Lovely people, outdoor space, and food! We loved the shakshuka. And they were happy to put the lasagna in our own Tupperware for take away. Easy peasy camping dinner! I am a little late on my review, but we came through Red Lodge and stopped at The Wild Table for lunch when most other places were closed. I'm quite happy about that since this place ended up being amazing! What we got: *Huckleberry Hand Pie - This was wonderful - served warm before our meal, so we ate it right away instead of waiting until after lunch. We loved it so much that we took two to go. *Huckleberry Lemonade - my husband and I shared, but we should have had our own as it was easy to drink! *Bison Reuben - my husband loved this! *Moraccan Chicken Pie - I wasn't sure how I was going to like a cinnamon/ginger sweet spiced chicken pie with raisins, but it was outstanding. Passed through Red Lodge, MT on a Monday morning and found that many businesses are closed on Mondays. I drove up and down the main street looking for place to eat, saw that The Wild Table Was one of few places open, and stopped in blindly. I have to say that I could not have been more pleased! We were greeted by the most friendly lady who also helped us with the menu. They have a great food selection with typical brunch food and some very unique options. We showed some interest in the curry chicken salad, and she told us she makes it herself, so we had to try it! It was very good! Tasted very fresh, creamy, and nicely curried! We also tried the Moroccan Chicken pie and it was delicious! It was hot, flaky, and had a nice curry spice and was filled with raisins for a good sweet and spicy flavor. The salad it came with also had a great zingy dressing which pairs nicely with the pie. The Wild Table is a cute little restaurant and bakery too! They have an assortment of pastries and cakes to pick from and they all looked great and homemade, but I was much too full to try. I don't give out fives nearly ever but the combination of finding a place in this town that is actually open, the bright and airy space, the friendliness of the guy behind the counter that mirrors every single experience I have had during my week here, and that burrito has led me to break from my norm. The Wild Table is such a beautiful gem! Everything on the menu is delightful, from the daily specials to the staples, the desserts and specialty coffees. I've been here several times and I'm wowed each visit. The desserts are made fresh daily and are always exciting - this time I got the carrot cake and the herbed apple crumble pie. Pro tip: heat up the pie! I don't think there was even a crumb left by the time my friend and I tore through these. Their breakfast burrito is great, too. This is my second visit and the first of the pandemic era. The small outdoor seating area provides a safe dining space, shade, and a lovely mural. While I don't remember what I ate last time -- a year ago -- it was good enough for me to remember and return. I had a pulled pork breakfast burrito, coffee, and a apple crumble for later. The burrito comes alone on a plate and is filling and savory. The crumble soon follows -- since I ordered dine in -- and was warm, sweet, and cinnamon-forward. There is a sense here that you are eating directly from someone's kitchen. The chef is not named but "she" is frequently referenced. I hope she and I meet on one of my return visits. read more

Been on the road for 5 days, desperately seeking for a decent meal. Happened upon this sweet little spot and was taken aback by the quality and care in their offerings. Enjoyed a perfectly prepared Indian quiche, fresh out of the oven - chickpeas, zuchinni, feta and gentle spices. Fabulous! Worthy of any fine dining establishment. And the coffee - both caff and decaf was outstanding - not too strong, but with a wonderful depth to it. Wild Table is a farm to table gem and also happens to be the best bakery in town. Everything is made from scratch and with love. After a garbage experience at the Carbon County Steak House it was refreshing to experience true hospitality. The brittish fry-up is perfect hang-over food. Red Lodge is the cutest little town, almost picture-perfect with its main street view of the mountain and classic shops to draw in those headed up the mountains via the Beartooth Highway. There are several restaurant/sports bars or family casual places in the area, and a few other places for those who don't want to spend time sitting at a table but prefer to be out exploring. That's how I found The Wild Table. It's the type of place where you order at the counter, find a seat, and the food is brought to your table. It's a cute little place with not much seating for crowds, but with outdoor seating that wasn't nearly as confining or claustrophic as I expected. The Wild Table is a combination bakery and cafe, really. It's a soup, sandwich, coffee, dessert kind of place. There are a few daily specials and that's what I got this day. There wasn't much left of anything, by the time I stopped in, so I went with the recommendation for the Spanish tortilla. With sliced potatoes, caramelized onion, red pepper held together by an egg and cheddar cheese and then baked, this version of a tortilla was just okay. It could have used some seasoning. The red pepper was what gave it some zing with the taste-neutral potato, but there wasn't much of the pepper and definitely not enough for each bite. Overall, it was fine, but a little expensive for what was essentially thickly sliced potatoes. On the other hand, I'd still stop here again because it's a cute place with nice people. I just wouldn't get this particular special again. read more

We made a trip just to try this cafe!!! The staff are friendly, the place is clean, it has both indoor and outdoor space, and is the perfect place to stop for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or a snack. Try the hibiscus iced tea, tahini cake, huckleberry pie, or homemade bagels. We took one of each of the cookies to go and every last one of them was perfectly soft as if they had just come from the oven. I will definitely be back! read more

Happenstance brought us to this gem this afternoon. We were not disappointed. I had salmon tacos and my wife had a curried squash dish. Both were excellent. We used The Wild Table as a cake vendor for our Red Lodge elopement because they were highly recommended by our planner. We're from Alabama and didn't know any vendors in the area. Sheena started off being pretty hard to get in touch with but eventually my Mom was able to get her on the phone after numerous emails (I know, I should've seen this as a sign). Then The Wild Table really goofed our wedding cake. When I asked about what happened Sheena gave a giggly half-sincere apology before saying she just thought I wanted a simple cake and suggesting that I could've easily fixed the cake myself by removing the flowers. So I could have a cake with holes & smudges in the icing I guess...an $85 cake that I paid extra to have delivered. I emailed Sheena a photo of the cake I wanted (plain, white two-tier cake, and ruched icing pretty clearly seen in the picture) and I got an unassembled two-tier cake with white icing not ruched, cake visible through the icing, and bright colored flowers. We were supposed to put the second tier on ourselves apparently, which I would've been okay with if it weren't for a lack of cardboard bases and only wax paper that made it pretty difficult to move the cake. I understand mistakes happen and things sometimes get misinterpreted, but she could've at least sincerely acknowledged ruining a wedding cake. Maybe they're nice people, but I wouldn't recommend for a cake vendor...unless you have the time to double-triple-check that they'll do what they said they can do or the patience to have someone giggle about throwing a pretty big kink into your wedding day. read more

What a wonderful surprise! We are staying in Yellowstone and drove over the Beartooth Highway. We ended up in Red Lodge and wanted to have lunch. We wandered into The Wild Table and wow! Wonderful food, wonderful staff and all at a great price. Can't ask for more than that! We had quiche, Spanish tortata, huckleberry lemonade and kale salad. The food here is really next level - elevated by intelligent choices and deep food knowledge - wide ranging research - Cordon Bleu training to boot! Take their Morroccan Chicken 'Pie' as an example - the pastry is a meltingly tender phyllo type crust holding subtly spiced chunks of tender chicken with just a hint of raisin and nuts - all served a bit warmer than room temperature to bring out the combination and complexity. Their lasagna is just as accomplished - hearty and deeply flavored. Their sandwiches are well thought and each has a surprising twist to engage your palate. The drinks are delicious and unusual - fruit spiked lemonades and refreshing shrubs - plus great coffee. Breakfasts are real standouts! You must save room for their amazing desserts - even if you only have room for a bite, be sure to share one of their slices of pie with your dining companion(s). We now agree we could have split an order! I had mine with wilted spinach and a fried egg on top, Scott had a fries egg. Absolutely delicious! Really wonderful breakfast spot! The service was incredible! I walked in and asked about gluten free options and they had homemade Gf bread! Had a delicious breakfast sandwich with the most amazing bacon jam and an oat milk latte, plus the coconut macaroons are to die for! We were on a 11 day road trip through MT, WY, ID, BC, and Alberta with a mission to eat at as many great restaurants and bakeries as we could find. We had some fantastic food. Wild Table though was clearly the best place we visited. I would give it six stars. We had quiche, a sausage roll, and a breakfast sandwich to start. The quiche had an incredible flavor and consistency to it. The sausage roll was flaky with a flavorful sausage which was the perfect moisture without any grease and a delicious mustard on the side. We were so impressed with breakfast that we we got a couple scones and asked them to pack us sandwiches to take into Yellowstone for lunch. The blueberry scone I had was the best scone I've ever had. Mine lunch was a roast bison sandwich with an out-on-this-world bacon jelly. The other great thing about the Wild Table are the lovely, friendly people that work there who clearly care a great deal about high quality ingredients, put together deliciously. The Wild Table is a 13 hour drive from my house and it doesn't seem too unreasonable to hit the road just to experience it again. read more
