This hotel is great and close to the 3 metro lines. There's lots of food options near by she that's always a plus after a long day of activity. My main complaint is the pool is small, with the understanding that urban cities have space constraints. This pool is 4 ft deep and would feel crowded with a couple people in it. I selected this location because of closeness to the metro and pool and the pool was a disappointment. read more

My experience here was overall great! The service from valet (for oversize vehicles) to ease of check out was simple. I will say though, the fact that you cannot reserve oversize parking before you arrive could be problematic for many. There are very few spots and it's luck of the draw if you get one. Nonetheless, everyone was very helpful and gave us great suggestions as me and my best friend hadn't been in the DC area in a long time! My room was quiet and facing a very quiet street, lucky me! The fitness center was nice although I did not use it this time. And the pool was almost always empty. I just lounged and didn't really use it. It's the city so even the suites are small compared to other hotels. But again, it's in the city! Definitely glad I opted for the larger size room. Much more comfortable. read more

Planned a local birthday weekend in DC as I always wanted to stay at the Westin Hotel. The check in process was seamless and absolutely loved the round about in front of the hotel. The rooms are very spacious with a pull out couch. The room was very clean. The hotel has a fitness center and a small rooftop pool. We utilized street parking at night as we were sightseeing around the town during the day. I will definitely return to this hotel for further lounging. read more

Stayed for a three day/two night visit in the Georgetown area. Great location near foggy bottom metro and close to bars/restaurants. The lobby is spacious with couches and chairs. Hotel staff were nice, but we had a couple issues during our visit. (Someone's underwear was left behind the curtain in the room and the housekeeping mistakenly took some wine glasses that were brought from home. Overall they offered a late check out for these instances. The room is a good size, but would have been nice to have two sinks in the bathroom, a light inside switch for bathroom and a bathroom fan. Our room overlooked the courtyard in which we were able to see a wedding occur. Beds were comfortable and air conditioning was good. read more

The Westin Georgetown in Washington D.C. offers supposedly an upscale experience, particularly appealing to business travelers and wedding parties due to its elegant courtyard and sophisticated ambiance. And basically that's all there is here. Comfortable heavenly bed, and convenient locations walking to Dupont Circle and Georgetown for restaurants and shopping. The pool on their website and I stages my is very deceiving, it's is at tiny as it would fit 3 people, very disappointed. And no view at all in all direction, just buildings! Nothing else in this hotel, very mediocre for what we paid $400+ a night. read more

Absolutely giant rooms! Stayed here for a few nights for work and had no complaints. The rooms were ginormous, including a full walk in closet, large bathroom, and plenty of floor space with a small balcony view. 5 stars for the service and drinks at the bar and lounge and 4 stars for the hotel. All I can say is WOW about my dining experience at the Westin Georgetown bar/lounge tonight (6/9/24). Suman is incredible! He is extremely accommodating, friendly, and makes amazing martinis. His customer service is top tier and his menu recommendations are fantastic (Caesar salad - add salmon). I would definitely come back anytime he is working. The hotel is also very nice and the location can't be beat as well. I stayed at the Westin Georgetown for a weekend 2-night stay in April 2023 as a T.E. member. The rooms are refreshed and the bed was comfortable - although I don't think it was a king. The room upgrades, despite availability in the app, were non-existent. The breakfast was one of the worst I've ever experienced at a property: washed/oily fruit and a pastry is $19. You can upgrade for an additional $15-20 per person for awful sausage and what might be powdered eggs. Finally, I checked out, confirmed my bill was correct, but 3 days later find a charge on my credit card for $40 for the initial day's breakfast charge. I called to try to get this fixed and either get sent to voicemail (no response) or some corporate business line. The above are a sign the management at this property have no idea the simple things that improve guest satisfaction and experience. read more

Beautiful older hotel with a lot of updates and remodeling. Our family had 2 rooms with a conjoined door and the space was roomy and very clean with comfort. It was quiet and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The hotel restaurant had a lot of great options including a kids menu which pleased my picky eaters. Starbucks is literally across the street and CVS is a block away. We were happy with the additional fridge delivered to our room to keep drinks and snacks cool. Overall great stay. We'd opt to stay there again if the opportunity presents itself. read more

I'm a Westin kind of girl. Love knowing there's a Heavenly Bed/Pillows waiting for me at the end of my day and Westin standards of great service. I do find this location a bit worn down. From the carpets as you exit the elevator to your room to the furniture, you would think that with Covid closures they would have taken the time to 'upgrade' a little but they didn't. A few changes here and there would make a huge difference. The location is in a cute part of town, West End/Foggy Bottom, with lots of food choices around, but if you're planning on visiting the big monuments (WH, Lincoln Memorial, National Archives, etc... ) it's a 3-3.5mile walk, each way. Wear comfy walking shoes or use Uber because we're walking 11 miles easy per day. Due to Covid all the restaurants in the hotel are closed- so no breakfast either and the pool they have is cute but not at all heated. Great organized walks & runs that you sign up for at front desk! read more

Had a wonderful experience attending a wedding at the Westin Georgetown! As a wedding venue, we really enjoyed the outdoor courtyard for the nuptials. From there, we walked a few feet indoors where drinks and hors d'oeuvres were served. One hour later, dinner and dancing commenced in the ballroom. The convenience of having everything in one place, combined with the intimacy of the property (there are not multiple events/ballrooms here like many other hotels) made for a memorable evening. We found both the food and service to be very good here. The property itself is very well maintained. The sleeping rooms are quite spacious and extremely clean. The heavenly bed was most comfortable. Although our room faced the street, traffic noise was minimal. Probably the only hiccup and the reason that kept me from not giving a perfect score, was the restaurant breakfast. Each day of our stay, the food on the buffet was in short supply and slow to be replenished. While the staff hustled and did the best they could, service was very slow, Ordering off the menu was also a lengthy process, too. For $18 (continental) and $32 (full buffet), the quality was also not up to Marriott standards. Last, I would like to commend the staff throughout this property. We found everyone to be positive and helpful. A specific shoutout to the Sr. Rooms Operations Manager, Mr. Paul Parvanov. Not only did he immediately address an issue that I brought to his attention, but was very hands-on during the checkout process. Kudos to him for jumping in on a Sunday morning, when all the guests are leaving at the same time. Thanks for a great time! read more

Right across from the fairmont and park Hyatt. Loads of walkable options and super refreshed rooms. We had a balcony as well which was really great. Meeting / Banquet Review; The destination for our Annual Staff Meeting & I was not impressed overall. The banquet department provided a good selection of breakfast & break items, yet the service was bearable. The staff came off as being aggravated each time someone would ask for something, such as lemon for the hot tea. One staff member actually barked at one of my co-workers as she tried to confirm where the Ladies' Room was located. Lunch; It's the Westin chain, that should be enough said...it isn't. Those who ate from the set menu didn't look to pleased, as many picked over their food. A few of us requested the Vegan option & we were presented with a plate of minimal...a few sliced& grilled veggies, a pinch of yellow rice, a drizzle of tomato sauce, equating to a tasteless consumption. Thank goodness for the Cholula Hot Sauce & my two scoops of raspberry sorbet for dessert, as that was the highlight of my meal. I do kindly appreciate the complimentary Granny Smith Apples the Concierge gave me on my way to the DuPont Metro Station-Red Line, which is a brisk 10 minute walk away. If we choose the Westin again, I do hope the experience will warrant an update & another star. read more

Let's start with the fact that this hotel isn't even in Georgetown... I stayed here for 3 nights last week, and to quote another guest that I was speaking to at the elevator after checking in, "This hotel has nothing." I am a Titanium Elite member with Marriott Bonvoy, and at every other hotel I've stayed at with this status, I've been given a voucher for a complimentary breakfast each day of my stay, or breakfast was provided in the concierge lounge. This hotel does not have a concierge lounge, and only offers to cover $20 of the $35 continental breakfast. Glad I didn't take the bait on this, because after reading the other reviews the food sounds lackluster. Self parking is $56+ a night...the garage is very narrow getting to and from the level that hotel guests park on. Set the temperature in my room to 65, but still woke up each night because of of how warm it was. read more

Spent two nights here for a destination wedding in Georgetown ($199.00 a night plus tax). Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Fitness center had over a dozen machines/stations to get your heart pumping. The getaway brunch in the hotel ballroom for the wedding guests was good. Eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, pastries, bagels, lox, coffee, juice, etcetera was a nice parting gesture by the wedding hosts. I would stay here again if in the area. read more

The staff is warm and friendly, Joseph at the front desk, made us feel most welcome. The elevators are the slowest I have ever experienced. There are three elevators and only eight floors. Therefore, you would think the wait times would be fast. Unfortunately, it was the opposite. The other area of feedback concerns the "Heavenly Bed". I am not sure if Westin changed the bed set up nationally or at this location, but the bed felt different. read more

(work) First, AJ & Shawnese at the front desk are STARS. THEY are the definition of EXCEPTIONAL. They are always quick to greet us with a warm smile and create small talk all the time..Every day my mother comes home from work either AJ or Shawnese greet her in the lobby (MRS.Gentry).. They are funny, and honestly.. She stops by the front desk just to talk with them while she's been here (10 weeks for work.. being away from the family is hard. That's why it's nice to have AJ & Shawnese to talk to her at the front desk.. they always trying to find my mother the best room. (She is very particular) Also at the front desk, everyone i have interacted with has been great. This morning they directed me towards the running trail and I could easily find it! Next, the bell stand. She has to report to work at 6am M-F. They escort her outside and wait for her car service to arrive..This is comforting, knowing someone is with her outside at such an early time. Next, the Caucus.. my mother eats here most days of the week. The older gentleman behind the bar already has her Coca-Cola waiting for her when she walks in. Small gestures like this go a long way! Room reviews: Some rooms are bigger than others. I am currently in a room with a king size bed and 2 spacious windows looking out towards the street! Last week I was given a tinier room ( didn't like it).. but I've heard 6,7th floors have rooms with longer hallways at the entrance. I'm hoping between now and the end of my visit.. I will have the chance to experience a suite!!!! :) Cons: the hotel gym is dark and isolated. Very small window or weight side of gym. I'm not sure who else I'm leaving out. The staff at the Westin Georgetown is great and I will happily continue my stay until June 2018. read more

I stayed here last weekend with my family as my husband was attending a conference here. First off, the parking attendants/valet (approx $56 a night! luckily the conference covered it for us) were very kind and polite. Check in was very easy. Elevators were fast, lobby was quiet and comfortable with a lot of seating, and our room was easy to find. The actual room was spotless and very comfortable. We brought our newborn baby with us on our first time away from home since he was born and he was very comfortable the whole stay! They even accommodated our request for a crib and it was ready for us in the room when we checked in. There is a large tub in the bathroom with quick-to-heat water also. The hotel was unexpectedly efficient with all our front desk requests, the fastest and best front desk service I've ever experienced actually. This included asking for early housekeeping. The housekeeper was also very kind and came back later when I wasn't ready for her and asked for 10 more minutes. Overall I had an excellent stay here that just flew by! I would love to stay here again. read more

Stayed here back in September 2015, for my sisters birthday celebration! The location is great. In walking distance of many attractions and restaurants. The door men are so sweet and lovely. Note no public parking valet 45 a night . The suite was super spacious. Had a sitting area, nice vanity, and huge bathroom. This hotel is very clean and safe. Now, there was an issue with a leak in the ceiling of our toilet area in the bathroom, and Nathan the hotel manager handled it very professionally and apologized many. This is a great place to stay for business a weekend getaway or a little R&R! 5 stars for me. :) read more

Excellent location right down from the shops in Georgetown. We walked from the hotel to our restaurants. No need to take a taxi.

Let me first say the staff at the Westin is lovely. Very pleasant and helpful. The gym is also great and I enjoyed the Peloton. Now: the bad, which unfortunately outweighs the good. The biggest issue was the temperature of the room. Anyone who's visited DC in the summer knows: it's hot and miserable. It was 90 degrees yesterday and yet the room temperature was set at 72 and would not go lower. We set the thermostat to 67 but it never went below 72. I woke up sweaty and did not enjoy a good night's sleep. Second, we had two adults on the reservation and the room had one bathrobe. The whole bathroom situation in general was disappointing: when I went in to take a shower there was a big clump of someone else's hair stuck to the wall of the shower, which tells me the room had not been properly cleaned. There was paint chipping off the back of the door, and only enough toiletries for one person. Also no basics like q tips and a shower cap were provided. I paid $180 for THIS? Finally, wifi. I can get wifi for free at most restaurants, and expect it to be standard with a reservation. Not so at the Westin. If you book through a third party website (which I did) it costs $15.95. This doesn't incentivize me to stop using third party websites, it incentivizes me to not stay at the Westin. If you don't want to feel like you've been ripped off, stay elsewhere. read more

There are so many hotels in DC to choose from! My husband chose this hotel because he's a member of the chain and it was close to the Georgetown Hospital where I was having surgery. The room was a nice size, we were lucky enough to get a corner room with two walls of windows. We had a little noise from M street but I had my ear plugs with me. The big reason why I've given it only two stars, and I hate to do this because the service here was good, but I'm a bit OCD about cleanliness and this place drove me nuts. Every wall around the commode had long drips down them, the shower had mold, the carpet had spots of some purple stuff between the beds and the faucets leaked over the counter tops. I was also allergic to something in the bedding, so if you're allergy prone, just a note. The "green" feature, when you pull your room key out and it shuts down electricity to the room, shuts down the internet and all device charging. My husband called for assistance from the IT department listed with the login error each time he needed Internet access. I gave up and paid an additional $15 for data roaming on my tablet. There's a fully stocked little fridge and tray on the counter above it, if you move any items you're immediately charged for it. There's no room to put any of your own items in the fridge and if you do, you'll be charged $100. It's all weighted. They'll bring you another fridge but again, up charge. Even the ice bucket is one of the smallest I've seen, my husband barely fit the single serving bottle of orange juice he bought for the morning. As I said, the service here is good. Friendly staff. We ordered room service a couple of times and it was very prompt and friendly service, so I hate giving the 2 stars but I would not return. read more

Have stayed before & will return BUT would do a couple of things differently: 1). Make sure alarm set by previous guest is OFF bc I learned the hard way that the housekeeping staff doesn't do this. Ugh. 2). Request room that doesn't face 22 because it is LOUD at night. I put in ear plugs & that didn't even do the trick. Also, small detail but annoying - I was told by the front desk that I was entitled to one free drink per day since the destination fee covers internet access & I already have that with my Marriott status....yet when I went to grab the drink, the worker at front desk told me that wasn't the case. So, clearly the staff doesn't communicate with one another. After barely getting any sleep last night, was just a mild annoyance that one would think they'd remedy. Oh well! On the plus side, the bed & bedding is very comfortable. Location is pretty good, depending on what you're coming to town to see. read more

Imagine getting a confirmation number from a hotel, imaging CALLING to confirm that yes, you are coming, your child has a graduation the very next morning so you are excited to get a good night's sleep. Imagine arriving in the evening only to find out that THE HOTEL GAVE AWAY YOUR ROOM. There are no rooms left. TOUGH COOKIES. Imagine having to talk to the front desk person for another half hour, telling them we chose this location because it is close to the graduation venue, PLEASE can we stay here. We confirmed that we were coming earlier. The answer was NO. Imagine having to trek across town just to check into another room late at night and then having to get up very early in the morning to trek all the way back across town to make it to the original location, that was close to the graduation venue. We were TOO EXHAUSTED TO ENJOY our child's graduation because of the Westin Georgetown's incompetence and dishonesty. How much are moments with your family worth to you? I had a really lovely stay here, made even better by the phenomenal rate I got through my work perks. The location is a 15 min walk to Georgetown and a 10 min walk to the Foggy Bottom metro stop. Our check in/out experience was smooth. The room was clean, the bed comfy...and the bathroom was the bomb! It had a separate shower and enormous soaking tub, which was perfect after walking 10 miles that day. A soft robe and high quality toiletries, plus bottled water were on the house. Hubs had beers at the bar, which were expensive (it's downtown D.C., so no surprise) and he said the bartender was great. We used spot hero for a parking space, which was the same rate and location as the hotel uses, but was good for 36 hours. read more

This is a bit of a strange hotel, definitely one of the more awkward Westins I've run across but a fine stay overall. Great location, high prices, but if you're on vacation and have Starwood points then you'll only pay 12,000 points per night which is a pretty good deal in DC. And for your Platinum amenity, the breakfast gets you a $20 per person credit per day at the restaurant off the lobby which is worth much more than 500 points (unfortunately, they don't have a Club Lounge which is very unusual for a Westin). The rooms are fine, you've got a comfy Westin Bed as expected and a nice bathroom but the layout of my suite was very strange and I wasn't excited about the decor which was a bit dated. Strangely enough, the desk was in the bedroom, while the tiny living room had a chair, couch, and table crammed into a triangle shaped area with a massive TV which was about 5 feet away from wherever you might be sitting. Good for watching a move I guess, but I'd prefer to have a separated desk for when I needed to get up early in the morning to work and didn't want to wake my wife. Oh well. I would probably stay here again, it's a nice hotel in a good location but the little things put it a bit below my usual Westin expectation. Still A-OK, but don't expect to be blown away here despite a generally hefty price tag which of course is common in the District. read more

And although your crab dip made with gouda and served with tortilla chips and bread was not as impressive as I had imagined, it was still good enough for me to eat just about every last bit. Friendly staff helped with bags, smiled, gave advice on the area. Clean and modern rooms with view of M Street. Solid happy hour specials 4-7 in the hotel restaurant. And this is going to sound dumb but the bowl of apples (mixed variety) was a great touch. I am so used to the plain green apples in front desk bowl after living in hotels for a year that it is truly refreshing to have a mixed variety bowl. This was just a great hotel experience. I wish my corporate rate would fall into this range more often. read more

I say awesome bathrooms because they come with giant bathtubs and enough wattage that I can see every pore on my face with crystal clarity. FYI: Don't forget your key in your room at night. Not only will you obviously be locked out but you can't even ride the elevator back up to your floor without it! You'll have to stand around awkwardly waiting for someone else to use the lift and then slip in like a creeper. read more

Great, modern, and comfortable hotel to stay at. I've been here weekly, and the staff is friendly and recognizes you when you return, so it feels more homely. The gym is great (although lacking in cardio machines because in the morning it can get crowded) and the rooms and bathrooms are nicer than Marriott bathrooms since it is more modern. The beds are also the most comfortable to sleep on. One drawback is the lack of channels! I've heard complaints from other stayers looking for simple channels like USA, or other semi premium channels that give customers the opportunity to watch shows they like. read more

The extremely central location makes this Westin worthy of five solid yelperrific stars. It is a mere 15 minute walk from DuPont Circle and an even shorter walk (or jog, if you prefer to travel that way) to the Georgetown shopping center. Seriously, the location can NOT be beat. There's a great selection of restaurants nearby, lots of monuments within walking distance, and an abundance of late night establishments if you are in DC for pleasure. If you are a jogger, there is a great running trail (rock creek park trail) down the street and across the bridge from the hotel. It extends along the Potomac river and you can go as far as the Lincoln memorial if you so choose. Pretty fantastic. Only downside: They do not offer free guest parking. Instead, they contract out to a 3rd party parking lot/valet service which is between $30-45/night depending on if you self-park or valet. We were able to find parking on the street though and ended up leaving our car there all weekend. If you are coming into the city on a Saturday afternoon - that would be the most cost-efficient method of parking since street parking on Sunday is free. With Priceline, I paid $110/night. A sweet deal for the location and caliber of the hotel. read more

My wife and I contracted to have our wedding with The Westin Georgetown. I dropped my vehicle off with the valet. The morning after my wedding when we were checking out, the valet brought the vehicle around and I noticed immediately that they damaged my leather steering wheel leaving cut marks on the wheel. I contacted the manager and the manager brought security. They took a report and pictures. The front desk manager referred me to their parking contractor, SP+. They delayed processing my claim for weeks and no one returned my call. Then the pandemic hit. When I followed up a few months later about my claim, the company again didn't respond to messages and I had to circle back directly to the Westin and ask for a direct contact. After emailing that contact, she replied denying my claim because their "investigation into this matter yielded no evidence that SP+ was negligent in this matter." They damaged my wife and my vehicle and during our wedding no less and then refuse to resolve the situation. And what was a happy and beautiful memory is tarnished by their refusal to accept responsibility. Don't patronize The Westin Georgetown because they can't seem to handle the little things. They have certainly left me hanging in dealing with this. read more

I got a great deal to stay here last weekend. The room was very spacious although there was weird random noises while I was trying to sleep. I dont know if my wall was to the street or what but it was kinda annoying. The hotel is huge so we enjoyed knowing there was a workout facility and a pool although we didnt go. There is a high level of security so dont go anywhere without your room key. I was pleased to find self parking under the hotel for about $30 a night which isnt too bad in DC. the staff was generally friendly and emailed my final receipts, which is eco-friendly and convenient! Breakfast buffet downstairs was also pretty tasty although they need to season the eggs a bit better. The selection was good and the price was right too. My favorite was the bathtub. I took a long hot bath and it felt amazing. I would stay here again if I could get another good deal! read more

Mr Man and I stayed here March 2011 for his birthday trip. When I booked (through Southwest Vacations), the room details said it would have a King Bed. However, when I checked in, they said I reserved a double-bed room. They were nice enough to change our room to a King room...a King "handicap" room. I've stayed in handicap-friendly rooms since my father usually needs these accomodations so it wasn't a big deal to me. I'm not sure if it was because we had the handicap room or not...but DAMN our room was HUGE. We had an extended hallway IN our room - and a HUGE bathroom with more room that we knew what to do with! For every day you do not ask for towel/sheet change/service, they give you a $5 voucher to use in the hotel (we used these at the bar). Don't be leery that the hotel's name includes "Georgetown" and that you may be far from all the tourist attractions in Washington DC - The hotel is only a couple of blocks from the Foggy Bottom Metro station (where they usually have a food truck outside - great for late night trips home!) There is also a Walgreens or CVS right down the block from the hotel so you can also go pick up anything you need. It is also walking distance to Dupont Circle and only a mile to Georgetown university. In my opinion, this location was prime to everything we wanted to see. We also happen to stay at the hotel during Earth Hour 2011 where the hotel turned off/dimmed their lights for one hour. They served free sushi and discounted beer/wine, plus handed out a free water bottle during that time. We were also a HUGE fan of their bar/lounge - we were there practically every night! Our bartender was so friendly and introduced us to our now favorite beer - Yeungling. (DAMN YOU YEUNGLING FOR NOT SELLING TO THE WEST COAST!!) If you go to the bar and have room for dessert, I HIGHLY recommend their ice cream-waffle dessert! I'm sure there is so much more to say about this wonderful hotel but I just cant remember right now =) If you are visiting DC, I highly recommend staying here rather than pay $$$$ for a smaller room or possibly a crappier hotel in DC read more
