Six in our family had dinner at The Flame July 10. The hostess was very friendly & helpful. Our waiter, Diamond, was also very friendly. Our drinks were good and served promptly. One of us ordered a pizza, which was served rather quickly and was very tasty. One of us ordered chicken wings. Another person ordered a hamburger. Four of us ordered fish--three cod dinners and one walleye dinner. There was a delay of more than 40 minutes between when the pizza, hamburger, and wings were served and when the fish arrived. However, only three of the four fish dinners were served. The waiter informed us that there were only two cod dinners available, so two of us split one of those dinners. Fry bread was supposed to be served with all the fish dinners, but only one of the three fish dinners included fry bread. When we all finished our dinners and were ready to leave, the waiter brought the third cod dinner, after we had been told no more cod was available. I refused to pay for that last cod dinner, which the hostess agreed to. The Flame is an excellent facility in a very nice location. It's too bad that The operators have serious problems with inventory and communication. read more

we ordered a extra large pizza. we asked for all green pepper all mushrooms and half sausage. we opened the box and couldn't tell witch Hal was sausage there had to possibly all of 4 pieces of sausage. the green pepper and mushrooms were just a scarest. Over all very disappointed. Don't know if we will order another pizza. Very disappointed. We don't recommend the Flame restaurant!! read more

Chicken wings were by far the best thing on the menu, but black bear takes the cake with their sauces the flames could be just as good with home made specialty sauces for them, but everything else was really good including the drinks, pizza could be a bit more fresh seems like it's frozen before hand and put in the over but non the less not bad. I would say being to the new flame and the old multiple times, the service and food is much better now and we'll worth going. I was very worried about the prices because the old flame seemed to charge way to much for drinks, their buckets were 19.99 and there rail drinks were about 10 to 12, and now the rail is 5 and buckets are 12 so amazing job getting the prices back to where they should be. Only reason for 4 stars is that the pizza was just ok and the inside is way to modernesk for a resturant on the lake, outside looks great though. Mon-wed. They are closed due to staffing at moment. read more

We came based on the reviews for good pizza since we were just passing through. The place seems to be struggling and needs some obvious work. We weren't even sure it was open to be honest with the big for sale side. We got the supreme pizza and it was just ok. Came in 5:30 ordered four meals, at 7:25 our meals were served. Food was good but service very, very slow, need help.

But the location on the lake is nice!!!! We had 5 in our group and all of us left with the same opinion. The food portions we had were small and they were really expensive and overpriced for what you get. The waitstaff was slow but maybe there was only one person working. The place was almost empty and the person was a bit rude, when we asked after a lot of time for our orders. It was also difficult just to get more beers. It is/was an all cash business so make certain you have plenty of cash on you, or just choose to go somewhere else where you get more for your money and better service than we did. The ribs we ordered had no taste and were supposedly smoked but there was no smoke flavor in my ribs. Just moist bland tasteless ribs at a ridicules price. With all the choices in the north woods for a fish fry, don't even waste your time considering this place. Not enough help led to our party waiting over an hour and a half to get our fish fry. After our server took our first drink order, she never came back to ask if any of us needed refills. We had to get up and get our own silverware, napkins and drinks. A group of 5 of us were in town for the king of the cage fights on 10-17-15 and looking for something to do out on the town after the fights ended. Heard there was a live DJ at the Flame so we went to check the place out. We ended up having a blast and staying until close. The dance floor was packed all night!!! The drinks were great!!! Service was a bit slow with only 3 bartenders on staff but that was because the place was packed. Well worth the extra couple mins it took for drinks and the bartenders were very helpful. We will definitely be stopping in again when we go back for the next fight night on april 23 2016. Hopefully the same live DJ will be rocking the place again. He made it a fun birthday night for my girlfriend. Thanks "Flame" for making it such a great night. read more

We went for their Friday night fish fry, what a nightmare! First off, it's a bar, which isn't a bad thing, except I felt that was their first priority. We waited for our table for 8 for about 1/2 hr (all the while watching other patrons just seat themselves). Then we waited 1 hr for our food. We got our own silverware and refills of drinks, our waitress was too busy stuffing her face with food and socializing at the bar. The cook who we so lovenly referred to as "Cornrow Bob in the hoodie" was also eating fries off the plates. The food was mediocre at best. We saw their ad in the local paper and figured they blew their budget on advertising instead of servers. It is a great place to people watch if totally wasted people is your thing. Food wise pass, but if adventure and living on the edge are your thing go. All I know is this trip is going in my book. read more

Having a yelp account does not make you an expert ... waiting 30 minutes to 1 hr is standard at any restaurant on a Friday night in the summer...that's just the way it is...you're not going to find a better pizza or larger menu anywhere else in the area! Complaining about prices is also invalid...especially for the area...the prices for the pizzas are normal for a supper club...there is a dominos a town over if you're looking for less quality and cheaper prices...even if you are dining on a budget, the menu has such a large variety of choices in all price ranges. If you did have a less than wonderful experience I sugges giving this place another try...it's worth it! read more

We were staying in Lac du Flambeau for the first time ever on Aug.3,2017, the owner of the cabin we rented from said the Flame was very good! He could'nt have been more right! The service was wonderful and the pizza was just as excellent as the pizza I always had when we lived in Illinois! We will definitely be returning on our next trip up north! Every year we come to the Flame while on vacation in Lac du Flambeau. It just would be a vacation without ordering the best food in the Northwoods that is only found at the FLAME! Wonderful "Indian Tacos" and the pizza is fantastic! The view of such a lovely lake is also one-of-a-kind. Make sure you order some smoke fish and fish dip too because you'll never find anything like it! It is slow-smoked with the recipe and technique handed down from many generations.
