Hector, deserves less than a zero star rating. I had nothing but issues with this guy from the start. With plenty of messages to back up what I am stating here. I had to threaten to take him to court to redo a lot of subpar work - pure incompetence. His measurements were off, tons of flaws in his work, grinding marks, welding coming apart, he used the wrong bolts to mount the iron rails I ordered. Even after going back and forth his product/work was and is still crap! I had another professional come and repair the work Wolf's was unable to do. The attached photos show the imperfection by the Wolf's iron shop. Look at the concrete bolts he used. Worse yet, the bolts he used failed to screw completely in the wall. Way too many imperfection across the board . Just complete crap. I hired another welding company to fix all of the Wolfes mistakes. Stay away from this company. read more

Hector was hired to build a metal staircase for our house. The design was wrong and had to be uninstalled, fixed, then reinstalled. Once in place, there were several of the steps that were spaced incorrectly and/or not plumb, not level. When pressed on this, Hector admitted he had not built the staircase but had hired someone else to do it. The quality was not acceptable and we removed the staircase and asked Hector to refund our purchase. He never did and does not respond to us any longer. read more

Artistic: (5 STARS) Hector's craft is material art, and it shows. Before any fabrication is started and any estimate is signed, a hand-drawn rendering was made of what the finished product should look like. There were a few detailed adjustments to the drawing until we were satisfied with the design concept and signed the work order agreement. The finished physical work is far more beautiful than the hand-drawn draft! Quality/Experience: (4.5 STARS) Originally we wanted galvanized steel for our gates and fence because we wanted them to last forever and not succumb to rusting. Wolf's Iron Shop did some cost comparisons between galvanized steel and stainless steel materials. Based on the scope of our project, the cost comes out to be about the same. Under advice from Wolf's Iron Shop, we chose stainless steel for our project. Wolf's Iron Shop retooled to have the appropriate welding materials throughout to have a finished product that is rust-free. All the weld joins were sealed to keep moisture out. The fence panels were evenly divided with the floral scrolls appropriately placed for a visually balanced and pleasing look. The the spears were aligned and levelled. Note on the arched gate with spears that the spear stems had to be carefully cut differently to create a pleasant, even arch with the top band. An inexperienced person may make the spears look uneven and too short or too tall. Wolf's made the spear's height perfectly proportional to the arch of the gate. The finishing paint work was complete, and the paint finish is durable. A final walkthrough was made before final signoff. The fence and 2 gates are solid. Half a star was deducted because there were some paint overspray on our walkway. Technical: (5 STARS) 30'x5' iron fence. 2 8'x5' double arched gate. Wolf's did a great job with measuring the fence dimensions and arches. The the posts were anchored with 2' deep cement. The fence panels are even and balanced. One of the side gate received special 3D cross bracing and heavy duty anchoring so that it is a free-standing structure w/o need to be touching any other structure. The arches of the gates were the most complex part of the work because they required perfect span and alignment with the existing structure. Wolf's knows how to use the welder and the correct welding materials for stainless steel welding. Weld joints are clean and solid. Wolf's was intelligent to point out that the placement of the gates and their direction of opening needed to be carefully thought out to prevent door binding or obstruction. End result is two very heavy gates that are easily accessible with excellent, smooth opening and solid closing. Schedule/Availability: (5 STARS) Wolf's is a small, mostly one-man operation. That means that it's difficult to do parallel jobs simultaneously. I can imagine that all jobs should be completely finished before moving on to the next job. But then part of the job is to estimate schedules for future work that may or may not happen. Also ordering materials for the current job can be challenging especially if the build is exotic. This was our case. Any interrupts to the work flow like illness or lack of materials will impact the current schedule as well as future jobs. And during COVID-19, one would be lucky to have anyone available to help with such project. We experienced all of these challenges on our project and accept the reasonable impacts that they cause to the work schedule. Yet Wolf's remained committed to finishing an excellent job and was responsive throughout the job despite lots of challenges. Look around you - do you see the government, corporations or public schools doing any better? We have to keep everything in reasonable perspective and believe Wolf's did a good job in keeping their overall commitments. My advice to Wolf's is to factor in other tasks when scheduling so that deadlines are comfortable. Cost: (5 STARS) Pricing very reasonable. We had other bids that came in within reasonable price ranges. Originally we planned to go with another outfit but was weary about schedule/availability (out 3-6months). Wolf's was local and was able to provide tentative schedule, so we chose them. read more

We contracted with Wolf's Iron Shop to install approx 150 ft of ornamental wrought iron fencing across the back of our property. Jose and his father listened to our ideas and within 2 weeks provided us with drawings, photo options and fabricated samples - they worked hard to make sure they were going to fabricate exactly what we wanted. After deciding on a style, Wolf fabricated and installed our fence. This was not an easy job as the fence is on a creek bank, so lots of curves and elevation adjustments. The design and installation was meticulous and well engineered, a piece of art that is now a decorative piece of our yard. The quality of the finished product is superb. Please keep in mind that this is a custom-made product, not something you find in a big box store. So, fabrication and installation is more time consuming. However, the finished product is top quality and will last several years. Everyone who sees our fence comments on how beautiful it is. Jose has also been great about checking in and helping with maintenance of our fence. read more
