Short ribs with mushroom risotto and glazed carrots
Stephanie L.

The Wine Bistro used to be one of my favorite spots. I love the ambiance and the menu. We went for the first time in a long time, and I was very much looking forward to it. I was a bit disappointed overall, although there were some highlights. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is still fantastic. And it was quiet, perfect for date night[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. And I enjoyed my short ribs very much. But the service was lackluster. Our server seemed inexperienced and uninterested. And I know this is such a small thing to complain about...but I added a chopped salad and it was awful. I love a good side salad, and I'm happy to pay for it. It's $8 to add one to your entree. A bit steep, but in this economy, I get it. Charge the $8, that's fine. But give me a GOOD salad! This bowl of bland lettuce was not it. I wanted to send it back (I know, I wanted to be THAT person) but our server was unavailable so I couldn't. I'm just kind of sad that such a beautiful restaurant was underwhelming. For the money, I'll go somewhere else.

I'm grateful that the wine bistro could accommodate our party of 20. Unfortunately, I would not return to dine here on my own. While I love the concept of wine tasting and enjoying a bottle room, the food is just average. We had a sampling of popcorns (so salty- I get it they're trying to sell wine) and hummus with flat bread and veggies (standard). We had a choice between a bunch of different entrees. I had the steak salad (generous portion). My friends' chose the burger (burnt) that came with sad potato chips and another friend got the flatbread pizza that was bland. There was a party of two men that were glaring at us all night because the sound amplifies in the space. Again, grateful they could accommodate a large party and I wouldn't return.

Not a single miss on the menu! Such a great variety, all with outstanding wine. Indoor & outdoor seating available as well as private dining and tastings too. Tried the bold red wine flight but there is also a white wine flight available. On the drink menu, there are also cocktails, beer, and a full wine list. Highly recommend the Tuscan popcorn as a starter. The maple bourbon bread pudding was the cherry on top of the entire meal. Perfect portion to share with another too. Staff was friendly and service was great.

I was pleasantly surprised with the wine bistro'! I wasn't expecting much for the food but it was very delicious. One star off because the selection of wine to order in house in actually somewhat small. I was expecting much more. We started with their house salad which was delicious. They don't have many exciting apps, so maybe adding some more tapas or easy groups eats would be good. I ordered the beef stroganoff and my boyfriend had the twin filets. The steak was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. My stroganoff hit this spot. I would recommend adding a slice of bread to the dish though. Overall - a good dinner! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is welcoming but not as many seats as it looks like there would be.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was attentive and kind. I would definitely come back.

I was visiting for dinner with friends and my partner. While I didn't not order any wine, we did order cheese boards and entrees for dinner. As a vegetarian, I was very limited to a few appetizers, soups, flat breads, and salads with no protein. All of the entree meals were made with meat. So instead, I ordered the prosciutto apple honey flatbread without the prosciutto and was very disappointed. The flatbread was burnt and was the texture of a tortilla with no real flavor. It was barely filling. I couldn't taste the garlic sauce or honey which is supposed to enhance the taste of apples and cheese. My partner ordered the shrimp risotto and was also very underwhelmed. My partner stated the risotto texture was very off. The ambiance and service was good but I wouldn't come here for anything more than a glass of wine. The appetizers are small proportions and the cheese boards are the only thing that would be worth getting with wine.

I went here with a group of eight and the waiter was attentive to all of our needs. Most of our group ordered the Pick Two items for lunch called the Blank and Blank. I ordered the tomato bisque soup and the 1/2 chicken Waldorf sandwich. My food was delicious! I would love to come back again!

Love the wine flight on the patio with my daughter for mother day and it was great. We done a white wine flight and a glass of pinot Grigio. We decided to get the Tuscan popcorn and wow what a great surprise. It is so delicious. I can't wait to go back and try other items. The service was good.

Celebrated a friends engagement on a sunny Wednesday and the Wine Bistro was perfect! We made a reservation and were lucky to get their patio. Despite being on a busier road it was not too loud or overwhelming but a cute vibe! Parking was easy, especially with the added garage just next door. And our food and wine were delicious. I love trying their flights for variety and the Summer Lovin was truly perfect for warm weather. The fondue trio and baked Brie were delicious but the trio will always be a go to - all three cheeses have a unique taste profile that's creamy and pies perfectly with the warm, soft pita! Highly recommend

Shrimp and Risotto

Incredible experience from start to finish for our large birthday group. We had an incredible server that was very down to earth and knowledgable. We enjoyed trying new wines that came out very cold to enjoy. We shared a side salad along with the chicken pesto spaghetti and shrimp and risotto entrees. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a group or with family/date night.

This is a tricky review as I've been here once before and don't remember anything knocking my socks off. I returned on Saturday for Restaurant Week with a friend to give it another shot. Location and ambience is great, however the service/hospitality just really ruined the entire experience for me. Upon arriving, the host had no facial expressions and actually appeared disgraced that we arrived. I had a reservation and she (very unwillingly) sat us on the patio. They were moderately busy. Our service was the same. I guess I expect great service when I go out at a local type restaurant, and unfortunately Gaby (name on receipt) didn't deliver such experience. Nothing happened during our experience, but she certainly did not go out of her way to show any type of "service " and absolutely didn't go above and beyond in any way. The only redeeming part of my dinner was the food. I will say the Winery salad and shrimp risotto were SUPERB! I was disappointed in the presentation of the dessert we got to go (key lime pie) was just thrown in a cup, but the food...*chef's kiss*! I don't remember enjoying whatever I had this much in the prior visit I had. Keep your chef and put more into training your front of house staff. Location and ambiance: 4/5 *they have their own parking which is important to me Service/hospitality: 1/5 *DO BETTER! I was just at Agave & Rye and you can tell they are TRAINED to be stellar in this area Food: 5/5 *LOVED my food, but service matters. I likely won't return because of this

I cannot wait to go back! The restaurant gives a vintage and thrifty vibe and is surprisingly large, though it doesn't look like it from the street. We went for an early dinner so it wasn't too busy but our server, Ben, was very helpful and familiar with the menu. He was able to give us options and recommendations for gluten free items for myself. As for the food, everyone loved it. The Juliette was a unique and tasty flavor profile that we recommend. I also got the strawberry pecan salad which was large and quite filling! My sister had gotten a burger and my dad got the salmon BLT, both of which were reportedly very good! I like the unique combinations and flavor profiles of the items on their menu and we are ready to go back soon!

Creme Brulee

Very nice restaurant with a cozy vibe. Excellent food (I have had the pasta, flatbreads, and winery salad). Crème brûlée is delicious! Really good service every time I have gone. Most recently went with a group of 10 people and they were really good with managing a large group. This is my favorite place to go out to dinner in Columbus!

The last two times I went here, it was so hot. Turn up the AC for the love of God. Your patrons are melting.

I really enjoy this place and I've been visiting more and more often these days. It's just such a chill wine bar. The vibes are always on point, the staff is lovely (shoutout Chelsea for always being awesome), their selection is great, and the prices are fair. If you ever want to enjoy some food while sipping a glass you can order it from Hubbard Grill next door and they'll bring it over to you. If you want some entertainment during your visit, they have a TV but the people watching on High St is prime time. They also have an upstairs which is perfect if you have a party. Give them a visit next time you're in need of a relaxing time and a glass of your favorite wine.

Once we realized we didn't, we went downstairs to order our drinks and food at the bar. I had the braised beef sliders with brussel sprouts and they were so good! The food is from Hubbard Grill so that's a fun addition. The wine section is vast, but there is a corkage fee of around $12 for any bottle bought in the store that you want to drink.

When the server--"Yana"--approached us, I grew less optimistic that all was well. I ordered a martini. When I asked if they have blue cheese olives, she told me "they cost extra." I thought she was joking, but she was not. (I learned when the bill came that my small martini cost 21 bucks. When I told the server at one point that I've never seen a martini in a cordial glass before, she informed me with some attitude, "It's still three ounces." I confirmed that I wasn't challenging her, but simply commenting on the non-traditional glass. Later, I ordered a diet coke. "We have Boylan's" she told me. "If it's a diet cola, that will be fine." When she brought it, she twisted the lid, poured most of the soda in my glass and took the bottle away with the remaining soda. I called her back after I'd taken a sip and said, "This tastes like rootbeer." Again with what seemed like attitude, she showed me the bottle and told me "it says diet cola." The server interrupted us at our table multiple times, reached over us to serve us, and took away plates we were still using. It felt less like fine dining "service" and more like what you would expect at a church dinner. The server was abrupt and seemed disinterested in trying curate a positive experience. The food, to be clear, was quite good, but that was the extent of the success for the evening. The menu prices would make sense if the service was above reproach, but it was NOT excellent service. Had the place been packed out, it might have made more sense that the service was compromised, but we actually commented on how light the attendance seemed to be for a Saturday evening. My hope is that the management might consider more staff training (or adjust their "fine dining" prices to match the service.)

I think they are doing something unique in Columbus and I am happy to see them as busy as ever. I will say, the menu is eclectic and some of the dishes are more successful than others. On a recent visit, we loved the bacon wrapped dates, the charred green beans, the croquettes, and mixed greens salad. The birria tacos were fine, but not amazing. There are some great birria tacos in this city and they did not compare. The spicy chocolate martini was a perfect finish to the meal. Very spicy, very chocolatey, and not overly sweet.
