Bacon, avocado, turkey, and kale sandwich with their unsweetened iced tea (fresh brewed and really good).

Two things that will get me to try someplace are recommendations by a friend or family member, or a coupon. In this case, I had both, so double the incentive. I really like this place, both for the food and drink offered, and for its convenience locally to me. It has most of the types of items I would want for breakfast or lunch, the ingredients are fresh, and they're made to order. I enjoy their coffees and teas. I also appreciate that you can buy bagels here in bags of 6, and those bagels are better quality than, and priced competitively with, local bagel establishments (one of which I gave a significantly lower star rating to just yesterday). There's plenty of space inside and outside to enjoy your meal if you don't get it to go. I needed a couple of nudges to come here the first time, that won't be the case from now on.

The Works is basically New England's Panera Bread, or what Panera Bread used to be before JAB bought it. They provide healthy breakfast and lunch options. Dinner too if you want sandwiches or salad. If you are in the mood for something basic and healthy then this is a good option. Alot of the key ingredients are locally sourced. Cheese from Vermont, of course. Eggs from New Hampshire and etc. Food is very good, simple and healthy. Portion size is bigger than Panera. Staffs are nice and they constantly clean the restaurant. I was there for 4 hours doing some work, and staff clean the same area twice. Plenty of seatings so I didn't feel too guilty sitting there for so long.

Honey Bear Smoothie- or half of it ;)

Can't complain about a free smoothie! Received coupons in the mail and before they expire, I'll be using the free sandwich and free breakfast, but today was all about the smoothie! Honey Bear, and I do mean you Smoothie, is amazing. Not too sweet, very banana-y...a good thing, and feeling healthy from that wheat germ! Friendly service, clean environment, hope this place does well- and keep the coupons flowing!

Admittedly I'm a bit delayed in writing this review so some of what I tried was seasonal dependent as I got a hot apple cider for a drink. To eat, I got a crepe and side of sausage! Just a few short minutes later, the food was ready to go. Everything was really delicious. The sausage provided a perfect savory balance for the sweet crepe that I got. The restaurant was really spacious and had lots of natural light which provided a lovely ambiance. Despite growing up in upstate NY, getting to sit at Skinny Pancake felt like a nice, peaceful perspective I hadn't received before. The food being delicious was the cherry on top. I highly recommend!

It wasn't busy so we were able to go right in and be seated. The server gave us a warm greeting as we entered and asked if we had been there before. She explained the online ordering or that we could walk up to the counter and place our order. The brewed drip coffee is bottomless and self service. They offer lattes and and espresso drinks as well. We placed our order and the server delivered it to our table. We tried "The Vegan" which is a buckwheat batter crepe stuffed with seitan, vegan pesto, vegan cheese, spinach, roasted squash, and caramelized onions. We shared an order of crispy and perfectly seasoned homefries. I ordered a sweet crepe from the special menu which was a buckwheat crepe filled with a blueberry compote, semisweet chocolate morsels, and toasted coconut with candied pecans. It was so rich but so good. We loved the atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the numerous plant-based options and ability to convert several menu items into vegan dishes. We will definitely be back and since we have told so many friends about our experience, will will not be coming back alone!

Umana Yana - Washington Ave, Albany, NY If you're looking to…read morestep outside of the ordinary and experience bold flavors in a welcoming atmosphere, Umana Yana is a must-visit. This was my second time here--my first visit was dining in with friends, and this time I ordered takeout. Both experiences were consistently impressive. Known for its Ethiopian dishes and outstanding vegan cuisine, Umana Yana brings African culture to life through its vibrant décor, flavorful food, and thoughtfully crafted drinks. Every detail reflects passion and authenticity. It's no surprise that actress Tabitha Brown made a stop in Albany to experience the restaurant's highly praised vegan offerings. That's a testament to the reputation they've built. For my meal, I ordered the jerk lamb lollipops, jollof rice, and slaw. The lamb was tender, juicy, and packed with just the right amount of jerk seasoning. The jollof rice was rich, well-seasoned, and full of flavor, while the slaw added a fresh, crisp balance to the meal. On my previous visit, I tried the wings and waffles, and they were equally delicious. Two visits, two different meals, and not a single disappointment. Whether you're a longtime fan of African cuisine or looking to try something new, Umana Yana offers an experience that's just as memorable as the food itself. If you don't know, now you know. Add Umana Yana to your list--you won't regret it!

Umana Yana is named after a Guyana location but much of the fare is African. In addition to scouring photos I even looked on DoorDash for popular items. The jerk lamb lollipops and red curry fish tacos were excellent. Umana Yana is an expert in spice and sauce, and also has a knack for combining fire and sweetness. The lamb has plenty of built-in flavor but was also adorned with a topping vaguely in the pico de gallo paradigm along with pineapple, and there's a green sauce on the side.
