The Beaverton location of Canard is very attractive, and the food is delicious, but there wasn't enough of it. I left still hungry and joked that I should have eaten a snack before leaving for the restaurant, not a funny joke given the high price of eating out. Too few scallops in my entree, too few shrimp in my appetizer, and had it been for the thoughtful birthday gift of a dish of soft serve, I'd have needed to buy a snack before our nearby concert started. There's seating on two floors, however, even on Thursday night it was packed, so definitely make sure to secure a reservation. I got the passion fruit lime soda to drink, which was sour and refreshing. The burrata came with fruity chutneys and chili crisp. These sauces created a nice spicy, tangy, and salty flavor profile. The garlic naan that came with the burrata was a bit too toasted for my liking. For my main, I got the ricotta gnocchi. It was incredible. The chanterelles on top were delicious. The server said that they have a new cook on the fries and she would notify him. My husband selected this newer location for our early Valentine's Day dinner. They were noted for their James Beard award winning chef. So here we go! The Beaverton location Is housed in an old theater so looks deceiving from the outside. Don't let that stop you! This quaint bar is really a lovely restaurant that serves taste bud bursting food that should not be missed! We started with the oysters in the half shell and a pomegranate soda drink that the server recommended... plus a very delicious pear and goat cheese salad. Actually, everything we had our servers recommended and EVERYTHING was amazing! I had the braised rabbit that touted mashed potatoes with some sort of tomato sauce I cannot describe except to say I didn't know rabbit tasted so good. Wow--days later and my taste buds are still dancing. I honestly can't remember the last time I had a meal this memorable. I have no idea what they did to the roasted broccoli, but it was hands down the best I've ever had. I guarantee that if you're trying to get a child to eat broccoli, this is the dish that will do it--there's no way they'd turn it down. And then there was the shining star: the gnocchi. Not to be repetitive, but it was truly the best gnocchi I've ever had in my life. To top off an already amazing meal, we ordered the Black Forest Sundae--literally the cherry on top. My server Zaida was friendly and helpful. I ordered two of their Sliders and the omelet. Omg- Fantastic! The Sliders are like a high end White Castle- so good and cheesy! My husband and I went to Canard on Tuesday for our anniversary. The restaurant is really nice and lively but very hard to find parking. Staff were warm and friendly. We ordered the steak tartare, duck frites, crispy broccolini, and glazed pork rib. We didn't order the Oeufs but it was brought out as a gift. There was some confusion tho because lack of communication, we sent the server back since we didn't order it but later we were told it was a gift and she dropped it back off, which was sweet but I don't particularly like deviled eggs. The best dish was the crispy broccolini! It was delicious. The steak tartare was ok. The duck frites were a bit salty and kinda chewy. The glazed pork rib wasn't too bad but it felt kinda dry. Despite some confusion about whether we were getting a Pre Fix dinner or from their standard menu, we loved what we got from their main menu. I didn't realize when I booked the reservation that it was for the main dining area and not for their once a month Pre Fix dinner upstairs with the chef. This local restaurant right in downtown Beaverton offers some amazing dishes with a french accent. The restaurant is open in the morning to early afternoon for breakfast or brunch, and then reopens in the evening with a separate dinner menu offering different items. The menu is focused around duck based entrees, however, they have many other dishes to offer as well including steak and breakfast foods. I went for brunch with some friends and we ordered the garlic naan, duck stack, and steamed burgers. All the food was great but the pancakes with duck gravy was absolutely delectable and I would definitely recommend. The ambiance was fairly casual and they offer a full bar should you be interested in a drink. The server was very friendly and was quick to answer any questions we had regarding the menu. We have been to Canard in Portland once and knew immediately that we had to try the Beaverton location since it's much closer to home. We made reservations and were seated promptly when we arrived, definitely recommend reservations. The space is gorgeous! It has a beautiful bar, a large seating area, and even an upstairs with a little balcony. It was also tastefully decorated for the holiday. Our server was fantastic! She was super knowledgeable about the menu and answered all of our questions. We started with the Honey Roasted Apple Caesar, which wasn't really a caesar. I think I would have liked it better if I wasn't expected it to be a caesar. The dressing was kind of mustardy and the only thing remotely like a caesar was the romaine lettuce. I probably wouldn't order it again. We also had the oysters, which everyone loved. And we got the Hawaiian Rolls, which looked incredible, but they were VERY salty. I suspect there was maybe too much of the Shoyu Glaze. I see what they were going for, but I would pass on these. While the appetizers felt like a bit of a letdown, the mains were spectacular. My daughter and I got the Steak Frites which were a 10! The steak was cooked perfectly and the beurre rouge sauce had my daughter eating mushrooms, which she normally does not! The fries were also perfection. My friend got the Braised Rabbit which was recommended by the server and was so good! My husband had the Glazed Pork Short Rib, which was fall on a plate, so succulent and tender. We knew we wanted dessert so we went with the Black Forest Sundae and the Honey Lime Panna Cotta. The sundae was good, I did wish there was a chocolate sauce instead of chocolate chips. The panna cotta was weird, it had too many competing flavors, I think it would have worked better with just a vanilla panna cotta. The passionfruit caramel was also bitter, like maybe it was cooked a minute or two too long. Overall, I would absolutely come back for the mains and maybe give dessert another try. I'm not a fan of blue cheese but it was very mild and I enjoyed it. We also ordered the steak frites and short rib. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and the fries had a nice crispy touch. Its nice that they finally opened up a location in Beaverton. This place is larger than their original location. We came for brunch and everyone left satisfied. I had to get their steam burger and also their breakfast steam burger. The steam burger was just how I remembered it to be - super delightful. I tried the burrata and garlic naan as well. The oysters were so delicious I forgot about the mignonette sauce and ate them a squirt of lemon. It was perfect. They were a favorite for our table. We also enjoyed the broccolini with pecans. They were crispy and crunchy in a perfect mix of texture. We didn't feel rushed even though they were turning people without reservations away. Canard lives up to the hype. I was excited to try the Beaverton location since I have family there. We went for lunch. We had reservations, which I'd recommend since it seemed pretty busy. The space is nice: casual and elegant, and while I'm still sad over the demise of Beaverton Bakery, this is a worthy successor. We ordered duck gravy pancakes and beef dip sandwiches, and everything was delicious. There were lots of other intriguing things on the menu as well. I don't eat mammals, and while the men isn't huge, I still had plenty of great choices. None of us had room for dessert, which is a shame. Serve was outstanding: friendly and helpful but not cloying, and we didn't feel remotely rushed. Our entrees were delayed slightly due to a kitchen mishap of some sort, and although we weren't feeling impatient or out out at all, our waitress brought us a complimentary appetizer to apologize. Can't really add anything new to my review that others haven't already said so imo Canard lives up to the hype. We were lucky to find parking out front as even on 5:00 on a weekday their small lot and most of the surrounding spaces on the street were full. The greeting once we were in the door was friendly, we got seated quickly and met our server right away. She made a few recommendations and let us look over the menu for a perfect amount of time before taking our order. The food came out quickly but spaced nicely between apps (burrata and steam burgers)/drinks (rhubarb soda and wine) and mains (scallops and duck frites). One interesting thing to note: my scallops didn't look at all like the pics I saw from other reviewers on Yelp before we went. Not sure if they changed the components of the dish recently, but what I got seemed very different than what others have gotten/posted even recently as a week ago but NO complaints - they were AMAZING! If I had to find *anything* negative I would say that service slowed down quite a bit as it got later and the restaurant filled up but that happens a lot wherever we go and it wasn't enough to knock it down a star. I have been to all of them, but I think I prefer the Beaverton location, mainly because it is closer to my home in Tigard, but also because I have had great service (at all) and the staff remembers me! The food is fantastic! The Oeuf mayonnaise is a favorite of mine. I have been addicted since my first trip to Paris years ago!! The chicken liver pate is some of the best I've ever had. The frites! The crostinis with the chicken liver mousse were so hard they sliced my gums open. The duck frite was an amazing redemption, with a champignon sauce that was so salty and fries that were stone cold.
