We sat on the patio to enjoy the view and of course you don't have that chance all year long. The tables inside were almost full and it was loud; everyone was enjoying a nice meal and the company. The staff are nice and friendly. We ordered "Shrimp Taco", "Seafood Linguini with Alfredo Sauce", "Battered Haddock", "Salmon New Orleans" and "Sautéed Shrimp". We started with the Brussels Sprouts Cesar Fritti. It was very good and tasted amazing. I had the shrimp al limone and it was super delicious. My friends had the Napoli pizza and Roasted garlic Alfredo, The pizza was super amazing. The Alfredo was made vegetarian and turned out very good. I would love to come back to this place. (And I am sorely sorry to those who had different experiences!) I came to learn recently that Birdy's has come under new ownership within the last year or so. As such, the menu has changed and the quality of the food has more certainly dropped. We used to go there pretty often for special occasions. Birthdays, meetings, etc. Before, the menu boasted variety and class in Belleville that could not top other restaurants. Yet in dining here again in June, 2024, I am sad to say that they have eradicated a good majority of their menu for "basic" and mundane pallets. My spouse and I used to go for their vegan options which surpassed most other places we've tried, yet were surprised to find that the stroganoff we often eat was no longer there. Half the vegan menu was erased. Instead replaced by the simplest and cheapest of curries and another dish. Two options. Two, compared to the four-five that were given before. Also very curious to claim it as a vegan dish when the kitchen nor the new owners have read the packaging on the pita bread that accompanied it. (It was not Vegan so if vegans are eating here, please beware!!) The portions were also a bit small for the extravagant prices. It was one of our favourites and I hope to see return to what it was prior to the ownership change, but it is clear that the new owners are less inclined to think about quality and more inclined to think about the profit it generates. One server in the entire restaurant, and he was also the bartender. Too much for only one person to be able to manage. By the time half of us were able to place our drink orders, the other half had already ordered and been served their drinks. Caesars were mostly ice, with very little "Caesar". Two of us were excited to order liver, bacon, and onions as we rarely see it on menus. Plates arrived with liver, (garlic?) mashed potatoes, one piece of broccoli, one piece of cauliflower, and extremely undercooked carrots that neither of us could eat as they were so hard. There was only a very passing acquantance with onions, with only a couple of visible bits of onion in the gravy on my plate. Both plates were delivered with steak knives. My slices were very thin and extremely tough. When you can barely manage to cut through a thin piece of liver with a steak knife, that's a problem. The woman beside me, who had also ordered liver, thoughly enjoyed hers, and said it was tender and delicious. I will agree with "delicious", as I couldn't fault the flavour. Mine, however, was far from being tender. I had to fight to cut through it, even with the steak knife. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meal. Not sure I would try Railside again if ever in the area.

I enjoyed the dish, but was a little thrown off with the tomatoes, and found the mashed potatoes to be too salty this time. I was the only customer dining in that night, and the bartender was pleasant, although she was talking on the phone while working. I understand it wasn't busy, and it could be with management, but regardless, it is unprofessional to make calls while customers are present.
