After asking if they were closing, we were told they were just cleaning up from the rush and we were welcome to have a seat anywhere. The waitress arrived promptly at our table and patiently answered our menu questions and gave recommendations. This was a testament to her kindness and warmth as she could've easily been eager to end her shift and leave as it was 25 minutes prior to closing for the day. When ask about the special of the day, she provided an honest response, which was appreciated. Her recommendation of the fish was spot on. It tasted fresh and was prepared nicely. She checked on us multiple times and never seem rushed or hurried. The cook later came out after the closing sign was turned on and chatted with us. It was like we were local residence warmly welcomed on a routine visit. Enough can't be said about their staff - like Mayberry. Though the menu isn't broad, it is sufficient and has a variety of choices. A daily special, even on the weekend is a nice addition. The interior is small and definitely not modern with needed upgrades. This is the only negative of my visit. It is a diner, with few booths and few tables.
