Welcoming place. Bartender and waitress were more than busy but very friendly. Wide variety of drinks. We were too late for the 32oz. buckets. Pretty large selection of beers too! As for the food, not a single complaint. Walleye fingers were not your typical Sysco fried items. They were really good. We had a party of 7 so we pretty much tried alittle of everything. Burgers, wraps, salads and other things. We were there for taco night and we like to call it "White people taco night". Wife loved them! Highly recommend Overall, great night. Burnt chicken tenders, burnt fried pickles, well done burger (supposed to be medium), walk past the kitchen on our way out, cook has his feet up on the frier playing on his phone. Thankfully the waitress who's been there for a very long time, was pleasant. Think it'll be a while before we try this out again. When I drop $100.00 for a meal, I expect a little more than that. My wife and I stayed at the great northern motel for the weekend during a wedding. This is great! We order the chicken wings in the sweet chili. Also I had a Ruben sandwich. Their fries are also very good. Definitely recommend if you in the mood for some yummy comfort foot. Flavors were spot on as well. read more

Stayed in the hotel,and tried to eat 3 meals here.1st was breakfast. Polish sausage & eggs. After waiting close to an hour,before they figured out that my order didn't go through, I got 2 unappetizing pieces of sausage. Boiled?steamed?!? No browning on it at all. Next morning,got bacon and eggs w/hash browns. Came out quickly,but bacon was under done.Not crisp as ordered. Whatever! That night I ordered 2 pan fried walleye dinners to go. After waiting close to an hour AGAIN, I turned to look into the kitchen,and saw the chef use 2 fingers to tear open something wrapped in plastic that I assumed was walleye.As it steamed,He put it into a to go box and stacked it on top of another that was there.If that was supposed to be "pan fried", I'm glad I got up a walked out without paying for the beers I drank while waiting! read more

Joined our family for lunch here over the holiday. I accidentally read the steak sandwich as steak sandwich which is shredded beef. Once it arrived boy was I surprised. I sent it back as it was pink and bloody. It returned and I picked at it and later shared with my family that it was terrible quality and a meat that I would feed our beloved dog. I paid for the onion rings and received five (not sure that was worth it). Our daughters chili tasted burnt and out of a can (what a bummer, great opportunity to have amazing chili in town). My partners wings, were nothing to brag about With many places in town that have "bar" food not sure this will be one that we return to. read more

Stopped in for a drink for my birthday and was disgusted by the amount of people walking around heavily intoxicated with no shoes on. I was informed that the owner was one that had no shoes on in the men's bathroom and the floor was covered in urine. The owner pressured his patrons to drink alcohol out of his softball trophy during the Covid 19 pandemic and if you refused he yelled at you and you called you derogatory names. The owner wife as we were told was belligerent and also verbally accosted my friend as well. I would avoid this as a stop. read more

I live in MN (dont judge me) and when im in town, I always eat and drink here. $10, 12oz Ribeye Tuesday is the bomb! Great food, great booze pours....what more you need!?! I think the staff is always on point. Haven't had a bad experience yet. read more

Restaurant is inside of local hotel, right on lake. They were able to reserve a table for our party of 7. Friday night fish fry was great. Fried shrimp basket was fantastic. Not overly breaded and large, fresh shrimp! Tasty meal, definitely recommend! read more

The best view in town! Great selection of appetizers. I love the crab cakes. The menu literally has something for everyone. Homemade soups, really good pizzas. Eric, Erika and Madde are great people and hard workers. It may not beautiful from the outside but we just drove by and it looks as if they may be changing the color to green. I'm giving a five star review based on their pan fried walleye. Probably the best I've ever had. I get to MN and SD where walleye is prevalent and this tops them all. The atmosphere is up north bar inside a hotel. Know where you are going. This is not a table cloth and linen place. The prime rib on Saturdays is pretty good and the prices are decent. We have been coming to This Area for over 30 Years. We frequently Visit the Wolf's Den Whether it be for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner or just drinks. IT's a Great Location for Snowmobilers Last week when we were there with a Bunch of People we found the Bartenders to be very rude and arrogant like we were doing them a favor by being there. We ordered food to eat at the Bar. When the food came out it was in to-go containers. The order was'nt complete though when we confronted the Bartender about the rest of the order her response was Well we only have 1 Deep Fryer it will be out when its ready. The other Bartender Jillian also told our group that the other Bartender heard someone in our group say something Unappropriate to the Other Bartender She said to the group you have 2 Choices Either tell me who said it and he can leave or you guys can just pay your bill and you all can leave. With this the entire group left. We feel that she was out of line saying this If the Bartender did not an attitude when we got there everything would have been fine. These 2 really need a course in Customer Service. And attitude adjustment. IT's a Great place food is good But me and my Group of 14 Will never be back there read more

Mozzarella sticks and jalapeño poppers were very good. Parmesan wings had what seemed to be homemade sauce which hubby enjoyed. Patty melt was also delicious. Service was typical for a bar that serves food. Stayed at the motel and came back the next night bartender was much better second night. read more

Nice but overlooked spot in Mercer. Pretty lake view and a large menu. Lots of tvs to watch a game. We had the artichoke dip which was tasty and served with warm tortilla chips. Salads were nicely done for the Northwoods - romaine, mushrooms, tomato and garlic croutons. Dinners also a pleasant surprise - bacon wrapped pork and crab cake BLT were both delicious.
