said "no" but she could make it. The bar did not have a Cabernet or a Blend. The wine used was not appropriate for sangria. The bartender should have simply said that sangria was not available rather than serve something that was so not sangria. My friend ordered the wagyu beef burger that she said was very good. It was 2 4-oz patties served with shoestring fries. I ordered the shrimp cakes. There were 3 cakes of a decent size. But the sauce drizzled on them tasted sweet and like bq sauce. It over powered the taste of the cakes. In addition, the cakes had a strange gelatinous consistency that I did not expect and did not care for. The cakes were served with a small portion of greens. The menu is limited but we were told it is changed regularly. I really liked the vibe and atmosphere and may return if and when new items appear on the menu. Obsessed and wish it was in St. Louis. Drew is a lovely bartender. The vibe is absolutely stunning, even the bathrooms are fun! Tropical and classy, but doesn't take itself too seriously. Lots of different places to sit and feel cozy. I love a kitschy take on a cocktail so the "It's Got the Juice" with corn liqueur was a fun (and tasty) drink. The drinks taste great and they have a pretty decent selection but only slightly above average in taste and quality given their price. Did not try their food. However, you'd be lucky to get a drink in the first place as the service is pretty slow--waiting upwards of 30min for someone to come by and ask if we wanted another drink. Such a unique pensacola spot! We haven't been to any other bars like The Well. The inside is decorated gorgeous but they play fun music so it's almost like a mix between a fancy cocktail bar and an actual bar. I love this place. Could easily see myself becoming a regular here. They don't serve food everyday of the week though so be sure to find out in advance which days they do NOT. Once I flagged the bartender down, our drinks were made quickly and then when I asked for a food menu, we had some gorgeous oysters. Second cocktail ... again, had to flag a bartender down (mind you, he was mixing a drink literally in front of us) Before we left a woman sat down beside me ... and sat a FULL five to six minutes with NO recognition from any of the 3 humans behind the bar. She finally was approached and clearly unhappy with her wait (6:30 pm and not busy at all) she mentioned she was friends with the owners ... and honestly the staff didn't seem to care. We ended up at The Well on their opening weekend and loved it so much that we went back twice more during our stay! This is exactly what we're looking for when we go out for drinks -- a place that clearly takes the craft of cocktails seriously without being snobby or smug, and where you can enjoy a pleasant conversation with your friends and don't have to shout to be heard. On our third visit, I was craving a white negroni and asked if they had Suze, a French aperitif that can be hard to find. They did! The Well I've heard is a newer establishment in Pensacola. You can see how much time and effort was put into this absolutely gorgeous bar. There are couch areas for a nice sized group that feel like you're sitting in your own living room. It's conducive to intimate conversations or near us, a girls night out of 10. The garage door sliders add an open feel and the colors and decor throughout radiate a cool vibe. You can tell no expense was spared in creating this atmosphere with the leather couches, wicker lighting above and furniture and color throughout. Now THE COCKTAILS! It has the usual upscale suspects but with a unique twist on all. All juices were freshly squeeze and they used fresh herbs like rosemary and mint. The effort paid off as they burst with flavor and didn't have the normal acidity of most bar drinks. They go down very easily and you still feel fine the next day when you partake. The ladies bathroom was so adorable with a flamingo theme and these vibrant walls and doors. A few ladies were waiting for me to leave so they could take photos of it to post on their Instagrams. Well done designer! I took a quick snapshot myself. All in all The Well took top marks for me! I didn't have a chance to try some of their cold food items like oysters but I will definitely be back!
