Yup. That's dried blood the Friday night we checked in…read more Asking for cleanning and that's another trip. Constantly messed up my dad seizure meds that he has to call me 1130pm one night telling me that they have not given him his last dose....I had to drive 35 minutes and throw a hissy fit for them to give him his last dose.... During orientation, they said they will bathe patient twice a week but in real life only do it unless you asked on thursday and sunday. Then, on one thursday, they bathed my dad twice by mistake after he told them he as already had one earlier! Then one evening, when my dad was in a middle of eating his dinner, this huge Nigeria nurse ran in, demanded to take the TV? Waving a piece of paper in front of his face, take the TV or you have to leave....? It turned out after several tries, he meant to tell us that my dad needs a TB test otherwise he has to leave the facility because it is a community living. My dad had a catheter inserted after his surgery. The physical therapist suggests he gets up and move around as to help the healing. He wore sweat pants but the rube was long and visible on his ankle. One nurse stop him from leaving the room and said it is illegal to expose himself . Overall, there are a few nurses, physical, and vocational therapists that are smart...on points and lucid. The rest of them are idiots. They set up road blocks and have excuses for everything that they dont want to do. Worse of all, there are new rules ever shift change. The woman that is the director is not a MD Doctor.

No one could explain why, and even after my initial discussion with Estrella, she was never automatically set up to get lunch. Trying to communicate with patient care staff can be very difficult, but management assured me that this has been corrected. Mom has tried several times to get out. Keypads are used to enter and exit. I got there one day and the front door was propped open. I moved Mom as soon as possible after the last item occurred.

There are many things wrong with the facilities as a whole but, there are definitely some good ones and good people if you can find them. Rather than talk about the bad ones, I'd rather focus on a good one. We were fortunate to come to Cedar Pointe Health and Wellness at a time when we were frustrated with the system and with some of the staff working in them. Beth Carmean is the Admissions Director at Cedar Pointe Health & Wellness Center and she was our first point of contact. She was a breath of fresh air after what we had been experiencing. She has gone above and beyond to help my husband and to make him settle into his new realty. Josh Lewis, the Administrator in Training, was the second one to go above and beyond for my husband. He is always supportive and listens with a sympathetic ear. He too, has made my husband feel heard and supported. The physical, occupational and speech therapists have been pretty amazing, no matter the facility. They are for the most part, the one constant, no matter where you go. That being said, the nurses, aides and sometimes management, should find a different profession. They seem to lack the caring and compassion for the patients and/or residents that should be a requirement. Cedar Pointe for the most part, have a better group than we have encountered. When issues arise, they try and address them and correct the problem. Of course, there will always be some that should move on but, I would like to call out a few that on a daily basis, go above and beyond. One of my husband's aide or CNA, Claudia is one of those that on a daily basis goes above and beyond. Steve in physical therapy and Jonathan in occupational therapy should also be mentioned. When your life takes a big hit and your realty is turned upside down, not just for you but, your family - support, compassion and understanding is so welcomed and appreciated. My husband and I fully recommend Cedar Pointe Health & Wellness should you or your loved one need it. We will forever be grateful for them. Thank you, The Becker's

The campus is smaller than other hospitals I've been to, which helped me arrive on time, and avoid getting confused about which building my appointment was in. With multiple heart doctors on my team, I can mix up who's doing what when and where. This hospital was manageable. I was in a shared room, (my first) but I had the window side, with a curtain drawn between the two bed areas creating adequate privacy. The single TV on the wall seemed to be more on my side, but there wasn't time to even turn it on. The very attentive nursing staff were busy asking me all the standard questions, double checking my medication list and fasting requirements, what I was there for, etc... all very professional, pleasant and efficient. When they had me ready for the cardiologist, I was wheeled into the surgical area and a new group of faces introduced themselves, went over a few more questions, and then the anesthesiologist said hello and I next thing I said was goodnight! Afterwards, back in my room, I was able to order lunch and had the salmon with veggies and chocolate pudding. The entree was so good! The BF (and my ride home) had arrived just in time to feed it to me as my right arm was in a contraption from the procedure. Discharge came with lots of aftercare notes, phone surveys and a handwritten thank you note signed by all the nurses. Nice touch!

They knowingly left him soiled in bed for hours; mismanaged his medication (dangerous!); food inedible (therefore, lack of nutrition); given utensils w/ stuck-on food; nonattentive staff. The only times some changes were made was because I called the managers and complained. Things would go back to terrible w/in a few days. As soon as his insurance allowed it (took 3 appeals), I had him moved to Encompass rehab facility in Round Rock (which is fantastic). One lady down the hall would cry out for assistance for well over an hour to use the restroom. Other visitors would tell the staff (who could easily hear her calls for help) but they couldn't have cared less. My dad's roommate left as soon as he could, and another person I met took their parent out as soon as possible, too, even though for both of them it was earlier than suggested. They all went to other in-patient rehab facilities to complete their recovery. I looked at other patients, short-term and long-term patients, and none of them had smiles on their faces. To me, that's telling. Stay away from this place!

Told us if she needed help eating she needed to go to the dining hall!! If she were strong enough to get herself to the dining hall, chances are she could feed herself. Just unbelievable lack of care. She is a difficult patient but absolutely no excuse for staff behavior, errors, lack of caring, failure to do their jobs. Dumbfounded how this place is in operation. I pray the a-holes get a righteous dose of karma when they are relying on others to care for them!
