Went in on Saturday 13th and was immediately approached and told there were no tables available. I totally get it we needed to wait for a table. So we set at the little chairs by front door waiting for a table to open. This is when a second employee told us we couldn't sit there as it blocked the aisle??? WTF? Why are there chairs there then? She rudely told us that we needed to stand outside in the 5 degree temp until a table opened. Both employees had terrible people skills and were not polite. I would suggest going elsewhere read more

I have been coming to this place for years hoping that one time I order food, it isn't horrible. However every time it seems to get worse. The cooks here are NOT good and no effort is put into even basic items on the menu like a burger. I've tried a variety of food items and they are all not very good. This restaurant has even served me frozen pasta before. It's beyond me how people still eat here, but I would say the atmosphere is good and it can be a fun place to watch sports. Went to this bar to watch the UW vs Michigan game. It was our first time and we are not regulars. Its a big game there were a lot of people inside including many in the pathways yet two separate servers asked us and only us to move. The first time we were in the bar area and due to the excitement and because we were still feeling our way inside the establishment we didn't realize we weren't suppose to be in the narrow pathway. We had been standing there for about a minute. Excuse us. We moved right away while the server didn't tell anyone else to move even though they were in the pathway as well. The second time we were standing in front of one of the giant screens because there's not much space. We were told AGAIN to move. We're not big people we were not blocking the GIANT projector screen and preventing anyone from seeing nor bothering anyone yet they have this aggressive vibe towards us for no reason. I get it was a busy day and they might have be overworked from the capacity crowd but when you're in the service industry how about service a little? We were there to watch the game but we were still CUSTOMERS and we would've ordered some drinks if they had asked. Nah just treats us like we're bums. Best wings in Seattle that I've had. Unfortunately the service is below par. I came on a busy night as well as a slower night and my experience was similar. Slow service, condescending waiters, and overall lack of care. I don't like to feel like I am bothering someone when I ask for water, another beer, or a check. A large sigh never makes anyone feel welcome. The first time I went the waiter forgot my order. When I asked about the status, they claimed I had never ordered food....... Solid sports bar - a much needed addition to Ravenna!! My friend and I were looking for a spot to watch the game and I had driven by The Westy numerous times without ever stopping in. We decided to give it a go today as they have lots of great tvs for games. We were a little worried that there was a line out the door before kickoff, but fortunately most of the folks were there for a different game. We easily got a spot at the bar in front of a beautiful tv for the hawks game and spent the next 3 hours enjoying the food, drink, and excellent game on tv. My friend lives all the way out in Mukilteo and said she would be willing to come out here again to watch the game with me - whoo hoo!! That says a lot about how great our experience was here. My veggie scramble was really good - full of protein. I ordered the Morningstar veggie sausage patties on the side in case I needed any additional protein but I most certainly did not. I could barely finish the meal as it was super filling - but I definitely enjoyed every last bit of it. Looking forward to future visits! read more

I have found bones in my chicken tacos, had overdressed salads, burnt fried chicken and broccoli that tasted like melted plastic. Not sure what is going on, their sister restaurant in West Seattle never disappointed but this one is not cutting it for us. We have tried it about 8 times Only once were we happy. I've been here 3 times. The first was great, the second, not bad, today was awful. Ordered veg Benedict, arrived with meat. Reordered the veg, and got soggy muffins, no seasoning ...Inedible. My boyfriend ordered the breakfast tacos, which came with cilantro(not mentioned on the menu). He can't eat cilantro. I really want to like this place, great location, nice atmosphere and great prices!!! However both times I have been there, once for brunch and once for a late night dinner, the food has been sub par. For brunch, I ordered one of the eggs Benedict options. The only thing that wasn't luke warm in the plate was the freshly poached egg, which made me thing the food had been sitting. For dinner, I ordered the black bean burger. It was a pretty sloppy looking burger as soon as it came to the table, which is fine but not ideal. The huge gigantic piece of lettuce was sliding off, as well as the tomato that was sliced much too thick. The black bean patty itself seemed to just fall apart, which might indicate it's homemade and not a frozen patty, but it ultimately lead to a pretty sloppy burger. My boyfriend has the c and c po boy and was also not impressed. All he could say was "well we are a long ways from New Orleans". Anyway, I might give the Westy one more try, given the prices and location and atmosphere , fingers crossed the food will improve! read more

We came to watch some college football and were having a great time. Our waiter was short with us, but we were trying to overlook this. In the middle of our meal we had a hard time getting our waiter Chris' attention to let him know that he had forgotten to bring part of our order. From our seats we could see probably about 6-7 different TVs and most of the restaurant seemed that way so not a bad seat in the house! We got wings to share, the pterodactyl wings. A local neighborhood restaurant and a Kraken partner restaurant we were extremely disappointed by the food. Not one to give out bad reviews, the food experience was so bad that perhaps someone from the establishment will read the review and take note and up their game. A local pub, with good food would be great in the neighborhood. Starting with the wings, the chicken was tough. Worst wings I've ever eaten and didn't know you could screw them up. Plus they had some sort of weird taste that lingered for hours. Burger was just passable. We had ate a burger recently at an airport brew pub eatery which was far superior and that wa an airport where food rarely is top notch. I had the Pancit which has chicken and appeared to be made of the same bad tasting and tough chicken that the wings were from, not to mention bland and season-less. Wine served to the brim in a small canning jar. Cool look but absolutely the wrong way to serve wine from an aeration perspective. On the plus side services and employees were great and good selection of drinks. Apparently go their for the bar and not for food. We doubt we will return. Our prior visit was okay but not bad. We arrived right before 11:00am on Friday to watch the World Cup (Brazil v. Belgium). We were greeted at the doorway and told the bar would open shortly. The bartender was super sweet and attentive. Don't judge but I ordered the barbacoa tacos. They were pretty darn good. A lot of meat but I didn't love the flour tortillas. The pickled onion and cilantro added to the taste. We had a few beers, red ales and brown ales. All really good. Cold. A lot of fans showed up and were cheering so it was a lot of fun. There are many TV's and I believe they show all the hot sporting events. It's in a residential area so there isn't too much trouble to get into while you're there but it's a nice neighborhood. Only thing I found....cringy: The prior bar had two somewhat separated areas (restaurant vs. "bar-bar") which was logical especially for weekends or after Husky games. A sign outside touts being family friendly and literally tells kids to come in, that they're all ages (with a high school a block away). Kids at breweries/taprooms is one thing, but this place is sports bar vibe with a full front bar. I'm just saying, someone (parents/kids or the people trying to get a load-on) always gets whiny when the two groups coexist in a close proximity. Before walking in, the implied and explicit invitations to both groups made me wonder: is it going to be more families in here, or is it going to be sports fans taking tequila shots and (not quietly) watching March Madness? This place is great and easily missed if one isn't paying attention while driving along 65th Avenue NE. The food is awesome and initially one would think it's only a bar, but it's more than that. It's an amazing place to watch any sports game because they have a ton of TVs, but also an amazing a lot to get an good bite to eat. The staff is first class and so is the food. Additionally, they have a back room with skee ball and a few other fun arcade games for all ages that make the place the perfect stop for all ages.
