I noticed alot of the reviews of this place arent really about the food but are about the view and the park nearby and family outings. The quality of food here is low. The brownies in the sundaes look like they were pulled out of a little Debbie's bag. The waffle bowls look and taste like they are shipped in by the hundred. These two things are things I expect to be homemade at a good ice cream store. The guy working the store tried to make fun of us because we were "lost in the menu"... Why not instead of making fun of customers you give us a recommendation on whats popular or your favorite? Instead I had to ask what we should get as he chuckled. Not impressed. Also, for the extra dollar, get the double not the single. read more

Stopped in here after dinner at 8:55 and they closed at 9pm , the lady who waited on us was extremely friendly and helpful, not rushing to get us out !!! The ice cream is hand dipped and the portions where large , the scenery of downtown Louisville was amazing!!!!! read more

This is a very nice, small ice cream shop. They have good sized shakes and the staff was very friendly. The wait for the shake was a little long, but I came with a student group and we overwhelmed the shop just a little bit. There is outdoor seating with a great view of the Ohio River and the skyline of Louisville. Would definitely recommend on a nice day. My son and I met an old friend and had some catching up to do. We decided on the Widow's Walk. Great atmosphere. The ice cream was fantastic and was rivaled only by the customer service received from the owner and one young lady with a great work ethic. We enjoyed our time there. Closed it down and had a great conversation with the owner to finish the evening. Very impressed how this business is ran and operated. Nothing but respect. If you want some of the best treats and atmosphere come on out and give it a try. You won't be disappointed. This isn't our first trip there and it definitely won't be our last. Great service, great prices, great view. What more can you ask for? My favorite little place to visit on a warm summer's evening. I highly recommend the dreamsicle shake-- delicious! The family and I rented 4 bicycles yesterday despite the sprinkling weather and had an amazing time. We rode around the bike trail for a little over an hour, got some great pictures and then enjoyed a couple huge sundays. There were 4 of us so we bought two to split and that was plenty. I suggest the Proud Mary sundae that is chocolate and peanut butter. The staff there was so helpful and friendly. Awesome place! read more

Very tasty ice cream!! Mint chocolate chip; peach and peanut butter are pretty classic flavors and they were all spot on! The raspberry sorbet was also refreshingly delicious! Only negative: the cones were stale but in their defense, the humidity has been about 9000%. read more

I love this place! Beautiful view too! This ice cream shop has changed over the years. It used to be housed in the Victorian house and has since moved to a smaller space right behind the house. So do your best not to walk into the hair salon that is now there and stare like a goober while your brain tries to register the difference between hair salon and ice cream parlor. Doh! The ice cream is delicious and they make all kinds of wonderful sundaes and mixtures with really fun names. And why I didn't take a picture of the menu is beyond me! Dang-it! Also they have a few concrete tables off to the opposite side where you can sit and enjoy your creamy goodness while the kids run up the flood wall easement and pretend to jump to their deaths on the other side. (It is about a two foot drop but if you don't know that, it looks like they are gonners when they jump!) The kids LOVE this place and so do I! read more

We rented two bikes from WW during a quick trip to Louisville. The shop is located across the river in Clarksville, IN-about a 10 minute drive from downtown. They have a few different options: men's, women's, adult trycicles, kid's, and adult bikes w/ baby carriers. We initially tried the tandem, but that didn't work out for us-much more difficult to navigate than it looks. I'd recommend WW b/c of its location and friendly proprietors. A 1/2 mile to the left is the Louisville Big Four pedestrian bridge that spits you out onto Waterfront Park. From there, you can ride into the city or along the riverwalk. It's a breezy, enjoyable little ride. We then rode back to WW and went the opposite way down the Ohio River trail. It's a mostly flat trail that follows the Ohio River Falls and through the small town of Clarksville. read more

It would be impossible not to love The Widow's Peak with its old fashioned charm. The owners are extremely customer oriented, treating brand new customers like familiar friends. Their bike rental has a decent selection of bikes for men, women, and children. During my first rental the owner took time to ensure that the seat was the proper height for me and that I was comfortable on the bike that I had chosen before I ever left the lot. The shop sits right on the Fall's of the Ohio and the greenway so it was easy to take an hour ride without ever having to use public streets. The Widow's Peak also sells amazing ice cream sundae's which make a perfect after ride snack. This place is so charming and fun that I highly recommend it for dates or as a family activity. read more

Great view and cute little spot to grab some ice cream and sit outside. It was beautiful outside today when we went. I got Moose Tracks and it was so delish. Their lack of hospitality is the reason for the 2 stars. The ice cream was worth a 4 star rating. I have 3 children that needed to use the bathroom but was told "no" because we didn't use the coffee shop even though we spent $23 for ice cream at the ice cream stand. I can understand not letting non paying people use the bathroom but if I'm dropping $23 on ice cream you should let my kids use your bathroom. Won't be back. read more

My family loves this place. We've been going there for years. We have a 5 year old that we take to the parks down on the river all the time and if his behavior is good, we stop here for an ice cream. My husband and I were out looking for a place off the beaten path. I had seen a picture online of the colorful Victorian house and was immediately intrigued. At first was disappointed when I realized the ice creamery was not actually in the house but in a small shack out back. My husband and I each ordered one of their signature sundaes...- single version... And it was awesome. My husband had dark chocolate ice cream and birthday cake ice cream on top of 2 WARM brownies. Oh my gah. I can't wait to go back and try their milkshakes, smoothies, waffle comes, or even some of their food! The burgers and hot dogs also looked amazing. If I haven't sold you enough, it's located across a perfect look out spot where you can set on a bench and have an amazing view of the Louisville skyline. Super cute little ice cream shop right on the river. This is one of the best views of the Louisville skyline, too. The ice cream was very good. It's a sweet, cream hard packed premium type ice cream. We did feel bad for the worker because the ice cream wasn't easily accessible to her so she had to go from room to room but she was very friendly & quick about it. We loved taking it outside & sitting on the porch to eat & watch the water go by. It would be fun to come back & do a walk or bike ride along the river then stop for ice cream again.
