Finally got to try this place out. When you first walk in you walk through big giant velvet curtains and everything is low dim red lighting. This place is on the smaller side, but we got to sit at the bar top. They have a nice menu, a huge whiskey selection And lots of food options as well. They had good music playing and a disco ball and an assortment of colored lights dancing around on the walls. The staff was very attentive and very nice! We definitely want to come back here and try more. This is a great spot for just cocktails, to get together with friends or part of a date night!

Snuggled between the public restrooms and a Thai shop, the entrance is narrow and easy to miss. Servers are attentive and friendly. It is dark, romantic, and swanky. Perfect for a date night or girls night out. The food was delicious. Prices are upscale, so we can't make it a regular visit, but great for specialty occasions.

Cool vibe! Shall and tasteful hideaway bar. Great bartender! We didn't order food but enjoyed the atmosphere! N cut door was a Brooklyn Tratoria which is phenomenal for dinner!!

The room alone almost made it worth my time. The English pea risotto was very good, and the house fries were good. The French-oaked flight I requested was a sad effort. The bartender never asked what distillers I had as options other than indicating that Makers 46 must be what I'm after when I said French oaked and creamy was my vibe, to which I raised an eyebrow and indicated I was ok if he started with that in my flight as a base for comparison. Otherwise he never asked whether I'd like to spend good money on something special (I would have said yes) and later claimed these were the only French-oaked bottles they even had in stock despite a claimed inventory of over 2,000 whiskeys. What arrived: Penelope Architect--nothing at all on the nose, something like wood paneling on the palate. Angel's Envy Triple Oak--tasted just like the Angel's Envy Rum Cask I can get at the supermarket. Maker's 46--the best of those three, yet still quintessentially basic as a wheated French-staved bargain buy, which, by the way, I never indicated I was there for. When I diplomatically indicated my that my flight was totally blasé and asked for one last pour in hopes of redeeming the experience, he brought me a redundant Maker's Heart Series in which the heart was made of mildly chocolate-inspired disappointment. Staff clearly put effort into educating and serving, and the environment is special enough that I hope to return with friends for that alone, even though I was rushed out due to a scheduled reservation needing my unscheduled seat. Ultimately the pours left me with an extremely unimpressive result and a future 0-for-2 that I'd be willing to risk in hopes of their redemption. Exceptionally impressive venue, if totally unimpressive flight curation.

Walked in around 5 pm on Monday. They were able to accomdate us with caveat we would need to be done by 6, which worked for us as we wanted drinks and a small snack. They did not rush us even with the time constraint. We ended up getting the lodge and the foggy notion. Both were good - I preferred the lodge as it allowed one to taste the whisky more. Most places at least in Seattle have a large ice cube with very little alcohol. This one you actually had room all around the ice cube and volume wise is worth the price in my personal opinion. There were very well done cocktails. The table next to us ordered one of everything on the food menu and we wish we had done the same as everything looked very good but alas we have reservations for dinner already.

I chose the Saville Painkiller Cobbler which was very similar to Piña Colada with Ube. The drink was such a pretty purple shade, dusted with purple sweet potato/taro powder, and served in a Pineapple shaped glass - so aesthetically pleasing and very easy on the palate! My husband got the Pandan Old Fashioned which was very delicious as well - silky, sweet, boozy with a strong Pandan forward profile. For snacks, we got the Shrimp Chips and the Whipped Ricotta with Soppressata that comes with a generous portion of 4 slices of Rustic bread. The shrimp chips were humongous and so light, airy and crispy with a delicate shrimp flavor. The presentation on the whipped ricotta was so beautiful, and it tasted so good with the Calabrian chili and Soppressata! Portland has no shortage of amazing cocktail bars, and this is another place I would come back to if I ever find myself in Portland again!

I have a few bottles of "the good stuff" stashed around my house that I always say I'll open during a special occasion - which never seems to arrive . It so happens that Alchemy has an extensive whiskey list which included a couple of my "reserve" bottles. This was the perfect opportunity for me to taste them. I had a flight of three delicious bourbon pours, THEN was told about a special rye whiskey which, well, I had to try as well. So much fun, I enjoyed each of my pours at a cost that didn't break my piggy bank. Meanwhile, my wife loved her mango margarita. We also had the ceviche and the smoked crab dip - the crab dish was especially good. All in all, a memorable evening. Recommended!

The menu doesn't match the one online but I still wanted to give it a shot. My husband got the burger and there is no other option than the side salad for it-- why no fries or something? Also when my husband ordered the burger the waitress said how would he like it cooked- he said medium. She says good that's usually how the cook does it anyways. It came out cooked all the way through. We were the only two people there. The board was good, drinks were very very mid. The restaurant itself has great potential but honestly the menu doesn't match and I felt 80$ didn't justify our dinner.

I was super excited to visit this one a few years later, and sure enough the beer selection was still amazing, and though it did cost more than last time, the food pricing was still pretty good. Unfortunately where it feel short was the food execution. The food took about 45 minutes to come out, and some of the items came a bit staggered. The corn dog spent too much time in the fryer and came out pretty crisp, not the shade you want to see your corndog. The Super smashburger we ordered didn't actually have smashburger patties, just regular, and then the Mcloyal that was ordered did have smashburger patties. So it wasn't a case of these don't seem like smashburgers, since we were able to compare the two. It was a Thursday night of a holiday weekend and it was pretty crowded, so the kitchen fell behind, not sure if it's always like that here. It's still a cool spot, they've got plenty of seating inside and out, all sorts of beers, and a full bar with a good cocktail menu. They're also kid and animal friendly, at least earlier in day/evening.
