Sid, the owner, went above and beyond to ensure a memorable night. He even gave us a ride on the oldest continuously operated elevator in Vermont! While it is a historic hotel, it's not without modern amenities and comfortable rooms. The room was warm and inviting. It needed a little updating and the doors don't close too well, but you'd expect that in a hotel from the late 1800s! Although we were only there overnight, I can see its potential for all year round stays, and even has the space and amenities for weddings. I will definitely consider the Historic Brandon Inn should the need arise in the future!

My boyfriend and I are in our late 20's and wanted to stay somewhere a little more modern than what other B&Bs have to offer. The common areas are full of books, magazines, games, a computer, a television, a fireplace and comfy couches and chairs. Fresh baked YUMMY goods were put out in the afternoon. There is also tea, coffee and evening port available as well! We stayed in the River Room... which had a very comfy bed, a beautiful bathroom with bathtub and shower. in the bathroom there was bubble bath soap, lotions, organic hand wash, a blow drier, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The bathtub even had a tray you can use to read your book while relaxing. The breakfast was amazing. Everything was fresh and delicious and perfect-size portions. I had the best piece of toast I've ever had. I didn't think toast coult be so delicious...! Outside the window there were bird feeders that attracted all kinds of birds and even chipmunks. Across the street is a Mad River trail along the river which is quite scenic. All and all, we had great time and enjoyed the stay. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Our room included a private, detached bathroom a few doors down the hall, but the provided bathrobes and intimate feel of the home (including the fact that there are only a few guest rooms on the first floor) made the detached bathroom adequately comfortable. The common areas were very comfortable, and we felt welcome to use them. Sometimes at B&B's you feel like you're in someone's living room, but this felt like usable guest space. We enjoyed the tea from Vermont Liberty Tea Co., and were especially excited to arrive back at the B&B late one evening to a platter of brownies in the dining room! (Linda was kind enough to share the recipe, though after seeing how much butter was called for - no wonder they were so good!! - I never attempted baking them myself). Coffee on the large porch in the morning overlooking fields and a large lawn dotted with adirondack chairs provided a welcome escape from city life. Luke and Linda were very friendly and fun, eager to offer recommendations but also not intrusive. Breakfast was delicious, and Linda was patient with my friend's several special requests. The dining room included a large, long table, but also a couple of smaller tables for 2 for those who prefer more intimacy. I definitely intend to return!

Throughout the wedding planning process, she could not have been more helpful, or made us feel more assured or excited about our wedding day. Any challenge we encountered in the process (none with her), she helped us sort out instantly, and her creativity knows no bounds. She is always fair and client-centered in her decision making, never pushy, and always personable. And her attention to details is astounding; for instance, when we first met and were talking flowers, I told her casually that I wanted to get tulips for the ceremony to honor a loved one who had passed. Months later, unprompted, she told me that she saw tulips at the grocery store during the month we were going to be married, to let me know they were seasonal. Planning a wedding is tough, but not when you have Jordan on your team; I can't stress enough how important having such an experienced venue owner/wedding coordinator all rolled into one has been for us, because unexpected things (COVID!), do happen along the way. She also knows everyone in the biz, and will give you the honest inside scoop. Coming from 2 hostels on this side of the US with more influx of guests, I was confused by why there were no signs on how to enter for check-in or a reminder of lobby hours. There was nothing in front saying guests should go to the back to enter but yet there are steps leading to a front door that I later found out is always locked. No instructions on how to locate the lobby in the email either. I stayed in a 8-bed dorm room above the restaurant and check-in office. The room faces the road so you'll hear road noise since the one window is left open for the portable air conditioner. There was another dorm room right behind. Light sleepers will need an earplug. The bathroom was very clean, colorful, and had modern, cute features. Other things to note: - Not sure there is a shuttle (common with other hostels in the region) - Not sure there are lockers - There are bedside lights by every bed and power outlets are on the bottom bunks only. - The dorm room had a ceiling fan and portable air conditioner - There was Body wash in the shower but no shampoo or conditioner. - There are 2 or 3 toilets and 1 shower upstairs in that building. - The kitchen fridge is cute but small in size for the number of beds. - There are 2 living/sitting rooms - There are some board games available - There is a restaurant on-site. - A brew of coffee is made every morning. - There was no stove to cook
