I've eaten at the Wing Hut a few times, and each time I like them a little more. First off, they price their wings by the pound. Why is that a plus you ask? Well have you ever ordered six wings and had them come from the smallest chickens that must have ever existed? The ordering by weight helps with that. While yes if you get smaller wings you're still mostly paying for bones, but at least you get more of them and don't feel jipped. My favorite flavor is the Spicy Parmesan Garlic. I've tried some others such as the fire ranch, but that one left me with a lingering burning sensation on my tongue and got my glands sweating. They also do a great job with their sides, with both the curly fries and hush-puppies being a perfect partner to your wings. At some point I'd like to try the red beans and rice, but then I'm stuck with the choice of what to cut from my perfectly crafted meal. read more

I can't choose a specific flavor so whenever we go we just order a bunch and then grill them later (side note this is really really really good!) the staff is always incredibly friendly and definitely down to tell you about the new stuff they have. First time ordering tonight. We decided to have it delivered because we were watching a playoff football game. We should have just gone to pick it up since we live 6 mins away.. We were told 45-60 mins for delivery. I called after waiting an hour and a half. They did apologize and said someone should have called saying it was going to be later because the driver had an issue. We got our food, and it wasn't hot, just somewhat warm. The fries were soggy like they were sitting in the bag for a while. Didn't even eat the fried pickles because they were cold, so that was a waste of $5. Food was ok, but not the best. I will openly and somewhat-proudly admit, I'm a wing snob. I grew up in Buffalo, NY, where I was surrounded by the best wings on earth until I moved away. Because of my unnatural love of chicken wings, whenever I move to a new city, I have to try as many wing places as possible in an effort to find something close enough to the wings I grew up with. Pros: 1) The sauces are amazing. Lots of choices, accurately ranked in heat order, and you can split your order into different sauce groups without any hassle. I particularly enjoy the Medium Buffalo and the Bee String. 2) The wings are cooked nicely. 3) The staff is ridiculously friendly and the service is great. Even when it's just one waitress on duty during the lull after lunch, she takes the time to check on tables throughout the meal, without hovering. 4) Lunch specials are a pretty good deal. 5) Good blue cheese Cons: 1) Almost too much sauce. Could probably be fixed by asking for light sauce or ordering it on the side. I never remember to, and then the food shows up with the wings taking a bit of a swim, so at that point it's too late. 2) Wings could stand to be a bit crispier. This is probably related to the over-saucing, and could probably be fixed by ordering extra crispy, haven't tried it. 3) The soda machine and selection is pretty terrible. There's never enough carbonation and the flavor choices leave a lot to be desired. I do appreciate that they're carrying a specialty-brand soda on tap, but I'm just not a fan. You might know some other places that have "good wings" in addition to the rest of the items on their menu, but let's not forget that those same places still treat wings as a side. An appetizer. A warmup act. If they really cracked the code, wouldn't they want those wings front and center? Wing Hut is home to such code crackers, dishing out heaps of perfectly cooked and seasoned wings with a smorgasbord of flavors. Favorites include Bee Sting, Swinger, and All That, but you could do worse than explore the deep selection their menu offers. Don't hold back on the sides, either, as you'll want something to dip into the excess sauce at the bottom of each basket. Or you can just cup it with your hands like a fresh mountain spring and slurp away. I won't judge. Just when you think it couldn't get any better, BAM: DESSERT. The Strawberry Shortcake Funnel Cake Fries are excellent and will leave you licking your fingers for the umpteenth time. Final side note: If you order ranch or blue cheese dressing, there's a reason they charge extra for it. It had been a while since I've had some good wings, so I was excited to try Wing Hut. My biggest complaint of wings places is that they don't provide enough sauce/dry spice. Well that's not a concern at Wing Hut. My Bee Sting hot honey wings had plenty of delicious sweet and spicy sauce, while there was also plenty of dry spice for my Cajun wings. Wings were cooked perfectly and came out nice and hot. A total of a pound + a side of sweet potato fries was the perfect amount to fill me up. And those fries were also great. Service was great, as the girl behind the order counter was super friendly and helpful in guiding me through the menu. Although I did not have a beer, they have a few on draft. I may also have to try some of their non-wing Cajun-themed items someday. In the meantime, I look forward to trying some more flavors. So first off, the pin showing the map location is wrong. This place is actually on the NORTHEAST corner of Hampden and Chambers (near Dollar Tree), not southeast as the map indicates. I walked in to place a take out order, and the guy behind the counter was really nice. The service inside the store was very prompt and I didn't have to wait very long for my food. When I asked for boneless wings with hot honey bbq sauce, he said that they didn't have a hot honey bbq (I guess I read the menu on Yelp incorrectly?); BUT, he would be happy to mix their regular honey bbq with some hot buffalo sauce! It ended up being really heavy on the buffalo sauce and I couldn't really taste the honey bbq, but they get props for offering a special solution for me. We also had bone-in wings with fire ranch (which was too spicy for me but my husband really liked it). I thought the bone-in wings were tough and stringy; the boneless ones were much more succulent, so I'm glad I chose them for myself. For sides, we shared a large garden salad that was plenty big enough for two (really fresh, too, with very crisp lettuce and cucumber), zucchini fries, and hush puppies. Yum! The zucchini fries and the hush puppies were hands-down my favorite part. They were golden and crispy with a very flavorful breading on the outside, and perfectly done in the center. I definitely give the overall quality of the food here high marks. My only complaints are, firstly, that the ranch for dipping the zucchini fries and dressing the salad was extremely runny, which is a pet peeve of mine. It still had the right ranch-y spices and flavor, but it was way watered down. Secondly, they did not include any cutlery in my to-go bag, even though they did include plates and napkins. This was almost a disaster because we were eating at Dry Dock, but thankfully we were able to scrounge up some forks there. So, minus one star for those two things. It seemed like we ordered a lot of food (1 pound bone-in wings, small boneless, large salad, zucchini fries, and hush puppies), but the portions were not overly large and we shared the sides. This lunch cost $13/person (so I believe Wing Hut should be classed in the $$ range) and we were comfortably full, but not stuffed. read more

I eat here a lot during football season, they're a bit pricey if you get a lot of sides but they have some great chickenlegs, I say legs because only about a third of what you buy is wings but that's not really a problem for me. But hey, who goes to a cajun/wing place for onion rings and jalapeno poppers? Pretty large selection of sauces, some of which are way too spicy to safely consume. Great place for wings and cajun food, their sides are overpriced and have varying quality. If you're planning a party I suggest picking up the veggies at the store rather than spending your money on their overpriced veggy sides. Their rice side is however a must-get if you get the redbeans & rice because they never give you enough. Their eating area, while sparse, has little TVs that you can watch while waiting for your food and each table has cute little chicken themed napkin holders, they also have a giant bayou mural that gives the place some character. Go, you won't regret it. The food is great, the customer service is better. I went here for lunch with my dad. He ordered the larger special, and got Bee Sting bone-in wings and Jerk dry-rub bone-in wings; I ordered Bee Sting and Chili Lime boneless wings. Dad got the potato salad with his order, which is apparently homemade and was fantastic (I finished his off once he was full). I asked if I could get half sweet-potato fries and half curly fries with my combo, and Ryan was very accommodating. Each combo included a pound of wings, a side, and drinks. Dad opted for their sweet tea, and I found myself drawn to the Jones Soda(!) fountain. The food was top-notch, ready quickly, and freshly prepared. Both types of fries were great, the potato salad was killer, and the drinks were fantastic. The bleu cheese sauce is homemade and my dad said perhaps the best he's ever had; I prefer big chunks of bleu cheese, which this didn't have, but it still tasted great. The wings were out of this world on all accounts, though a bit more sauced than I personally prefer - more on that in a minute. Customer service was extraordinary. We dealt mostly with Ryan during our trip, though we did get a chance to tell the cook how awesome he was too. As this was our first time here, Ryan helped us out with explanations of their specials and products, made suggestions, told us the most popular dishes, and just generally made sure we had a good experience. He brought us a sample of a couple of great beers from the tap (Dry Dock's Apricot Blonde, from the brewery across the street - fruity, malty, very nice, and Dry Dock's Aprihot w/ roasted Habanero peppers - like the Apricot Blonde but sneakily spicy). When I asked if NEXT time I'd be able to order my wings with less sauce on them, if that was something they'd be able to do, Ryan brought me a new order (which I def. wasn't asking for, he just took it on himself to make sure I was happy). Let me make it clear, I was asking because it was my mistake, I forgot to ask for lightly sauced like I usually do, and they certainly didn't have to bring me new wings - because I was going to finish the ones I had.
