    Baker's Dozen

I love a good bagel (not because I'm Jewish folks, lol), but who doesn't??? But on that note, did Ya'll know that the bagel has its roots in Jewish cuisine, with its origins dating back to 17th century Poland. It is believed that bagels stemmed from anti-Semitic laws preventing Polish Jews from baking bread. To circumvent these edicts, Jewish bakers would boil the dough before baking it, a loophole that allowed them to bake. Bagels gained popularity among the Jewish communities in Eastern Europe because of their accessibility and affordability, and as Jewish immigrants made their way to the United States, they brought their beloved bagels with them. In cities like New York, bagels soon became a staple food item for both Jewish and non-Jewish communities alike. But what makes the bagel served here so good? The unique texture- The combination of a crisp crust and chewy interior sets these bagels apart from others. When here, I got a variety of bagels as I couldn't make a decision. My favorite of all bagels were the jalapeño and cheese bagel. For these bagels, the dough is made of yogurt, all-purpose flour, baking powder and salt and mixed in with some diced jalapenos and shredded cheddar cheese. The jalapeño cheddar bagels are absolutely bursting with peppery, cheesy flavor thanks to fresh jalapeños and cheddar cheese grated right into the dough. For extra heat, they're finished with a jalapeño egg wash, more jalapeño slices, and a generous heap of grated cheddar cheese on top. While the ordering process here is a bit confusing, the bagels are legit and the service is friendly. Those in the area should definitely stop by. #supportlocal

Williamson County Bagels is a welcomed addition to the "Hill Country" neighborhood. The bagel quality and taste remind me of some of the more "gourmet" bagels places I've eaten. These are not your store bought brand bagels. My wife and I each ordered a cheese bagel. I opted for jalapeños on mine. We had them sliced and double toasted, with butter. The owner, who was preparing the bagels asked if I wanted regular butter or "French Butter"? I inquired about the difference. He gave me a very detailed explanation of the difference, as the Bitter is actually imported from France, he explained the way the butter was processed and the amount of fat present. All in all, the difference was in the taste. Me being a huge butter fan, I said yes. Wife gave a nod to "French butter" on hers also, along with two reg coffees. When he started to total up our purchase, I saw the amount was in excess of $28.00. "Wow!" I noticed the French Butter was being charged at $5.00 per bagel. This was unexpected as the bagel itself was only $4.00. Now the serving of butter is pretty heavy. Butter was literally dripping off my bagel as it was being prepared. The owner was kind enough to adjust the price as my wife did not want such a heavy serving on her bagel. All in all, it's a nice shop. The quality and taste of the bagels are in my opinion better than at "Panera's". The coffee seems to be a premium brand, plus they offer an assortment of creamer including "Oat Milk", "Almond Milk", Half & Half", and "Whole Milk". I did have a chance to mention to the owner that the price of the French Butter was unexpectedly high. That he may want to mention the price when he's promoting that option. He seemed very receptive. I've seen a lot of the reviews here, and it seems that some of the charges are unexpected. $2.00 for cream cheese, etc. But these are quality products and during this post-covid era, quality costs. I'm glad we have a nice shop we can enjoy coffee and a good bagel just a few miles away. There are lots of bagel and cream cheese options. They have settled in from the "Opening Day" learning curve. I say come see for yourself. I always consider myself a fair reviewer. I'm not going to slam any restaurant for any one element I don't like. But I do like to manage expectations. If you have an issue with something, ask for the manager and let them know. Don't take it out on the staff, who have little to no control over how a meal is prepared, or the cost involved. Don't take your frustrations out on your review. That's just "my humble opinion", that's just fair. Owning a restaurant is a gamble. Someone puts their dream out there, invest a lot of money into making it happen and hope it works. So support them! Blessings to you all, and happy dinning. Michael C. - Georgetown, Tx.

We tried the new Williamson County Bagels. Overall, very pleased to have another option for New York style bagels as we refuse to eat any other way. They have a nicely represented menu from toasted and untoasted options. Coffee is not too acidic. Service is much better than any of the places where we frequent for our bagels, although they are slightly smaller in size, less filling and less exotic in the stuffing than Nervous Charlie's. If you prefer things more straightforward and traditional this is the place. When we went, you can obviously tell they were still figuring things out and training their new employees so be patient. We waited 25 min for our order. Pictured is the Breakfast ($9) with an everything bagel, sausage, amercian cheese, butter, fried egg and The McConaughey ($12) which is a cold untoasted sandwich with sesame bagel, black forest ham, brie, french butter.

Absolutely loved ordering from Williamson County Bagel Co this week for a large event at school. Ordering was so easy and Alex was extremely helpful with picking out which flavors to choose. The bagels were a huge hit. I must say that the everything bagels smelled absolutely amazing. So good! If you're in the area - I know so many of y'all are living that Parmer commute dream every morning- stop here for some bagel happiness and get yourself some extra cream cheese too...you deserve it. AND Williamson County Bagel Co. deserves a huge shoutout for making some darn tasty bagels.

I really really want to like it here! And have given them so many chances. If you ask for not toasted, they toast it - if I ask for light cream cheese, there's a ton on it - if I ask them to cut the bagel, it never is. Today I got a coffee and a bagel - never had the coffee before and never will again. It was cold, must have been sitting for a long time and had chunks of grind in it. They have so much potential but the customer service can't seem to get it together. Also, you'd probably save some money if the packing materials weren't so intense for just 1 bagel.

So I liked that the eggs were that farm raised orange color which is usually a good quality sign. I was not impressed with the actual bagel at all. Weird texture. Almost like too hard and had no "chewability" if that makes sense. My biggest gripe are the prices. Comparing to other spots locally it's about 15-18% more expensive, and came with one less egg. I think the prices are definitely too high. I will say the cream cheeses looked awesome but after a $1.50 up charge just to have 2 eggs instead of 1 egg and then a $.50 cent up charge for bacon instead of the default sausage, $2.00 additional up charge to add cream cheese I opted out of that after my breakfast sandwich became $13 fast. If they can improve the bagel texture (taste seemed good), and reduce prices by ~10-15% with the help of a new President in office then I think they'll be better positioned. I know costs of everything have gone up significantly but you really can't price your product that much higher than competition unless it's that much better than competition. Wishing the proprietors tons of success in their new business.

My husband and I went on "Grand opening" day. And, I know, when a business is "new", they are still working out the "kinks" of how things work. I saw the advertisement on Facebook "Cedar Park Foodies" page, and know they had a "soft opening" a few days before, and was open for a couple days. We got there early, around 8am, and couple people in line. We reviewed the menu, but when got up to cash register, found out only a couple of bagels were actually available. So, we just went with 2 of the Breakfast bagels, on Everything bagels, and Seasame bagel toasted with just plain cream cheese. We ordered two coffees, and sat at a table. Coffee and cream is off to a table on the side to server yourself. There was no regular sugar, so my husband went to counter to ask for some. Coffee was not that good. :( ...As we waited, we saw a couple people that had just ordered bagels to go, a little upset at the long wait to get their items to go. They have a drive thru, but could not see how that was going. I needed something "cold" to drink, so I could take my morning pills, and looked around, and did not see any water, so asked my husband to see if they had some water bottle to buy. They did not! They only had "Topo Chico", juice or soda in bottles. I opted for juice, even though I really did not want it. We told them it was "for here", but they still put order in an oversized paper bag. When we finally got our order, we were really disappointed in the actual bagel itself. I don't know what the other "reviewers" on here got, but what we got was very HARD bagels! I know when you toast an Everything bagels, the seeds get a little "toasty", but these were wayyy blackened. When we tried to bite into it, it was very hard to bite, and chew. Also, the egg, to me was way undercooked. I think a "fried egg" should have the yolk a little cooked. So, was hopeful for the seasame bagel which were going to split. We opened it up and took the plastic knife...and could barely get thru to cut, and all the cream cheese ooozed out...I was very frustrated. I did not eat it. I understand being "new" and the service can be fixed. But, please add some kind of water (we need it all year in hot Texas). And, please redo your recipe for the bagels. It can be a little hard on outside, but needs to be soft and chewy on inside. :(

Sesame bagel (should be onion) with roast beef? Pastrami? I don't remember.

Got a bagel sandwich bc I had high hopes for the bagels since it looked fancy AF. They didn't have the onion bagel to go with the sandwich so I got sesame instead. Sesame bagel was hard and not as soft inside. Not worth $12 for the sandwich. Got a Too Good To Go and it was full of six bagels that had salt on it. If you like salty bagels then yeah get this on Too Good To Go. Unfortunately won't be returning as a customer for a while!

Williamson County Bagel Company was a good spot for a morning snack. I liked the flavor of the blueberry spread, it wasn't too sweet. The cinnamon raisin bagel I wanted a little more sweetness. The bagels are a little pricey though.

The bagels are hand-rolled, boiled and baked in-house every day. Tried to very delicious options this morning. The Alex (bagel and lox) and breakfast sandwiched called simply "breakfast". Be patient as they are opening but I think they are the best bagels around town right now.

Plenty of menu options as well. The staff are warm, welcoming, and accommodating (we came with a group of 6 and they got us situated right away). The space is small (which I find very nice), there is indoor and covered/shaded outdoor seating available. And I love the decor! Overall, highly recommend!

My husband ordered their burrito, which came with chips and a cheese dip on the side. Their shrimp was good; nothing special. I did ask to try aleida's sauce, which many people liked on yelp, but we liked their green sauce the most! Overall, very cute and colorful restaurant; loved all the decor. The outdoor patio, where we sat, was covered and nice, until it started pouring hard outside. Not a super authentic latin restaurant. No complimentary chips and salsa. My taco wasn't worth more than $5, tbh, and we paid close to $9..given it was shrimp, but we've had much better shrimp tacos elsewhere for less. I wish I had a photo of my poor taco, but I totally forgot to take a picture :/

Amazing food, great coffee, and such a fun little store! I definitely bought too much and had zero regrets. Lunch was unforgettable. The jacked-up club sandwich with deli-carved meat was incredible and huge, easily enough for two people to share. The honey latte was such a treat, perfectly balanced and comforting. What truly made the experience stand out was the people and the purpose. The wonderful woman who took my order was learning the POS system and is a participant in their training program. She was kind, capable, and welcoming, and it was clear she was being supported, not rushed. It felt good to be part of that moment. We also popped next door to Sunflower Hill and purchased the most beautiful handmade items: a wind chime, a soap dish, and a candle. Each piece came with the story of the person who crafted it, which made them feel like true treasures, not just purchases. This company is doing something really special: making a genuine difference in people's lives while offering an outstanding product and experience. It was an unforgettable lunch, filled with heart, intention, and joy....and we will absolutely be back.

While it was a bit of a far drive, it was well worth it to have breakfast at Texas Toast Breakfast and Burgers with these friends. I had no expectations of what to expect (first time diner), so I was starting from ground zero. First impression...this was a neighborhood café with down home cooking. The restaurant had a small town, country, and laid-back vibe...no pretense, just warm and welcoming. As I got out of my car, I could smell the wafts of something good happening in the kitchen. Our server was friendly and immediately offered us water. She gave us adequate time to place our orders and checked on us pretty frequently. She was attentive while also giving us the right amount of space. Why do this neighborhood café have a 4.8 rating? Hands the food! My friends ordered the Chicken Fried Steak Plate (including three over easy eggs, hash browns, and of course, Texas toast) and two breakfast tacos. I ordered the chicken and waffles. Did I die and go to food heaven? The waffles were firm on the exterior and soft and flavorful inside. So, so good! My friends were pleased their meals also. My friends meal came with Texas toast, which she gave to me. It was yummy! I did not eat it all since I was carb-loading with waffles. Would I dine at Texas Toast Breakfast & Burgers again? Absolutely!!!

I ordered today a Million Dollar Breakfast Sandwich from their summer specials, and it didn't go unnoticed that there was a generous pile of tender greens with it. I also had the summer watermelon wake-up juice, which was light, sweet, and very freshening. I would encourage first time diners to try the fresher, fruitier offerings before coming back for omelets or skillet breakfasts another day. Service was solid, and our server did not keep us waiting at all. There's plenty of table space, though it does get busy. When it does get busy, service tends to suffer a bit and kitchen falls behind, at least in our experience.

You feel taken care of from the moment you sit down. Now, about sitting down: this place is popular. Like, really popular. If you're hoping for an intimate conversation about your feelings, you might want to snag a table outside. Inside, it's lively enough that you'll be reading lips more than listening. But hey, the outdoor seating is lovely, so problem solved! Here's where things get a little greasy--literally. First Watch proudly markets itself as a champion of fresh, whole ingredients and quality cooking. I've been a fan for exactly that reason. But on my most recent visit, something was... off. The food had this noticeably greasier quality, and I'm pretty confident they switched to a cheaper cooking oil (canola or similar vegetable oil, if I had to guess). For context: certain oils don't agree with me--they trigger migraines and general unwellness. And sure enough, within hours, I was both nauseous and nursing a headache. Not exactly the "fresh start" First Watch promises. Everything else was solid, but I can't give five stars when a restaurant's practice doesn't match its principles. If you're sensitive to oils or generally avoid the cheaper varieties, proceed with caution or ask about their current cooking oil before ordering anything fried or sautéed. Still love the concept--just hoping they get back to their roots (and better oils).
