Even if you don't have kids, this boutique is sure to make you want to find a kid to buy something…read morefor. Maya Papaya is primarily a clothing store, and let me tell you...it's cuuuuute and the owner is super sweet. I've been coming here for years, and though my kiddos are too old now for the clothes, they still have a small selection of gifty items, fun for all ages. From trivia card games to books, their section of toys is geared toward the younger crowd. The clothes are well-edited, and you'll find a fairly mid-to upper scale collection of both boys and girls clothing and onesies for infants with cute sayings like *Bundle of Oy*! And, they also carry adorable shoes. For the parent who wants to take a chill moment, they also have a nice seating area where you can take a break from the kiddie rat race. This store used to be down the street and around the corner. Their new location is much bigger and right on the corner. I've never had a problem getting rockstar street parking out front, but take note, there is a small step up for those with strollers. But, I'm sure Simone will be more than happy to hold the door :-)

Received a gift from this place, gift wrapped by this place, and tried to return it last weekend…read more The lady working said it could not be returned because there was no gift receipt. I asked if she could look up the items in her inventory to see what the price was so I could get credit and make an exchange. The items were all unused with original tags on them. Nope, still nonreturnable. So basically, a friend buys a gift, the store doesn't put a gift receipt in when they wrap it, and then they forbid you to return it. Also, the entire store smells like cat food.

It's a cute store. It first caught my eye a few years ago because of the beautiful mural by Ryan…read moreTova Katz, perhaps my favorite muralist. I didn't realize it was a consignment store and probably wouldn't have stopped in had I known that, but I'm glad I did. I bought a cute little rain slicker for my daughter and I almost can't wait until spring so she can wear it. There's a lot of clothing and she has them sorted well so it's easy to find the sizes you're looking for. In the back, she even has a dollhouse which I think isn't for sale, but is for kids to play with. Maybe I'm wrong about that, though! There's lots of toys and tchotchkes here too. I bought some little bath bombs that look like donuts because I think my kiddo will be amazed when they start to fizz. I also picked up some crayons and a couple other things. There's no parking lot but you may find parking along Montrose or Ashland. The entrance is a little funny; it opens at street level but there's a steep ramp down to the store, which is below grade. I assume that like many shops at this level it had steps to get down and as a children's store, a ramp definitely would be in order to accommodate strollers. But it is indeed a bit steep so be mindful of that.

I'll just echo what others have said about this place so they have a recent well deserved review…read more Still amazing friendly service, wonderful options, and at good prices. They were so welcoming of my chaos with my two toddlers. I've never been to a better children's consignment store. Like someone else said, it really is a Chicago gem.

It made it so much easier for me to make this order, especially with a kid who's potty training (so I wanted to be as efficient as possible with the trip). I don't have the app or a login but they were gracious enough to help me anyway and indeed were very helpful. The clothes I picked up are super cute and fit kinda well now but will fit very well in a couple months. Lots of parking since it's in the middle of the Village Crossing shopping center. It's on the side near Michaels and Jewel. If you use curbside, they have a couple of dedicated parking spots for you.

So this is a review from a first time shopper at carters and first time buying baby/kids clothes.Very wide variety of clothes for boys and girls!!! Wish they had more space to hold more sizes.Good assortment of clothing, but you get a sticker shock because all clothing labeled with a very high price. Price does come down with all their discounts and you can check online for additional discounts. Excellent quality clothing for good prizes, there shoe collection is very nice as well, also if you sign up for rewards for every 100$ spent you get a 10$ reward and can be used at osh kosh to I got a lot of help from Lynn who was courteous and patient with me since I was buying gifts for 3 different age babies. The stuff here is completely amazing, Susie was amazing she remembered us from our last trip in and was an amazing help. My daughter has an amazing personal shopper. I would shop at this store again. Would definitely recommend it.

Downstairs is "the vault", which features sizes up to 14/16 with sales up to 40% (maybe more depending on the time of the year). The vault is sectioned by sizes. At the bottom of the stairs is a clearance size with the discount percentage for the entire room. I visited in early October 2024 and there were many discounted spring/summer styles, with a few sweaters and sweatpants options. There's a couch in the middle of the floor to take a break or for your children so you can shop uninterrupted. The fitting room is upstairs toward the back of the store. Enjoy cute trinkets near the check-out register, plus the cutest wrapping paper that can be purchased. Sarah, the buyer and manager I believe, was so sweet and helped me hide some gifts from my daughter after she identified things she wanted. It's woman-owned, minority-owned and has a woman's boutique right next door, 16 suitcases.
