This place is a great option if you want to try a little bit of everything. Definitely recommend the lobster wonton, that's bomb! The focaccia was good but there are better options definitely. Their grits were also bomb. The chili rellenos was excellent. Every thing came out as it was ready so it was all hot and fresh. Great service and no complaints!

Global Grill is a must when you are in Pensacola. The food is delicious and so creative! The staff is always so professional and on point. We go here so often and they never miss! Try all the tapas and their specials! The ambiance is cute and not too loud.

I'm super glad this restaurant isn't claimed on Yelp. I wouldn't want an owner or manager or anyone to see this review. It brings me great shame to not support this long-standing stalwart, fine-dining restaurant in my home town. But after trying amazing food in bigger cities, and even just-as-amazing food in Pensacola, the Global Grill has got to be better. Everything about the ambiance and the service was perfect, actually. A beautiful dining room with a classy-looking bar and giant windows looking out at the hustle and bustle of Palafox Street, particularly beautiful when it's all dressed up for the holidays. And the server was on point. Our glasses were never empty, and he was quick to make realistic and good recommendations on what we should order. No issues here. Now for the food. We looked at the entrees they offered, and decided to order just a bunch of their hot tapas, two off their regular menu, and two specials they were having that night. Lamb Lollipops (Israeli Couscous & Sun Dried Tomato Jus). The flavor here was very good, but the cuts of the lamb were everywhere, very irregular. And the sides of the chops were seared to an overcooked degree, hiding the beautiful medium rare they are probably supposed to be. Pork Tenderloin Medallions (Espresso & Chili-Rubbed, Chorizo Gravy, Apple Chutney). Again, very good flavor. Love the espresso/chorizo combo. But many, these poor little medallions were killed and turned basically into pork jerky. Super sad. Another one we had was a scallop special they were running, with a cream sauce and some noodles. The chef must have been frustrated with how many things he was killing, so these scallops were actually undercooked. I've never seen that in all my days. Now actually, the crispy fried red snapper special we got was really good. It was served with some sorts of rice and creamed spinach. And it was super delicious. Actually cooked very well, and I loved the spinach/rice combo. It felt very homemade, but still elevated. Then it was time for dessert! Gooey Centered Spanish Chocolate Cake (Housemade Basil Ice Cream, Pecans). I loved the sweetness of the cake and how it played well with the basil ice cream. I know the cake was supposed to have a gooey center, but dang, could it at least look like a cake and not a smattering of racoon dung? Anyway, as hard as this review was to write, I had to tell the truth. Global Grill was one of the pioneers of fine dining in Pensacola, but the lack of attention to details in the kitchen has certainly lost them a customer here, Especially with two amazing amazing restaurants less than three blocks from them. So sorry, Global Grill. Rest in peace, my old friend.

The best food I had in a while. I had a small salad with some grilled shrimp, my fiance had the steak and we had the creme brulee for dessert. I really want to emphasize how good the creme brulee was. I have dreams about it. The crust was so nice and burnt and the custard was perfection. We unfortunately don't live in town, but next time we're here we will be back.

I met the manager (Frisbee--excuse me if I got that wrong!) during a night out, and he had such great things to say about the food that we made a reservation on the spot. I'm so glad we did -- the food absolutely did not disappoint, and neither did the service. The drinks were made perfectly, and the entire experience was enjoyable from start to finish. I'd definitely love to come back if I'm ever in the area again!

Global Grill did not disappoint! The wife and I along with friends (total of 6) enjoyed a wonderful dinner. Reservation for 530, we arrived several minutes early and were seated immediately. Our waitress, Samantha, was very knowledgeable about the menu and specials. Throughout the table, we ordered NY Strip Steak with mashed potatoes and veggies x3, Filet Mingon with mashed potatoes and veggies, Sesame Tuna with mash potatoes and asparagus with a tempura crust, Lobster Wontons and Chile Rellenos. We finished off with Carrot Cake, NY Style Cheesecake, and Gooey Center Spanish Chocolate Cake. A very enjoyable evening with great food and friends. I forgot to take pictures of everyone meals; however, I was able to find most through yelp and IG. The picture is identical to our entrees. Enjoy!

Pros: The location and the views absolutely cannot be beat. Right in the heart of downtown, with giant windows showcasing the beautiful Christmas decorations on Palafox. It really was super nice. The service was great. We were very well taken care of. The menu sounded really great. Tapas, when done well, are a great way to try many different things from many different categories; meat, seafood, veggies, pasta, etc. Cons: The execution was lacking majorly. The slicing of the meats was weird and uneven. The cook on the meats was very off. My first undercooked scallop ever. It was just way off for the kind of restaurant this place was trying to be. Tips: Go to the Union Public House instead. But if you have to come here, get anything they have with red snapper. That one was amazing.

Ask the Community - Global Grill

Do they have a corkage fee? Or allow diners to bring their own bottle with or without corkage?

Do they have a private dining space for bigger groups?

They don't have a private space but they do have an area that can be used depending on size of group that would be viable for a large group and give a modicum of privacy. It's their dining area behind the bar off from the main bar/dining area

    Do they take reservations?

Yea and I recommend you make them! They don't do same day reservations from what I remember

    Are leashed pets allowed here?

No pets allowed inside. No outside seating available.

The setting itself feels authentic too as many Mediterranean restaurants feel like you're in someone's home. The issue that some might have is with service, they are friendly but it takes a bit to get things done. You have to bring your patience. Excellent food.

First The Menu Bait-and-Switch Their website menu and a customer-posted menu are identical both promise pita bread and tzatziki with entrees. We ordered based on that. When we called after getting home asking where these items were, they claimed it was "an old menu posted by a customer." Except their website/menu online says the same thing. Either fix your menus or stop lying to customers. The Portions were pathetic when told they were good sized and oh man the food was Flavorless! For $79 + tip, we got portions embarrassingly small. The grape leaves? Cold, wet, and bland could barely eat three. The rice was lifeless. The $37 "Fish of the Day" tilapia had ZERO flavor and no lemon even basic Mediterranean cooking demands lemon. The $30 salmon kabob was mediocre-sized and barely filling. Everything tasted like it was prepared with zero seasoning and zero effort and no soul. We had to season our own food at home. Our server was too busy with personal conversations to help properly. When handing us our to-go food, she literally said, "I didn't put gratuity on there but you guys can if you want" like she was doing us a favor by separating the hot items from the cold. We tipped anyway because we're good Samaritans when it comes to eating out. When we complained by phone, the response was hollow: "I'll let the Owner know to fix it" the only positive thing: Location is easy to find. That's literally it. The building is rundown, interior cramped with tables crammed together, decor is mediocre at best. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Better Mediterranean restaurants exist all over Destin. This is a cautionary tale of poor execution, dishonest practices, and staff that clearly doesn't care. 1/5 Stars - Never returning.

The venue is nice, the service good, but the food was just okay. Located right on Canal Road, this spot sits in the building that used to house a favorite local breakfast joint before transitioning into this casual steak and seafood concept. The name BOLO actually stands for "Bear on the Lookout," which ties into their sister restaurant over at Bear Point Harbor. When you pull up, you will find plenty of easy, dedicated parking right out front. Inside, they have completely transformed the space into a cozy, casual vibe with dim lighting, rustic wood accents, comfortable booth seating, and a nice indoor bar area. Most reviews online have been generally solid, averaging around four stars, with folks usually praising the upscale atmosphere and friendly staff. The crowd favorites on the menu typically include their hand-cut ribeye steaks, the prime rib, broiled oysters, and their unique collard green grilled cheese small plate. I tried a wide variety of their offerings, the bread was just okay, coconut shrimp was very disappointing, the chopped salad was quite good, the wings were different and not bad but not great, my friend's prime rib steak sandwich was fair, but the fries were not good. Unfortunately my ribeye was average at best but that's where the underwhelming really hit home. The place was pretty empty, and it might because of the food, but the same folks that own this previously had an extra special breakfast spot here and I had my hopes that this would just special. I will go back again down the road and give them a try and hope that they improve their food.
