Pretty rings, necklaces, and a few good crystals. This store is more of a gimmicky witch shop selling vials of glitter as faerie jars and fake crystals. Not the worst I've been to but the bald man could definitely be less rude to customers, a group of teenagers getting a whole basket of items dropped a top for a little metal storage box they were trying to move to their basket and he yelled at them. Not the worst but better ones are definitely out there especially the ones in old town spring. Love the jewlery I got but definitely won't be returning any time soon. read more

I forgot how I found this shop, but I was looking for a psychic and somehow I ended up on their website. The store owner told me how their policy worked in terms of waiting in line and that they will call you when it was time for your reading. My husband and I got there around 2:30pm and was called for our reading at around 5:00pm. Our psychic reader Ms. Sharon Michelle is the real deal because both my husband and I did not ask her what our questions were, but she was able to tell us right away what was troubling us. Happy to say all of our worries had good news at the end of this "Saturn in retrograde" issue, so I'am looking forward for the good news we were promised after August 13th =). staff is very very rude and entitled. my mom was showing me what this shop had to offer on facetime because she was going to be sending me things as i live out of state & the lady there told her she needs to get off her phone(essentially demanding her). id understand if she just politely asked her to turn down the volume but the AUDACITY the lady had left me speechless. my mom walked out right away and when her friend heard what happened she went inside to let the owner know how rude his employee was. but all THE OWNER had to say to her was "BYE KAREN"! you'd think a crystal store would have good vibrations but i felt nothing but evil from them. i'm glad my mom didn't purchase anything from here and potentially claim the bad energies of this store. read more

Surrounded by local artists and great snack spots this store is a must see. It's got a great herb selection for all your conjuring needs. Crystals and candles of all colors and sizes. A veritable book worms paradise for all sorts of off menu appetites. The service was exceptional with a smile. Last but not least if your looking for a idol to adorn your alter look no further. This is definitely one of the best, beautifully laid out metaphysical stores I have ever been to. In the past, our travels found us on Post Office St on a Monday (they are closed Mondays), so we had never been able to set foot inside until one recent Sunday afternoon. When you walk in, you encounter the overwhelming smell of incense followed by the sights of books upon books. To the left, you have candles as well as all kinds of items for performing rituals. In the middle of the front room, you have all sorts of divination tools. The the back of the front room, you can find more books and shirts. Walking through to the back room, you can find items for your altar if you practice or for your bedroom if you like the aesthetic. There are statuettes of fairies and dragons. They also have a small collection of blank spell books. You can also have psychic readings done here and there are two rooms for them. We will definitely be making plans to come back again and explore some more. We love visiting stores like these and it is great to know you can find one on Galveston Island. read more

I was shopping for a birthday gift at a vintage clothing store and the owner recommended this place to me. I checked it out and was not disappointed (far from it). Along the walls were figurines of all sorts. My gaze fell upon the Furry Bones figurines. They were adorable, horrific and just what I was looking for. Thank you to the guy working the counter. When you think of an occult book store it brings up images of dark, musty rooms full of dusty old tomes where you might find a cage with a mogwai in it. Or you might think of Ray's Occult from Ghostbusters 2 where everything is jammed in there with hardly enough space to turn around. The Witchery is nothing like that. It has a lot of space to walk around and feels really comfortable. It's a calming space and one of the coolest stops in Galveston, which is saying something. From the smell of incense to the rows of interesting books, you will find yourself spending extra time perusing the shelves. There are books on everything from ceremonial magic to ghosts and vampires. Not that these folks believe vampires are real, but the point is there is some fun stuff in there as well as the serious. Even if you're not an avid reader there are plenty of other distractions. They have one of the most interesting music sections I've ever seen. It's very small, but everything there is a winner. There is also a selection of jewelry and artwork. This place isn't a good stop if you have small children or aren't open minded, but if you're looking for something other than the norm when in Galveston it's a must. read more

Normally I look forward to visiting the Witchery, and I was excited to bring my boyfriend to check it out. But when I entered with my service dog, a staff member asked me to carry my dog. I have never been asked to do that before, and I didn't want to upset anyone, so I tried carrying my dog (who is a fully trained service dog who is perfectly capable of walking through a store without going potty, and who actually provides a service by walking next to me). I really should have known my limits and told the staff member I could not carry my dog, because carrying my terrier caused my rheumatoid arthritis in my arms to flare. I ended up having to leave the store after a quick rush through because I had to carry the dog. My arms were in a lot of pain. I felt humiliated, and I ended up crying outside the store. I should have refused to carry the dog because I have arms crippled with arthritis, but I was trying to follow the staff request. My disability is not visible, and he probably thought I was a "normal" young person. Either way, I had such a bad experience I will probably do my witchy shopping closer to home next time. read more

Loved dropping by during art walk. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their merchandise and can give you some tips on choosing things.. I was interested in scented oils but heard a lot about power stones. I first thought I wanted something "pretty" and saw a tiger eye stone with some gunky crack in middle, I scratched off a piece of gunk and noticed that the others didn't really have this scar.. Thinking it was ugly I threw it back in the box of stones and read the descriptions on a sign and looked for one that gives courage, sure enough tiger eye was the stone I would need. So my sister and I looked again in box but this time I chose one with my eyes closed and coincidentally I picked up that same gunky cracked stone!! I flipped out a bit and knew I had to get that stone. I got the triple goddess oil which smells amazing!! I will be back to get a book and a charm necklace, they are so pretty! They also got Palm/tarot card reading farther in the store and a wishing well. Lots of pretty jewlery, sage and dollies. read more

Bad energy there. Although this place has lots of books, crystals, statues...etc... if you pay attention to the energy there - dark and low vibrational. I felt no love, compassion, or kindness there. Really cool shop! They have a witching well and an amazing selection of books. However, they hate kids. We went in to find tarot card and info for my 7 year old and she was looking at stones and one of the worker was very annoyed. They have a ton of signs up about kids as well. There are breakable things around so I understand but she was looking rocks and she was so sad that this place that we went for her didn't really want her there. Overall we will def go back hopefully for a reading but if you have a kid under 14 that's super interested in this stuff this prob isn't the right store. read more

Went there today with my mom and two daughters. We were set up to have 4 readings done. While waiting we were shopping around. I gave my daughters, who are 15 and 16, so not little kids a book to look at and possibly purchase. The owner told them to put the book back in its place. So I got the book back out to look thru with them. The owner came over to me and pointed out a tiny sign on his shelves that states, " please enjoy our books after you purchase them". My point was, how do you know you want it if you can't review it? He told me, " I can see your getting angry, but I'm trying to make a penny". Well, fine and dandy...the readings are 20 per person, times 4 people, that alone is $80. I was holding a book that was $20, plus some stones that were about $20 as well. The book my girls were looking at was $30. My mom had a book that was $30 as well. So, that's about $180ish not to mention tips and taxes. He didn't make that, because he was worried about making that penny. read more

As much as I love this store and have made many purchases here, I tried to come in with my service dog. The owner quickly said no dogs are allowed in which I replied that she is a service dog. He said i needed to provide papers for her, which under the Texas State Law, I did not need to provide. Due to my high anxiety already that day (which is why I had her as she alerts when I'm going to have an anxiety attack, distracts me during an attack, leads me to exits in crowded areas, keeps people away from me during an attack as that makes it much worse, etc.) I did not want to put up a fight. I am very disappointed on how he handled the situation and when we walked out the door he proceeded to make a verbal assumption that she is not a service dog. I was hoping to have made a purchase today but I wasn't willing to deal with the man any longer than I had to. read more

This is a really nice store! Seems well organized, not cluttered and easy to move through even on a busy weekend day. Good selection of products (books, candles, jewelry, gifts, and all of your witchery needs) including their herb selection. There are 2 card reading booths in the back room in case you need some guidance with the unknown. The vibe in here felt good and welcoming. I have been to other stores that serve the same community and something did not feel right when I walked into them. The Witchery seems very open to all even to the gawkers that these types of stores can attract. If you are sensitive to fragrance, be prepared. The incense smell in here can be very strong. After about 10 minutes, my eyes were watering and I could not breathe the air anymore. This is just my sensitivity and I don't hold anything against The Witchery for their usage. I have been wanting to go here for a while because I've begun to take an interest in crystals. I finally had a chance to go but this store had weird, unpleasant energy. The man behind the counter was starring a hole into me to the point where I felt very uncomfortable. I wasn't carrying a large bag or doing anything suspicious. My phone rang and I was scolded, asked to put my phone on silent and take any phone calls outside. I abruptly put my phone on silent and apologized but all he did was stare. There is nothing posted about no phones in the store. I bought a book on crystals and 3 crystals but now I'm regretting it. There was a lot of sinister imagery posted in the back and it was unsettling. I feel like I'm going to need to cleanse the heck out of these crystals due to the energy in the store. I love weird little shops, but sometimes they make you feel unwelcome. This place doesn't at all. When you walk in, you are immediately hit with the pungent odor of incense and a sincere welcome by the shop keeper. The prices are a bit steep, but it is a specialty shop so that should be expected. They have some really cool and foreign (to me) things that are worth seeing. Also you can get psychic readings in the back. Why not, right? read more
