Very nice friendly people made us feel welcome and like they had always known us like we were locals. Coffee was excellent and my wife's latte was really good too. They had really cool custom coffee cups with their name on it and really cute used coffee cups with the saucer and a little plant in the.

Good breakfast burrito for sure, unfriendly service unless you were a known local apparently.

Unfortunately, the Beartooth Pass was closed between Red Lodge and Cooke City because of snow and high winds -- so we took the longer route that included the Chief Joseph Highway and yet still encountered some snow and sleet on the high elevation Colter Pass. Upon reaching Cooke City, we were ready to treat ourselves with some hot beverages and a piece of dessert. We stumbled upon the Beartooth Cafe. Upon entering, we informed the hostess that we were interested in hot beverages and a dessert and she apologized that they offered only "plain coffee", not the specialty coffees of a restaurant down the street. Perfect, we didn't need a fancy roast. My husband ordered a hot coffee ($3.75), while I ordered hot tea ($3.75). We split a slice of Amish Apple Pie ($11.75). The pie was delicious, and tasted home-made. My husband's coffee was good, and I was offered a tray with tea options. However, by the time taxes and tip were added, we felt that $25 was just too much for two plain (non-specialty) beverages and a split dessert (even in a touristy area with a limited season). Our server was friendly, but we weren't offered refills of the coffee and/or tea until after we had already asked for our check and were ready to depart. The ambiance was Montana rustic. Free parking was directly in front of the restaurant.

There is a shelf right next to the cash register where you can grab whichever ones you want and bring it back to your table. We were already trying these before we had our food. The cafe itself is super cute and cozy with plants all around and different pieces of art. They even sell items from local artists including beef tallow lotion and earrings. They have a clean bathroom and an outdoor eating area. They have a vast menu for lunch where the sandwiches are names after dogs and a smaller menu for breakfast. We go there around 11 and were able to order from both so unsure if there is a time limit for either. The staff were so sweet and gave their recommendations and even though it's a cafe, they will bring out your food for you when it's ready. We did still bring our dishes back to the counter, unsure how they generally do that though. We asked for pickles and they kindly gave us some. The burritos were huge and filling but the sandwiches themselves were also good. Unsure what names were but I didn't love the one with the carrots in them. The staff recommended the breakfast sandwich with the biscuit, and although it was good, the biscuit was not the best choice. It broke so easily and made a mess. Unsure of the name of the drink but it was like a lemonade and it was delicious. Definitely would come back and try more hot sauce though

Picked up sandwiches twice to bring into the park and they were a welcome meal after a morning of hiking. Loved that they featured gifts and things to purchase from local artists and makers. The food was genuinely delicious. We enjoyed our meals, and the quality was definitely there. The ambience during our visit was fantastic too--catching the Argentina vs. England World Cup game on the big screens made for a fun afternoon dining experience. That was a huge plus and definitely added to the atmosphere. Just some thoughts.. Walking in was disorienting. The ordering counter is to the left, but there's a covered seating area with TVs and what looks like a bar on the right--except you can't order food or drinks there. It's unclear which side to go to, so we had to figure it out on the fly. No biggy just a bit confusing when it's super busy. Service wise, our order was placed at 1:45pm didn't arrive until 2:15 PM--over 30 minutes of wait time. A cold beer helped pass the time, but it's worth noting if you're on a schedule. The $22 burgers is a little much, especially coming from the LA food scene where you have endless options. Plus if you want to add cheese, bacon or anything else for that matter it's an up charge.I understand Gardiner is a small town with limited competition and seasonal tourism, but it does feel like pricing is banking on visitors. The bottom line, the Corral serves excellent food in a fun atmosphere, but the confusing flow and extended wait times keep it from being a standout experience. It's worth a stop if you're in the area, but manage your expectations on pricing and timing.
