Came here for dinner which was our first mistake. I'm sure the upstairs is fun for live music and drinks but the downstairs dining room was incredibly over priced and the food was honestly pretty bad. All of the entrees are over $23+, there are no sandwich or light fare options available. I choose the $20 salad bar which was horrible. There are two soups that are offered with the salad bar but no protein to put on your salad!!! I thought spending $20 there would at least be some chicken?? Bread is also not served so I had to sneak back a few rolls to the table for everyone. The pork chop was incredibly dry and the pasta primavera might has well been Alfredo. The service was great and our waitress was very friendly but a $300+ dinner for 6 (especially when we weren't heavily drinking) was completely unreasonable. read more

Had a dinner for 2 on 11/17 during the 50% locals dinner special. Had a short wait of about 20 minutes, but went to the bar upstairs to pass the time. Interesting ambiance for a pricier steakhouse, I felt a little more like I was in an Outback. The steaks were not included in the 50% entrees deal, but we decided to order them anyway, as we were in a steakhouse after all. I ordered the filet mignon and my boyfriend ordered the porterhouse. My steak was cooked perfectly and I thought it was amazing! However, they cooked my boyfriend's steak wrong and just from looks, it was much smaller than 18oz. Given that it was $100 for these 2 steaks alone, it was also disappointing that no sides were included. We did have the creme brulee for the dessert and that was amazing though! The one saving grace of this place (and the reason for 3 stars) was that our waitress decided to give us the 50% off the steaks anyway. In my opinion, this place was way too pricey for the experience and the food. That 50% deal they were running should be the actual prices. We were very excited to try this place because all of the locals we spoke to had hyped it up so much, however we just didn't understand the hype. read more

AYYEEE would you wobble wobble!! And that is exactly what I did!! Although it is advertised as a steakhouse, this review is strictly for the nightclub portion. I didn't consume any food while here. While on a ski trip, I was advised "make sure you all visit the Wobbly Barn later, it's a must". Gotcha!! After a long day of skiing, I was exhausted but I had to go to the Wobbly!! The barn is located on Killington Road along a strip with other nightclubs and bars. It was very chilly out and once inside the attendant did a coat check. The dance floor was packed!! Most of the partygoers appeared to be college students having a good time, but nonetheless there were other age groups hanging out. There was a live band playing all the songs from the 90's on up. You name it, they played it!! I danced and jooked until I was tired! The crowd was live and in full effect and I could barely keep up with the youngins. The bartender was a bit short, but the drinks were good. I then decided to try some "Bulleit" which is a bourbon whiskey and OMG I should have left that alone!! It was good but I think it put hair on my chest!! I think it would pair with a good cigar! However, if you visit VT this is a must go to joint especially on a Saturday night. read more

We ate here last night after a long day of skiing. I would like to start with the staff... they were fantastic, attentive and very friendly. We never went a minute with a partially empty glass or a question unanswered. If this review was solely on them I would give 5 stars. They all deserve to be in a far better restaurant. My son had the lobster Mac and cheese... there was ample lobster, but the Mac and cheese portion could be better described as a bowl of curdled milk with crumbs on it. The "world famous" salad bar was barely worth $8 let alone the $20 they charge for it. Hardly even locally famous... The bone in New York strip was more than 30% wasted material... I expect the bone to be a bit of the finish weight... but this was in no way a good cut of meat. It was cooked as ordered, so this was no fault of the chef... more just what he was given to work with. The prices would have let you believe you were in a 5 star restaurant in a far larger city... they definitely like to prey on the tourists that are coming here with more money to spend than they should. As far as the restaurant is concerned, it's a steakhouse in a state with more vegans per capita than Lilith Fair; temper expectations accordingly. (The salad bar is good though.) If I could give this negative stars I would. The only good thing at the Wobbly is the salad bar, which they still have the gall to charge 15 dollars for! This is Killington VT people, not NY city. The prices only get worse from there, like 35 dollars steaks and 25 dollar chicken breast. They dont post their prices on their site, so you have to wait till you get there to see how astronomical the prices are. Once you convince yourself that you will pay 35 dollars for a steak in middle of nowhere VT, you will be shocked to find that you could get a steak of this quality at the local Sizzler. Truly an embarrassment. The server suggested that we get the garlic mashed potatoes for the starch, upon seeing them you may think they came from a box, upon tasting them you know they are. The absolute gem of the evening had to be that we dragged our two vegetarian friends there. (I know, dont ask.) They decided they would have the only vegetarian choice on the menu. The description is impeccable, and you might think you are getting a gorgeous risotto type meal with fresh local veggies. What you actually get looks more like oatmeal with cream poured on top and not mixed in. Our friends each had a bite and could not suffer any further. When we told our server that they were unhappy with the food, he walked away!! Thats right folks, he WALKED AWAY! Its not that we expected him to move heaven and earth for us, but a simple 'May I offer you something else?' may have sufficed. We decided to eat at Wobbly Barn solely because of the free shuttle they offer. We wanted to go out to eat and drink without driving so that was perfect. The reviews were mixed so I wasn't sure what we were in for and it ended up being an average meal. The place is huge and we were seated in a tight booth for the six of us. The lighting was pretty dim, I had a hard time reading the menu but it wasn't a big deal. The waitress was really nice and helpful. I ended up splitting a meal of steak, crab legs and creamy spinach. I could have done without the crab legs, they were overcooked. The steak and spinach were very tasty though. I think it's great that with your meal they give you vouchers to go upstairs which is usually $20 cover I heard. The bar upstairs was a young crowd with decent music and became more fun as I got more drunk. Pricey? Yes but the shuttle, coat check and vouchers made up for it. read more

I had no business whatsoever tackling the Vertigo run at Killington --- I'm an average skier / disastrous boarder --- but ego got the better of me. New challenges, you know? What's life without 'em? So... basically, I slid down a mile's worth of mountain on my ass. Boy, does that ever work up an appetite! Enter my savior: the Wobbly Barn. My girlfriend wasn't wild about the place (the food, specifically), but she's a better skier than I am, which means she was less tired and less hungry. Also, the WB is pretty hyped in these parts, so she didn't feel it lived up to the rep. Me? After a day on the slopes? Just serve up the BBQ Ribs & Chicken Combo and a brew (with some chocolate cake for dessert) and I'm set. The Barn delivered big-time. Don't be a knucklehead --- stop by. One of the best steakhouses I have ever been to. I came two days in a row. I got the porterhouse on the first day, and a surf and turf with NY strip the second day. Both steaks were excellent. Perfect, in fact. The ambience is great. It's a giant wood structure, like a barn. There's a lively bar upstairs that had an awesome bluegrass band playing. There's meat downstairs. This one place functions both as a very exciting bar and a very tasty steakhouse. There's a fascinating item on the menu: the beast. (If I recall correctly). It was a 3lb lobster, a large porterhouse, and one-hour one-on-one lesson on the ski slopes. The lesson itself was a $119 value, but the whole thing was $105. I didn't order this item. Everyone in Vermont is so damn fit, so damn grateful, and so damn positive. It's like Vermont is the best America has to offer. read more

Every time my boyfriend and I visit Killington to snowboard we always come to Wobbly Barn for dinner, actually this is almost like a tradition for us. The food is great, and although the salad bar is no longer free ($7pp), you can take numerous trip to it and share your soup & salad with everyone at the table. Last night I got the beef tenderloin Oscar with crab meat, asparagus and mashed it was delish! Bf got the ribeye and loved it as well. This place never disappointed us before. Oh the Wobbly Barn. I feel this place needs two separate reviews. Vibe -wise, its a great spot to come after a day of skiing. The staff are friendly, the live music is great, and the drinks are abundant. Free coat check, 3 floors, its a great spot. Food-wise, the restaurant isn't amazing and is kind of pricey for what it is. The desserts are terrible, avoid at all costs. The steaks are nice, but they take 'rare' seriously, so best to go with a medium option if in doubt. They also are terrible at estimating wait times, they told us 1.5 hrs, but we were seated in 30 mins. I don't have much to compare it to in Killington, as this was the only place we went. But I did enjoy my stay. I averaged this out to 4 stars. But its not anything special, its just good for the area. read more

When Duad gave us the bill we saw that the chicken wings appetizer was on there at full price. When we pointed that out to Duad he said that it is only free before 6pm. When in Killington VT you have to get to the Wobbly Barn on a Saturday night. They have a live band that plays cover songs. I think it's a different band every weekend. Then of course a DJ, who plays rap and top 40. Its kind of a place where people of all ages can go, but if you're over 30 it brings you back to your late teens early 20's. That's just my opinion!!! OHHH and the drinks are CHEAP, compared to what we pay in Boston!!! I think I got like 8 shots for 20bucks...now that's a deal. And don't worry you won't feel any pain the next day on the slopes!!!!! This place is amazing . Second year in Killington but first time we ventured from the resort to have dinner and so glad we did . Killington advertised The Wobbly Barn so we decided to check it out . Very close but not walking distance . We drove but you can take a shuttle as well which is so convenient especially if your hitting the bar . The atmosphere and décor is really cool . The salad / bread bar is a must hit !! I prob could have just eaten that but my entrée a chicken pasta vegetable dish was awesome and filling but not too heavy . Great portion that calls for taking leftovers . Then the desert - lavender vanilla crème brulee with chamomile whipped cream ! wish I didn't live 6 hours away so I could eat that all the time but hey once a year will have to do . read more

The wobbly barn has a great rustic feel, and the bar upstairs is very fun. That being said, the restaurant is extremely overpriced and the food is just so-so. For a self-proclaimed steakhouse, i at least thought the steak would be good. But alas, it wasn't seasoned well and was honestly bland. It's pretty discouraging to pay $50 for a bland steak. The sides were the same -- the broccoli gratin was weird, and chocolate lava cake similarly underwhelming. I would pass on the restaurant, go to the live music at the bar. read more

I've been coming to Killington for a few years but for some reason I've never eaten at the Wobbly Barn, just been to the night club on one occasion. So last week decided to check it out. The service was excellent, the steak was great. I have always thought of salads as something to be given to a pet rabbit but I must admit the wobbly salad bar was good and more interesting than boring old green leaves. So would I go again? Yes. Always a good spot if you are up in Killington for a piece of meat. Be ready to pay (it is a steakhouse) but the quality of the meat was great. We had a great time here on New Year's Eve and the band was very good, despite the $70 cover being overpriced. However when the bar closed we were immediately told that we couldn't wait in the entryway, which isn't even inside the bar. All the dozens of people left who had just called ubers or were expecting a shuttle were screamed at to leave even though they were just waiting calmly while the staff was furious and hysterical. It was about 20 degrees, very windy, and sleeting out. Within a couple minutes after closing, staff physically pushed us down the steps, despite people not wearing jackets or closed toed shoes. In explanation, staff were screaming that it was a "fire hazard". They need to do better for people what were charged $70 for their event. They should have had a plan for this predictable situation. The solution to a potential "fire hazard" can't be forcibly removing a bunch of people, mostly from out of town/state and who don't know how the shuttles work, into wet and freezing cold conditions which I would argue posed much more of an immediate risk that a fire spontaneously starting in the bar. read more

Our group of 3 endured a 2-hour wait on the Saturday night of MLK weekend. We ended up paying ~35 dollars each for a steak (one of the cheapest entries on the menu). If your looking for a good time in killington this is about as close as you can get to it. I showe up on the Monday after Xmas b4 new years with one of my boys hopin to find some females. Not happening. Killington is loaded up with groups of dudes and guys with their girlfriends. The 10 dollar cover sucked but at least they had free coat check. The band was actually very good too. Just not a great place to go tower girls but I supposse nothing is up here so you might as well bring ur own. Drinks were expensive. The draft beer they had on tap was 6.50 a glass. Pretty expensive after paying 10 for cover. But I guess that is the Vermont way. Try to soak the out of state ppl for every penny they can. Next time I come to Vermont I will go to Stratton. The skiing is much better and there is close to no nightlife up here to make It worth coming here. Not that there is at Stratton, but the mountain is much nicer and not as crowded. read more

We had dinner here when we were staying at Killington recently. It was an inauspicious start with one child bursting into tears when we arrived due to pain in his legs from skiing. Our waiter quickly brought some juice and coloring which made him feel better and kept him distracted. The food was great- I loved the salad bar add on and both adults took advantage of that. My lobster tail was great and my husband really enjoyed his meal too. It is quite expensive but really nice for a special night out! Great service too. Fortunately, the downstairs bartender was able to round up a baked potato after the kitchen had closed for the evening, which we split between 3 people. So while we didn't sample an array of the food offerings, that potato was the best damn baked potato the three of us had ever eaten. Or maybe we were just under the influence. All I can say is make reservations or be prepared to wait over 2 hours for a table. I would never pay the cover here. It's not the same as the upscale steakhouses, but if you want a good meal in what should be a cowboy bar, this is the place to go. If you stop at the bar at Killington mountain lodge, make friends with the bartenders. They always have free passes, which let you get by on the cover charge. The food was good, but not good enough for the prices the Wobbly charges. $35 for a 7 oz filet in a restaurant that has sawdust as a floor accent is a little outrageous. Granted, the entrees do come with an unlimited salad bar (priced at $15 alone), the price for meat was a little high for me. The quality of the food was good, but nothing to write home about. The best thing about the Wobbly (and Outback Pizza, Pickles, and others) is that it has a free shuttle up and down the access road. read more

On my last snowy evening In Killington, I had dinner at the Wobbly Barn. It reminds me of a rustic steakhouse I ate at once upon a time, many boyfriends ago. The salad bar was good, although a classic vinaigrette/ Italian dressing would have been welcome. The bread was good and had a slight sourdough air (starter perhaps?), and the soup was good. Both my friend and I had the pasta primavera and it was excellent. The noodles were fresh and the veggies just the right crispness. The sauce was very good and there was just a little too much, so you could dip some of that fresh bread in it. The service was kind and attentive.
