Oh my goodness, where do I begin?! Choosing The Willow Ballroom as our wedding day venue was the best decision we could have made. Not only is it absolutely beautiful but Angelica and her team were so incredibly helpful throughout the entire planning and wedding day execution. The communication was clear and consistent allowing us to have any questions answered and avoid any confusion. The venue was always taken care of as far as cleanliness and presentation, truly a beauty that is captivating at any visit. On the wedding day, it couldn't have been more perfect with the beautiful drapery and furnishing that Angelica has cultivated- such a beautiful and romantic foundation that hardly needs any additional decor yet flexible enough to add some unique touches. Lastly, what stood out most was how supportive Angelica was for us in every moment, from providing us so much transparency and guidance to thinking of all of the small details to help make our day seamless and enjoyable (helping bring in decorations, making sure we enjoyed our cocktails after the ceremony, keeping the vendors in the loop). She is truly a blessing in this overwhelming wedding world and it made all the difference. She truly cares about every couples experience, ensuring all vendors are professional and skilled to carry out such a special day for us all. To say we were so happy to have worked with the Willow is an understatement

After looking at a couple other venues when we got engaged, we saw the Willow Ballroom we knew it was the one. Angelica is amazing and is more than just a venue owner, she was so involved in our planning, made suggestions throughout that were perfect, and really made us feel at home on our special day. Our wedding day was truly everything we hoped for and more! Highly recommended if you are looking at getting married in the Sacramento area!

As a little girl I dreamed of having a fairytale wedding- a wedding that was beautiful, magical, and the perfect backdrop to marrying my prince charming. The Willow Ballroom was it- I had my eyes on this place and crossed my fingers that one day I could get married here. Soon the time came and when my now husband and I toured the venue for the first time we were enchanted by the venue's beauty, detail, and amazing aesthetic. On our wedding day our family and friends were gushing over how incredible the Willow Ballroom was. Adjectives we have been hearing a lot are breathtaking, gorgeous, and Taylor Swift Love Story vibes. I completely agree. One reason it is breathtaking is the chandeliers and drapes. WOW, the first time I walked in they were setting up for an open house and even when everything wasn't fully set up it looked amazing! The height of the chandeliers and drapes are put at the perfect spot. The aisle I walked down on was lined with chandeliers, it made me feel like a Disney princess! All of the decor in the space is handpicked and well arranged. Every item of decor makes sense, nothing is too big or too small for the space. Also everything in the space is clean, classy, and elegant. During cocktail hour our family and friends loved the seating and table options and they said it added an extra special touch to our wedding. They also couldn't get over the beautiful giant mirrors that welcomed you into the venue. For the adjective gorgeous every step you take into the venue puts you in a state of awe. Even the bathrooms are decorated so nicely and cleanly! From the outside to inside space there are so many gems for spots to take pictures. They also have a private estate that has amazing greenery and is a pretty background for more wedding photos. Angelica and her family did a really great job giving space for couples to make their wedding picture dreams come to life. You might chuckle at the Taylor Swift Love Story adjective, but it is an absolute complement. Angelica provided a wonderful list of preferred vendors- we were able to get the vendor dream team. My family and friends couldn't stop talking about each of the vendors from signage to florist to the ice cream cart to photography etc. Usually there is just one vendor everyone loves but it seemed like nobody could pick their favorite because they were all SO good! Each of these vendors were familiar with the Willow Ballroom and all came together to emphasize the venue's magnificent features and celebrate our special day. They all took my wedding dreams and picked the best designs, colors, and food to match the venue perfectly where everyone was singing Love Story (Taylor's version) in their heads throughout the night. Angelica works well with all the vendors to inform them with accurate information and communicates in a detailed way and we are incredibly thankful for that! The Willow Ballroom is an absolute beautiful space and we highly recommend you getting married or hosting your event there!

We absolutely loved getting married at The Willow Ballroom! It was the perfect spot for us, everyone loved the space & we loved working with Angelica. We had our wedding recently there with 150+ people, and it was incredible. The vendors, Angelica and her team, everyone made the day so seamless for us. The natural beauty of the venue allowed us to save on tons of decor because we wanted to showcase the natural brick, beautiful drapery & it was perfection. Location was great, we were easily able to pop to I-5 and get shuttles so that everyone could get around safely. We cannot recommend this space enough!!! Forever grateful.

My husband and I just had our dream wedding at the Willow on 4/13/24, and it was truly amazing. We had the best vendors and that all started with Angelica and her references and guidance in who to hire to make our night the best it could be. She also responds in record time to any inquiries! Angelica is extremely versed in the industry and knows exactly how to run a venue the way it needs to be run, we had literally no issues on our day in regard to the venue, or any day before that. Two different stories of how Angelica handled issues without stress and really cares about the couples and making sure their day goes as planned. First story is from early on in our planning: my husband and I were deciding between two dates. Angelica sent us both contracts so that we could send in the one we wanted when we decided. We accidentally sent in the wrong one and didn't notice for two weeks, after we'd already booked vendors for the other day....We of course freaked out because we were out of town and couldn't immediately fix the problem other than sending a frantic email, and thank god Angelica was completely calm and told us it was no problem, we have the date we want and it'll all be fine. We took care of the issue when we were back in town without stress knowing she was in our corner and said it would be fine and she wouldn't give away our date. Next story was our actual wedding day: it poured rain all day. We'd booked an indoor wedding for this reason, as all Sacramento people know the spring is totally unpredictable! However, our picture plans at the gorgeous estate were ruined. Angelica let us and our bridal party and both our families come hours early to take all of our photos indoor in the venue while all the vendors were setting up, despite our contract saying we couldn't arrive until a certain time. She also offered to let us take photos at the estate in the coming weeks if we wanted to. I will be eternally grateful to her for her kindness on our wedding day when it came to these indoor pictures, as they turned out amazing (from the sneak peeks we have back so far!) and the weather was the one thing that could go wrong that I couldn't control and she made it as painless as possible. We loved her and Willow, my parents loved her and Willow, my husband's family loved her and Willow, we've been told one million times over how amazing our venue and wedding day were by guests. Complimentary valet and the ability to bring in your own alcohol (so huge!) are just a few perks at this venue. Angelica also has a ton of furniture pieces that you can use, as well as the gorgeous black and white dance floor that we rented. You can have exactly what you want at Willow, it is a true, giant, wonderful blank slate, and you won't regret booking here!

Fate brought us to The Willow Ballroom and we sure are happy about that! After researching every single venue within a 40 mile radius, we were pretty set on one venue nearby that had a similar look we were going for. Then one day we received a marketing email for The Willow Ballroom - never heard of it and it never came up during any of my searches. It looked beautiful in photos so we decided to go check it out immediately after work. We were sold! If you book here you have to pick a DJ and caterer on their preferred list, but otherwise any other vendors are your choice! Don't worry about that slight limitation, if you even want to call it that, because they have some awesome choices to select from. We went with Jackson Catering and Function 45, both of which Angelica, the main venue coordinator and face of Willow Ballroom, is very familiar working with, so we weren't bothered by having to pick off of the preferred vendor list. The ballroom itself is huge and has so many possibilities. We were one of the first to get married outdoors and luckily The Willow added brand new turf just before our wedding date! The view from the outdoor space is beautiful with the greenery and the river in the background. There are two wooden pergolas already set along with planters, so you really don't need to do much to the space! Downside is if you're getting married in hot weather, it's pretty tough on the crowd. The bridal party is all in the shade up front but other than that it's just direct sunlight. We rented umbrellas and provided fans to help with some of that sunlight. If you wanted to avoid that, you could do your ceremony inside as well and do a room flip during cocktail hour. So many options! The indoor area is even more beautiful! Chandeliers and market lights are lit across the room, highlighting the high wooden ceilings and contrasting concrete columns. You can soften the look with drapery options but we opted to keep it without drapery to avoid breaking up the space. We barely even needed to bring any major decor. The Willow has a ton of inventory that you can use as a part of your event. We took full advantage of all of their pretty dressers and bars as table space. They even have a sweetheart table and comfy chairs already! Throughout the planning process, Angelica was highly responsive and easy to talk to. I appreciated her quick response time and level of patience with my numerous questions! She's super sweet, gives suggestions when you're unsure, and supports your decisions when you share your ideas with her. It felt like I was just talking to a friend, not a business owner. Upon booking, she will give you a checklist of important dates which makes it super easy to make sure everything is done timely. During our actual event, she was easy to reach if we were in different areas, and catered to not only the groom and me, but also our entire bridal party and family. She's extremely thoughtful and literally thinks of everything. Where else are you going to find the actual venue on-site coordinator pass out waters before the ceremony for all of the bridal party AND your dogs?! Our event moved so seamlessly. She probably came up to us once or twice during the whole thing and she didn't skip a beat. I didn't need to coordinate with anyone once different vendors arrived, she just knew where they needed to be and what they needed to do based off of my timeline and room layout, which are required by a certain due date before your event. She even had our car packed by the time the event ended, which allowed time for us to say goodbye to our guests and clean out the lounge space. I could probably keep going on and on about The Willow but I'll leave it at this. The Willow is amazing and more people need to know about it. Even if you're not booking an event anytime soon, share it with someone who is, so they can go check it out!

OH MY GOSH - where do we start! We are ONE HAPPY COUPLE!!! From the first moment of being hosted by Angelica to give us our initial tour of the ballroom, we could feel the magic. It was an easy decision for us to decide to get married here, especially with access to the outdoor ceremony site (weather permitting AND IT PERMITTED ALRIGHT ), but having a back up plan option, and the ease in which Angelica ensured us everything will work out just fine. I planned our wedding myself, and Angelica was very accessible and easy to communicate with as I had questions of permissions of the venue along the way. On the day of our wedding, I had absolutely NO concerns about our hired team of vendors AND the team at The Willow Ballroom to step in and help everyone experience the wedding of our dreams!!! It was a warm day, and Angelica continued to check in on everyone's comfort levels, AC accessibility, and had a space for all my new mom friends to have pumping privacy!!!! I can not rave enough about the care and support we received - no wonder they have been voted BEST VENUE IN SACRAMENTO! I'll definitely be throwing my vote in this year. It would be my honor. This venue won best venue of Sacramento for a reason. It's seriously drop dead gorgeous. The ambience, the brick, the chandeliers, the drapery - everything is so romantic and beautiful. Our guests would not stop talking about how beautiful it was. If you are a bride going for a romantic and bougie feel ...this venue is for you! The venue alone is so gorgeous that the decor you provide can be minimal. Angelica is super responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. I probably emailed her 100 times but she was so kind! The day of they had golf carts to drive us and our party around to get to our photo spots. The bridal suite on site is so gorgeous. I cannot stop talking about the entire property being amazing. I could go on and on, this place is a 10/10 must book.

Where do I even begin?! Our wedding at the Willow Ballroom was truly a dream come true. Angelica took all the ideas we had in our heads and went above and beyond to make sure EVERY detail was executed to absolute perfection. Our vision was "eclectic Italian" and we wanted our guests to feel like they'd been transported to an Italian family villa. We picked our vendors from Angelica's list of preferred vendors, and every single person we worked with was exceptional in bringing that Italian vision to life - All Seasons All Reasons made the most incredible Italian meal, with the most delicious tenderloin our guests had ever eaten. Fig n Vine crafted beyond perfect orange and pink and red bouquets (including kumquats!) and jaw dropping centerpieces. Steve at Function 45 took all our crazy ideas and brought them to life in such a fun way - with guests saying he was the best DJ they'd ever seen at a wedding. Our day-of coordinator Melanie (Lekker Event Designs) was an absolute sweetheart, and was critical in bringing everything together and making sure our wedding day ran smoothly. Angelica hand picks the BEST of the best at the Willow and we were blown away by how easy and professional the entire process was. But the best part was that we weren't just "using her venue" - we were working alongside her! She was there every day to answer our questions and offer advice, and she worked her butt off to make sure our wedding was everything we could ever dream of. The Willow is hands down the most beautiful venue in the area, and easy to access from anywhere in Sacramento. The river provides the most exceptional breeze for a summer wedding, the vintage chandeliers and drapes add elegance, and the unique and gorgeous furniture gives the entire space the most dreamy and warm feeling. There is something truly magical about the space when you walk in. It takes your breath away. You even have access to their incredible vineyard estate for some portraits!! We definitely took advantage of the lush grape vines for the most romantic shoot as the sun set. Unbelievable!! You're not only getting a wedding at the most beautiful venue, you're getting a team of professional and loving people who want to make your wedding day the happiest day of your life. It was stress free from start to finish. We had nothing to worry about because we knew it was in Angelica and our vendors' incredibly capable and gifted hands. I used to think wedding planning would be a source of stress, because that's all I'd ever heard. But working with Angelica proved that there are truly good people in the world who want to make sure that you only feel the JOY of wedding planning. She goes above and beyond, and really does make dreams come true!! The day of our wedding, we truly were transported to Italy. Everything we'd envisioned, everything we'd hoped for. We feel so, SO lucky to have found the Willow Ballroom.

My family and I attended a good friend's wedding on 1/25/20 at the Willow Ballroom. Our overall thoughts on the venue and customer service (from a guest/attendee perspective): Valet Parking Although some people enjoy valet parking, we did not and would have preferred to park our own vehicle, which was NOT an option (we asked) Attendants appeared to be really young, which was of a concern to us as we did not feel comfortable leaving our BMW with inexperienced drivers Ballroom The venue itself and the décor was absolutely stunning (even though the plain brick building seems to be in the middle of nowhere). Don't let the outside fool you, the inside was turned into an absolutely beautiful wedding venue - we loved the ambience (abundance of candles, chandeliers, and flowers everywhere). We were some of the few quests to arrive first, the temperature inside the ballroom was a bit cooler/chillier than we expected and would have liked (bring a cardigan or dress warm during winter months). Temperature did get better as more guests arrived. Food The food was catered and was decent (the chicken walnut salad was very good) but it took a while for the main entrees to arrive. First entrée (chicken) arrived cold, second entrée (lamb chops) luke-warm and bland, and third entrée (salmon) was on point (flavorful and warm). Customer Service/Staff For how much our friend spent on the venue, we were not particularly impressed with the staff friendliness (or lack of) and here's why: Waitress seemed annoyed when we politely asked for an additional entrée to be brought to the table On several occasions, we observed waiters stood huddled around the bar area and chit chatting instead of checking in on guests or clearing their plates (we quickly learned that you had to flag a waiter down or go get it yourself if you needed anything) We definitely expected the staff to do a better job on checking on the guests once in a while and being friendly (instead of appearing annoyed), which would have gone a long way) On a side note: the following morning my wife contacted the place to check if she accidentally left her make-up bag at the venue. Someone by the name of Angelica answered and seemed annoyed by the call/was borderline rude. She insisted that everything has been hauled by the groom's sister and sister-in-law the night before and to check in with them. Even though Angelica "offered" to go search the area and call back, she failed to take down my wife's name or the phone number. Again, not impressed with the customer service. Overall, we enjoyed the beautiful venue but wish the customer service was better.

I do not know how to put into words the gratitude one feels when another puts so much love and energy into creating such an important memory for you, but here we go. Angelica and The Willow Ballroom are the complete package. The venue itself is stunning. Gorgeous for outdoor/ indoor ceremony with a space that effortlessly transitions into a cocktail hour, reception, and dance floor. We even had a churro truck for dessert, and it was so easy for guests to enjoy because one of the walls had a garage door that opened right up for to access- literally, it can transform into everything you could want/ need. I had obviously never planned a wedding before, and my mom and I were so stressed over all of the details. However, you DO NOT need to worry. Angelica is a true professional who has thought of it all. If you decide to go with the Willow Ballroom, you need not stress anymore. She has so many tricks and ideas up her sleeve that take your event from ordinary to extradorinaiy. She honors your vision while illuminating it with touches and additions that you yourself may never have thought of. One of the best features is all of the spaces available for pictures on your special day. The event space itself offers so many gorgeous avenues and backdrops for pictures, and if that isn't enough, you also have access to a beautiful vineyard. Backdrops that are green, rustic, industrial, intimate- The Willow Ballroom and event space has access to them all. Angelica also works with only the best. Her vendors are amazing- we literally rocked out to Backstreet Boys while takin the photos. She takes care of everything- you can even see her in one picture ensuring we had one of our signature cocktails while taking our sunset photos. I am not kidding- she is everything! What you remember most about your special day is how you felt, and Angelica and her staff will leave you feeling reassured, comfortable, and so ready to rock it out on your wedding day. Our special day was a dream come true, literally. And we have Angelica and her Willow Ballroom to thank for that!

On November 1st 2019 my husband and I got married at the Willow Ballroom & it was a dream come true!! From the very first time we toured the venue, & met Angelica, the manager, to the day of we felt so taken care of, and welcomed! Angelica was always prompt with communication, & did what she could to make this whole process easy & seamless for us!! This venue is gorgeous and gives me all the fairytale feelings. The chandeliers inside with the brick give this place such an romantic vibe. The drapery ties it all together (this is extra but soooo worth it), and the little touches such as the small indoor fireplace, and the windows and other decor inside just add a little extra charm! All night our guests were loving the venue and kept complimenting us on how fairytale like everything felt. This space could easily hold up to 300 but even our though our guest list was 120, at no point did it feel too big. One of the best parts is that when you book you get access to a vineyard for photos, and the river behind the venue offers a great chance to snag some sunset photos!!! Looking back on everything our wedding couldn't have come out more perfect. Many thanks to Angelica & her team, and for providing the most beautiful space to say I Do!

I wish I could give The Willow Ballroom 100 stars! Fun fact - I saved the name of this venue on my phone years before ever getting engaged because I saw it online and was in awe of its beauty!! When I saw that they added an outdoor ceremony space, it was a done deal. You're also given access to their private estate to take pictures at and we were blown away when we pulled up. It was the perfect spot for our first look and bridal party pictures before the ceremony. Our guests couldn't stop raving about how beautiful the outdoor ceremony space was and how breathtaking the inside of the ballroom looked. Did I mention that the service, food, drinks, and entertainment were on point too?! Seriously, everything was perfect. From day 1, Angelica was a freaking rockstar to work with! She's extremely hard working and truly wants all of her couples to have the absolute best day of their lives. She helped me out with my millions of questions and was super supportive through the entire process. I honestly couldn't of asked for a better wedding venue and host. It was the most beautiful, perfect day and we will always be so grateful for Angelica + The Willow Ballroom for giving us the best memories that we will cherish forever.

I came to The Willow Ballroom for a friend's wedding. We were asked to have our cars valet parked since it was complementary. I didn't want to have my car valeted but was told that it was mandatory. They then told me I couldn't park my own vehicle, however they offered to park my car up front. Upon receiving the car, I initially noticed that my car was backed into something because my license plate was visibly bent and the frame was broken in half. On top of that, my traction control was turned off (this can only be done manually) and the car arrived to me with the brakes squealing. (Assume what you would like to with this evidence) The valet company played dumb and only took my information from me (name, phone, email) but I never heard from them until I myself contacted them. The general manager at The Willow (Angelica) came out and said she would look into it. In the following days, she accused me of being a liar, claimed that I was attempting insurance fraud and offered little to know assistance in investigating what happened. She also said she would give me only one camera angle from the building which I never received. I would not recommend this business to anyone because they are totally unprofessional and have unethical behavior. read more

The Willow Ballroom is hands down one of the most incredible venues in the Sacramento area!!! The space has been so well thought out. It is the perfect mixed of modern and rustic, romantic and industrial. It is beautiful on its own, but also a wonderful drawing board to build upon. Angelica, the owner and manager, is an absolute dream to work with. From our first encounter, I could tell that she is organized, efficient, and responsive. Most importantly, she genuinely wants each event to be a success. It is so rare to find a venue that treats each event as its own special moment as opposed to just another busy weekend. This ballroom was absolutely gorgeous, perfect for any event: fancy or not. Super spacious, well-ventilated, and I loved that our guests were able to mingle and walk around freely both inside and outside the venue. It was easy to separate off different sections we needed for our event and fit all our guests with ease. Stunning, absolutely stunning. Also, there was 2 women's bathrooms (extremely helpful), which were extremely clean and fancy as well. 10/10, would recommend! read more

Where do I even begin. This venue took my breath away even in it's unmade state. The exposed concrete pillars, brick and metal pipes provide a lovely juxtaposition to the beautiful and whimsically mismatched chandeliers and other vintage furniture pieces. All these things are only made better by working with the amazing owner. As I mentioned to her "the success of your business is a true testament to your expertise, passion and knowledge". She is AMAZING. Now, everything is a la carte, so you can choose almost all your own vendors or choose from a pool of vetted vendors. I liked this aspect because then you can be confident that your event will be handled by trustworthy, cooperative professionals while still having enough autonomy to put your own personal flair on the occasion! Do yourself a favor and have your wedding here or convince your friends/family to do so, that way you can be a witness to the perfection. read more

The absolute PERFECT venue (for any occasion)! We got married here in January and we didn't want to worry about any weather conditions, so indoors was our most important item on our list of criteria. When looking around at indoor venues, most places held a much smaller guest capacity or weren't that pretty...the Willow was the BEST option!! It's beautiful, can hold a large number of people, and was in a great location! We ended up having great weather and did location shots around the back by the river and it was STUNNING! I will always highly recommend this venue to everyone!! read more

This is a nice local venue for people in Nor Cal. I especially enjoyed it because it was close to my house. They also have a nice room where people can prepare for their wedding. Their space is also pretty awesome. It's huge with lots of possibilities to deck out for a wedding. I met the owner. She was very kind and kindly offered to drive me, the photographer, and the bride and groom to our portrait location with her personal car. That's great service! read more

The Willow Ballroom is such a beautiful venue! Having been born and raised in Sacramento, I had no idea such a gem existed. The venue was highly recommended by our planner, Events by Kristina Elyse. We were lucky enough to do a walkthrough of the venue when it was all set up for a wedding the next day and as someone who struggles with visualizing things, it was great to see what it could look like once all set up with the drapery. If you have the opportunity, add the drapery! It really adds a romantic and soft element to the space and since we had both our ceremony and reception all indoors, it was a great way to separate the space in anticipation of the room flip. Since our wedding was during Halloween weekend, this was the perfect space for the modern but moody feel we were going for. We ended up opting for an all indoor event but did appreciate the flexibility of having the outdoor ceremony space as an option. We did also take the opportunity to take pictures at their private estate before the ceremony and I love the contrast of the garden-like feel with all the greenery to the industrial brick building of the venue. Angelica was amazing to work with and very responsive in communication throughout the process. All the vendors recommended between Angelica's list and our planner were a dream to work with and made what can be such a stressful time, a seamless experience. We appreciated the flexibility the venue provided and you have so much to work with to make your day exactly how you want it. We also had the opportunity to store our personal items the day before during our rehearsal to lighten any responsibilities on the big day. Between Angelica, our amazing vendors, and our planner, very little was required of us on the day of. This really allowed us to focus on enjoying our wedding to the fullest. Where do I even begin? I'll try to keep this short and sweet. Our wedding was nothing short of an absolute dream. Angelica and the team of vendors at The Willow Ballroom were excellent. They went above and beyond and all of our guests have also shared their incredible experience. The space is already immaculate which means you don't have to go crazy with decor. Our wedding was amazing thanks to Angelica and The Willow Ballroom. My wife and I (mainly wife) planned our wedding in 3.5 months and without Angelica's help our wedding wouldn't be as special as it was. As for the venue, The Willow Ballroom is a large, beautiful, rustic canvas with elegant lights and spectacular chandeliers (definitely a hidden gem as all other reviews pointed out). The room seated all 450 of our guests comfortably and had extra space a large dance floor. The exterior of the venue includes bricks, rustic buildings, and the Sacramento River (behind the venue) for great photos ops. All of our guests loved the venue as well. We were truly blessed to have found such a beautiful venue and Angelica. We highly recommend The Willow Ballroom for weddings, galas, and any other celebrations. read more

This venue is absolutely beautiful! I came here for the first time for a bridal showcase and I loved and I was impressed of the free valet parking! I've been to two different bridal events at the Willow! And I am seriously OBSESSED with everything about it. This venue is beautiful!! The outdoor area where the cocktail hour was held was nice and shady. And inside there is a brick/rustic vibe that went perfectly with the couple's decor. We attended The Willow Ballroom's open house in January 2020.. only 30 days after we got engaged and it was the first venue we ever stepped foot in. And within seconds we knew this was place we HAD to get married! And while we had to postpone a entire year (eww COVID) one thing was to remain the same.. our gorgeous venue at the Willow ballroom! Whether your vibe is romantic, or rustic, this place checks all of the boxes. And Angelica, the owner, may just be the best part of the package. The Willow Ballroom is a beautiful wedding venue and we heard nothing but great things from our guests. Angelina, the point person, was very helpful as well, both in the planning process and the day of. Be aware that you have to use pre-approved vendors, which may impact your budget. The curtains/drapery aren't included either. But the vendors we worked with wound up being great. There's a nearby garden and vineyard we were able to use for pictures and they turned out really well. If you're willing to pay a little more for a nicer venue The Willow Ballroom is a great place! read more

This is the most uniquely gorgeous location I've ever seen. It's the perfect space to host any kind of event-corporate party, wedding, baby shower, baptism, anything. Had the absolute pleasure of having our wedding at the Willow Ballroom! From the second we stepped into the building, we knew it was the one. The charming chandeliers, exposed piping, concrete and brick walls, and white draping makes it have such an enchanting and romantic, yet industrial feel. This was my first visit to the Willow Ballroom, and I would consider it a well-kept secret of the Sacramento area. The wedding I attended had the combination of a rustic, industrial building and elegant décor, with candle and chandelier lighting, exposed brick, and stunning draping to separate the spaces between venue areas. Oh my goodness! Where do I begin?! My husband and I fell in love with The Willow Ballroom. It was love at first sight. We scouted and searched for a perfect venue & we had no luck something was always killing the vibe we wanted. But when we walked into the Willow Ballroom it just took our breath away. We instantly knew we wanted to get married here. The brick walls, the concrete, beautiful chandeliers! All so elegant but soft and a perfect canvas for any style! Angelica was so so so helpful with everything & understanding! ( I am a super picky person) so she even raised chandeliers for us & more. It was a fairytale wedding! Attended a friend's wedding at The Willow Ballroom this past weekend and I absolutely LOVED the venue! The exposed brick, glamorous chandeliers and draping looked absolutely amazing!! I had an absolutely terrible experience with this venue. They got shut down a week before my wedding by the county because of some code violations they never corrected. It was completely irresponsible of a business and wedding vendor to allow something like that to happen. This is peoples weddings we're talking about! Event coordinator was hard to get in touch with when we tried to contact her. Her inexperience was really apparent during the whole process. The venue doesn't offer a lot so you will have to provide a lot of your own stuff. Bridal suite was really the front office area, not super pretty, and really nowhere for the groom/groomsmen to get ready or hang out beforehand. I'm glad that there were some pleased brides that had the chance to have their wedding here before me but for me, a bride who had to move everything to a new venue 9 days before her date, this is definitely a venue I will give a 1 star rating to, if not lower. Thank goodness for my coordinator, family, and friends I was able to move my wedding on such short notice. My wedding was amazing and beautiful so it was a blessing in disguise to get out of The Willow Ballroom. read more

Such a beautiful venue! We had our wedding there this month and it was even more beautiful than I expected once all of the decor came together. We got so many compliments from our guests telling us how wonderful and unique the space was. Angelica is fantastic to work with and went out of her way to accommodate us. They provide some essentials, but other than that, it is a blank canvas where you can bring in all of your own stuff. Some venues are weird about charging you extra to work with vendors that aren't on their preferred list, but The Willow Ballroom and Angelica were happy to work with everyone we chose. Angelica has done a beautiful job turning the Willow Ballroom into a dream wedding venue. There's a lot to talk about of the venue. I'll just go over the parts that were important to me. We just had our amazing winter wedding here this past weekend. Aesthetics - You already know it looks amazing in photos. It's just indescribable how breathtaking it looks in person. Eclectic chandeliers on chandeliers on chandeliers giving you the perfect indoor lighting for that warm glow in photos. I'm not sure what the right word is to describe this place because there are many wonderful, contrasting aspects that meshes so well together. It's vintage, yet modern. Rustic but also sleek. Big and industrial, yet warm and bistro. The best thing I can say to really express my thoughts about the place is that it's stunningly gorgeous. Better for you to see it in person. Layout - The venue is BIG. It can fit a lot of people inside. I know of another couple who had over 300 guests there. Additionally, it's still a great venue even if your guest count is on the smaller side. We had a fairly average size amount of people there (between 130-140), and it was awesome. A lot of space to walk around, but it also didn't feel empty. The added drapery (which you can rent through Angelica of the Willow Ballroom) helps break up the space to create intimate sections while elevating the decor to a whole new level. We had ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all indoors for my winter wedding and it was perfect. There are a lot of options that you can choose from in terms of ceremony layout. Angelica has done this many times in so many different ways that she knows exactly how to make it look good. Additionally, there's a beautiful bridal suite for brides just around the corner of the building. I honestly didn't expect much from it until I saw how beautifully decorated it was. You don't really think about this too much, but it really does provide you a great location for some wonderful getting-ready photos. So this was a great added bonus. Photography spots - There are so many parts of the venue that photographers would love shooting in, whether its indoors, or outside around the building. We took some amazing shots using the brick walls, the painted walls with beautiful rustic doors, and even some overlooking the Sacramento River. They also allowed us to use this beautiful nearby estate for more wedding location shots. I appreciate that it has a variety of types of spots a photographer can work with so that you can get different scenes for your photos. I really couldn't see any negatives here because this was probably the main reason why we chose this venue for our wedding. BYOB (optional) - Huge bonus (if you calculate it right). You can buy and choose your own type/brand of alcohol and bring it in to the venue to use as long as it is served by licensed and insured bartenders. We hired bartenders through our caterers so that made vendor management very easy. I'll admit that I miscalculated and way over purchased on certain spirits and wine. You can view this as a bad and good thing, because I now have a ton of booze in the house for the remainder of the year. :) If I had to do it all again, I'd probably just go let the caterers provide the alcohol next time. But hey...the after-party was fully stocked! The venue has a couple of long bar tables that they offer for use, and both look beautiful. They seriously pay attention to all these details that many other venues take for granted. Initial Concerns - 1) One of my initial concerns, similar to other reviews, was that we needed to go through the preferred vendors list for the Caterer and DJ. But man oh man, it's worth it! They have partnered with some amazing vendors who know what they're doing and are amazing at it. Having vendors who are familiar with the venue and have experience working there makes setup, execution, and tear down easy. They know where to go, what the venue has, and what technical issues may arise, if any. We didn't have any. The venue doesn't have a kitchen, so choosing a catering company from their list makes sense since they all have experience with creating satellite kitchens if you have food that needs to be cooked at the venue. Also, since the venue is massive, the DJs on the preferred list have all trained to work with the acoustics of the building. An inexperienced DJ may not know how to work the sound physics of the venue. In the end, I'm glad I went through the preferred vendors list. They have some amazing, professional partners. 2) Because we had our wedding in January, I was worried about the cold temperatures. I'll say that there is some heating in the building and it was fine. Some people kept their coats on, others didn't. Not something you really need to stress about. In conclusion, Angelica and the Willow Ballroom helped us create a dream wedding. We had an amazing day. I'd highly recommend them. read more

Located in the Sacramento Delta, the Willow Ballroom is about 15 miles south of downtown Sacramento in the town of Hood, CA. The original purpose of the building, 100 years ago, was to store local agriculture in these cold storage spaces. Now repurposed into an event center, The Willow Ballroom is open and booking weddings, private events and much more! We booked this venue about 1.5 years before our wedding date. They provided timelines and suggestions on what to do to prepare for your wedding. Then reminded you when you had appointments coming up and were flexible if you were running slightly late. They had tons of options to make the wedding personalized for you, from the food to the decorations and even the timeline. I told them that I did not want to be stressed out at my wedding, I had heard horror stories about brides not enjoying their wedding because of this or that. Liz did a fantastic job of wrangling all the wedding party together, organizing the first looks, putting someone in charge to make sure we got some of the food we purchased. I threw last minute add-ons like drone pictures and a remote control car with a 2 yr old in it at her and she handled as the pro she is. We used the recommended flower shop (Camino Flower shop) to provide the flowers. She is such a fun lady to work with. I'm not a person who usually can express exactly what I want, but she read between the lines and created a truely unique bouquet with the blue orchids (did you know there was such a thing?). We also used Cocomont (not included the wedgewood package) to help us with our decoration. This included a elegant rustic wooden panel and huge drapes to go high into the beams. It really added the personal touch we were looking for. Frank's Bakery from Cameron Park was the vendor for our desserts. He made the most delicious lemon bars and cupcakes. Then Grant DJ was our MC, who kept the party going till it was time to turn-off the lights. We were dancing all night long, with no lulls in the music. Overall this is a romantic, elegant, and beautiful venue run by a management who are truely the professionals at what they do. I was able to actually enjoy my wedding and not worry about whether we were on time. This is something you won't hear many brides say, just ask your friends. The server told us they operate out of a food truck. So the menu is limited. But what they make is really good! We ordered the lemonade, chicken and waffles, huevos rancheros divorciados, and the strawberry champagne sherbet. Service was very prompt! The actual menu in-person had a couple items that aren't on the sample menu including a couple more dessert options like fig ice cream. We really liked everything we tried! The portions were pretty good. If coming here for food I'd recommend getting here early since food trucks have limited capacity. You're welcome to stroll around the property both the flower farm and the inn side before or after your meal. The parking situation is a gravel lot. So it may not be the most handicap accessible place. We had a lot of fun stopping by Park Winters. They were setting up for a wedding so the inn side would have been closed for the event starting at 1pm. The check also came with a small map of the property for you to keep. This was very helpful in exploring the property. The only caveat is this is the countryside. Wear long pants or be prepared with insect repellent! Even at 10am in the summer my legs were bitten by mosquitoes. (Type O blood. Mosquito magnet here.) I'd like if they burned some citronella candles to help with mosquitoes. The rest of the dining venue was so thoughtfully designed including timed misters (like at theme parks) to help keep the area cool. Definitely check it out if you're curious or in the area.

Angelica, the owner, was incredibly responsive and made everything clear and straightforward, ensuring that all our questions were answered and the details were handled without stress. The contract we signed was honored and everything went as planned. On the day of our wedding, Angelica was so clutch. She helped our wedding planner manage a lot of the logistics seamlessly, allowing us to fully enjoy our day without a worry. Her calming presence helped everything run smoothly, and I enjoyed our one on one golf cart rides :) Additionally, I was really impressed by how quickly Angelica processed and refunded our security deposit, which was another testament to how professional and efficient she is. While it definitely got the job done for a conference, it would definitely need a lot of dazzling up for something like a wedding. The other venues of Capital Plaza Halls might be more fancy. The Grand Ballroom room itself is totally functional, but the restrooms are in need of major upgrades and expansions. The appliances are old, and with so many people in attendance and only a few stalls, the bathroom lines were outrageous and the ventilation in the bathroom hallways was poor.

PS Had an awful flight home with an upset stomach and ended up jockeying between my bed and the bathroom with food poisoning for two days. I think the sausage was bad in the stuffed mushrooms. Either that or it was the coconut shrimp. The sauce (which was fruity like mango or pineapple or something) was very acidic tasting. Almost like vinegar. It reminded me of the fancy brunch buffets my very formal grandparents would take me to as a child. I appreciated the variety of food available, and the prime rib carving station was a nice touch. The grounds are so nicely landscaped and maintained and there really is a "mansion" feel to this place bc it is a mansion! It's amazing that that such a historical and fancy place is only 25 miles south of Sacramento in Walnut Grove in the Delta. Apparently, the Grand Island Mansion is the biggest private estate in NorCal. It was built in 1920 by Louis Myers, an orchard farmer, along with his wife Henrietta. They broke ground on 865-acre in 1917, so it took about 3 years to build. The Mansion has 58 rooms, all fancy and opulent, and was designed as a classic Italian Renaissance villa by renowned San Francisco architect J.W. Dolliver and is 4-story tall with 24,000-square-foot of space! In the roaring 20s, high society gathered here for gatherings and high-end wining & dining, and guests were all wealthy and famous local and even national figures to include Greta Garbo, Erle Stanley Gardner, and former President Franklin D. Roosevelt and President Ronald Reagan! During the Great Depression in the 1930s, the Myers family's fortunes also diminished a lot, so they had to sell off their orchards and sadly, the mansion as well. Since the Mansion changed hands several times, it was not kept up in the 1930s-40s. Thankfully, a local restauranteur, Frank Perese bought it in 1950 and put in a commercial kitchen to try to revive the Mansion to make it a destination for fine dining. Then from the 1970s, the Mansion became a special events venue, and weddings were hosted here beginning around 1980. In recent years, it has evolved into a luxurious location for weddings and events with a 14-seat private theater added, Italian gardens nicely maintained, and original artwork and lavish hotel rooms, all of which are really well kept to preserve this historical property and to keep it as a premier wedding and special occasions celebration destination. We really enjoyed attending our friends' wedding here and taking in all the sights and sounds of this grand mansion and may have to come back for brunch or tea in the future.

Even with unexpected March heat, they had a large misting fan that kept everyone cool and comfortable. Lynette was amazing! professional, warm, and truly on top of every detail. We found just what we were looking for at the Old Town Courtyard in Elk Grove... and Lynette Wall was amazing to work with! She listened to what we were wanting to achieve and then she came up with a menu and ideas to help make the celebration exactly what we were looking for. Those that attended the celebration all remarked how lovely the courtyard was and how perfect everything turned out. We could not have achieved this without Lynette. My cousin's had their baby shower at the community center here last Sunday. It's a great event…read morespace to hold large group parties of 50 people of more. The event space is very spacious which includes the main area plus a huge full in-house kitchen. They provide round tables and chairs included with in the rental. All that you need is decorations like table covers to really make the place pop. You are basically given a blank slate to decorate it up to your theme. The only thing they don't allow as decorations is balloons and confetti, as those are difficult to clean up. They don't have a sound system, so you would need to provide that yourself. The restrooms are clean with two stalls for each the men's and women's restrooms. Because the community center has windows throughout, so much natural light makes the space warm and inviting. Great party space to consider for your next event!

It was a very nice turn out. The Pavillion was a perfect place to have a memorial. Adequate room for the placement of tables & chairs. There is a full kitchen in the back where caterers set up along with buffet table. Very similar at how my reception was arranged including a space for a band or DJ. There is also plenty of parking surrounding the building. I was surprised to see that after all these years I would only be the second Yelper to review this hall located in the ever popular Elk Grove Park. A place holding important memories that I will always cherish.......
