I'm feeling this is Claremont's best kept secret and it shouldn't be. Let's be honest, not much going on in terms of food scene in Claremont so I'm rating this my number one. The ambiance is so warm and welcoming. I love the decor. Staff....say less.....they are amazing and know everything on the menu. The manager, Patrick, definitely a true gem. He came around to every table. Great for large parties and kid friendly. Menu has everything for any palate. They have a full bar with a great cocktail selection. They give complimentary bread such as garlic rolls with also a selection of a sweet bread of the day. We started w the parm garlic truffle taters. I had the tuna lo mein bowl that could have fed 3 people. Husband had the chicken Mexican style. Located behind the Inn. Parking seems limited but don't let that deter you. We will definitely be back as we had such a wonderful time. Food was excellent.

We were seated outside with a carafe so water - no glasses, no silverware. Our waitress- who was very sweet- said she would be right back. 20 minutes later the manager came over and asked if our server had been over . We responded about 20 minutes ago. He looked at our table and said ok if you need anything just let me know. First should he have noticed that there were no water glasses or silverware? She came back and was very sweet she took our drink order, appetizer order and dinner order. She also offered us bread and told us cracker bar was in the lobby. Food wise - arancini appetizer was delicious!!! Diner - apple walnut stuffed chicken- other than the chicken being very dry it was tasty. Unfortunately I do not have any photos of our food. I would not recommend the apple walnut stuffed chicken

    * ** *** **** ***** EXCEPTIONAL ~ Wow !!! Shout out to the Chef, the Kitchen and to the manager Patrick (!!!) for a remarkably enjoyable Thanksgiving Feast - prepared beautifully and packaged Perfectly in to-go boxes. The food was fabulous and was portioned large enough to feed 6-8 people. The Turkey was mouthwateringly tender, moist and flavorful. A THANK YOU from those who are required at Dartmouth Health for the holiday, we thank you !!! If I lived in the valley ... this would be my "go-to" every single Thanksgiving Holiday!!! Terrific Food, perfectly packaged with a fun upbeat pick- up interaction. Patrick and his team are true professionals who know what they're doing, and we were lucky to have selected their Thanksgiving Take-Out this year.

Ate here twice and ordered in once while staying at the Inn- first night was steak, ordered in an assortment of appetizers, and last night was pot roast and the pulled pork mac and cheese. The pot roast was sooooo tender! It was an excellent meal! And the steak with asparagus was super yum! The pulled pork mac and cheese was deceptively bigger than it originally looked! Service is great and the food hits the spot! The decor is perfect and matches the inn as well as the riverside vibe. Will be back again on my next visit!

A perfect night out with an interesting, lively atmosphere and great selections from the menu. We ordered several plates off the menu, all delicious and well made with a fair price tag. We did not leave hungry! Service was impeccable. We were seated as soon as we walked in on a busy night and food arrived at our table in a reasonable time. The star of the show is the atmosphere at this restaurant. There is so much to look at and admire, how could you not fall in love with this place? I seriously love how the check at the end is presented in an old book they allow people to sign on. Do not miss this spot!

Really cool and historic setting. It was in an old textile mill, and the toilets were real nice. There was a no phone policy, which I feel like wasn't needed. We're all adults here there's no need for you to tell me what to do. I had to risk my life to take these pictures. What if I had pressing matters or someone was in trouble? You just never know. There were free crackers and dip in the front that you could get if desired. The food was not fantastic. The only thing that was really delish were the bacon wrapped shrimp. Some dishes also had very small servings. Afterwards one of my friends got very sick due to the food as well.

The pot roast is so good I seldom order anything else. I've tried half the menu and liked it all. Great place.

What really made the visit for me was the service. Our server (I wish I remembered her name) was very friendly, helpful with making suggestions for a picky grandchild (she was very happy with her meal, thanks to the server!) and she was very personable, making us feel welcome and not rushed in the least. The only negative I can report, and the reason for 4 stars instead of five was the amount of room at the table; for two adults and three children it was a bit tight but our server did her best with clearing unused items so that we were able to use the little space we did have. Thank you for being a part of our successful "date night" with the grandchildren. :)

After that, we were told that we had to go to the bar to order any additional drinks, after waiting over 1/2 hour for our waitress to come back to our table. We ordered the corned beef dinner, only to get a stew-like dinner that had so much fat in it. So much for $19 spent on each of the two dinners. I liked going to this establishment because it's so close to my house, but why should my bill be almost $100 for two frozen food dinners and margaritas that are not even made correctly? Sour mix is NOT an ingredient in margaritas. The final straw was tonight when I took my mom in for dinner and drinks. When I asked Erica for my tab, she brought over my check and told me that because I was paying with a card, I had to go to the bar to use the machine, even though the device is designed to be portable (taken to a table for the patron to pay the bill). The food is way overpriced for frozen stuff that I could make at home, the drinks are not fresh and made properly, and the guest should not have to go to the bar to settle the bill. What really kills me is that there is a photo of John Taffer from Bar Rescue hanging on the wall with the owner of this establishment, but quite obviously, the "owner" just doesn't care about the quality of products being delivered to his guests, nor guest hospitality. The booth seats are in bad repair and quite uncomfortable. You have definitely lost me as a customer in your establishment.

Luckily, we didn't have reservations on a busy Friday night and scored a seat downstairs near the fireplace. Parking was a bit tight, but we managed to find a spot close by. The interior was beautifully decorated with string lights and barn wood beams, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. Our waitress was very kind and clearly tried her best to accommodate the entire front of the restaurant on her own - for her first evening on the job, she did a great job. We both enjoyed the specials - salmon with broccoli and rice pilaf, plus I had a delicious beet salad. I enjoyed a refreshing raspberry mocktail, while my friend had THE RUBY SLIPPER--Absolut Ruby Red, elderflower liqueur, grapefruit juice, raspberry puree, and a sugar rim. We waited a bit for our check since I was in a rush to leave to take antihistamines; unfortunately, I discovered there was mustard in the salmon sauce, which I'm allergic to. I should have asked before ordering, but I only realized after my symptoms started following my last bite. Overall, it's a cozy, quaint place with limited parking, and reservations are recommended for a smoother experience.

Live music on certain nights, but not the two times we went. We tend to have dinner early though. Starter salads and soups were delicious and homemade. I had a Spanish onion soup on one night and a caprese salad variation another night (fresh mozzarella and summer tomatoes with a basil aioli)! Mains were equally delicious - herb wrapped tenderloin cooked to rare perfection, Carlos Chicken (a brined half chicken then coated with Cajun seasoning and deep fried). We have also had the pork loin and another chicken dish that had a creamy, sublime sauce. Definitely indulge in the bread basket and desserts; all of which are made by Heidi, one of the several family members that have been running the Skunk since the mid-80s. From-scratch delicious food, really lovely garden seating, and great cocktails! And last but not least, really friendly, attentive and professional wait staff. All the reasons why locals come often and vacationers come back year after year!

Upon arrival, the heavy set gentleman who greeted us said to follow him and then proceeded to put menus on a table which did not appear to be designated for us and then walked into the kitchen with us still following. We then stood there confused and another employee wasn't even sure what table was supposed to be ours. I am still to this day not sure what that interaction was. We only had one basic question for our server while ordering an app. There was some sort of appetizer sampler platter on the special menu that we considered getting. It has some sort of fried mozzarella on it and we were trying to determine if that was the same or different than the cheese curds. She had no idea. We ended up getting the cheese curds due to the confusion over the sampler platter. They were the best part of the meal. My brother had the wings. Nothing fancy. I was super excited for the maple pork entree since I scanned the menu earlier in the day. It really had no flavor. The menu said it came with mashed sweet potato. It did not. It came with regular mashed. Their menu had some typos on it as well. The whole experience was annoying considering we expected a way better dinner overall based on the how website and reviews portrayed them. I would not recommend.
