Doordashed the Nali Lamb Shank Rogan Josh. This was not my favorite, The Rogan Josh sauce was fine, good flavor but the sauce was a lot thinner than the other Rogan joshed I've had. The Lamb Shank was very gamey, and not tender/juicy. Did not enjoy

Our wine sitting at the bar for 15 minutes, eventually we got up and got it ourselves.

We've dined at Yellow Chilli twice now. The first visit was about five months ago, and while the food was flavorful and delicious, the service left a lot to be desired. So we decided we wouldn't be back. Fast forward to today: we were craving Indian food and gave Yellow Chilli another chance. The ambiance and environment are really inviting especially great for a date night, and the quiet, comfortable vibe was a big plus as the place wasn't even half full when we arrived. The food on this visit was just as tasty as we remembered: butter chicken, prawns, potato curry, naan, and vegetable biriyani all delivered with good flavor and proper spice balance. However, the service still fell short in several moments. It stood out that, despite the restaurant not being busy, we and other tables had delays and a lack of attentiveness. For instance, our wine sat at the bar for about 15 minutes before we took matters into our own hands and brought it from the bar to our table ourselves, since our server didn't seem to be paying attention. We also noticed a few other tables had similar lapses like plates not being cleared and the next course not arriving promptly, even though staff seemed nearby. As the night progressed the quality of service became more apparent whereas it stayed to get more and more crowded. It felt like there's a gap in how the team is coached on guest service during the evening rush. I did read some reviews noting concerns about service and even attributing it to bias. I didn't want to go there in my mind, but I did notice a sense of uneven attention across tables, which was hard to miss. It's not something I want to assume about the staff, and I'm hopeful the team will address it with some coaching or process tweaks. The kitchen is clearly capable and the food remains enjoyable and well made, but the service experience didn't elevate the meal this time. Bottom line: the food is consistently good and flavorful, the ambiance is a big win for date night, and I'm rooting for Yellow Chilli to address the service gaps so the overall experience matches the quality in the kitchen. If you're coming for the food, you'll likely be pleased; if you're sensitive to service tempo, this might feel frustrating. We may give it one more try in the future, hoping for more consistent, attentive service to match the dishes we enjoy.

The food was good. I wish they are able to cater to food tolerances and accommodate those as well. I am lactose intolerant and only had daal as options in veg curries. Ambiance is nice. The place smells good.

the yellow chili need their indoor view and ambiance to be highlighted: it's very clean, hygienic and welcoming for the customers my experience here was great: i ordered samosa chaat, which is like an indian street food snack, layered with deliciousness and flavors! thx yellow chili

Had an excellent dinner at the yellow chilli today, we thoroughly enjoyed the various naans and masalas that they have; the butter chicken was excellent in particular, as well as their drinks. The atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxing and not loud, which was a big plus. One standout experience from the whole night was the excellent service that the staff provided--especially from Ajit. They were very helpful in guiding us through the menu and making sure our dinner went well. The staff was very friendly as well and attentive to all of our needs, and they truly went above and beyond. Thank you to Ajit and the rest of the staff. We will certainly be coming back for more excellent food and service.

The Yellow Chilli made a lot of noise in the East Bay, when they opened their doors in summer of 2023. I had grabbed dinner with my parents and recalled how salty it was. I hadn't been back since! Revisited last Friday for dinner, party of 3. Super underwhelming. They try* to offer this fine dining experience - which I'm super confused by. All of the drink-ware is plastic, the serve ware is chipped and damaged, could nick your finger if not careful. The Indian food isn't spicy at ALL. I do understand that the restaurant is located in Danville and must cater to bland taste buds ... but offer spicer options for your ethnic crowd too. We had an appetizer that consisted of lamb in the shape of sausage, fried chicken and fried fish. Due to my celiac (gluten allergy), I was only able to taste the lamb. It was good, my friends attested to the chicken and fish being delicious. However, the butter chicken was sweet and not spicy enough. The goat biryani was okay. The quality of the goat was good, but it was dry and the biryani had flavor but no spice. The staff is so kind, respectful, they go above and beyond. The instrumental playlist is lovely. The decor is super trendy. Love the patio, but I came here to eat and was not impressed by the food****. Would not return. Also - why are they serving hot water in plastic mugs/cups!? This isn't healthy ... stop it.

Elevated Indian food with a family friendly ambience. Loved the appetizers and cocktails we ordered. They have some really unique cocktails, and others are on the sweeter side so be aware. Also enjoyed the chole and paneer main dishes. Service was good but nothing exceptional. They have lovely outdoor and indoor seating options.

This place never disappoints!! Been here multiple times and tried various dishes from this location and the food was always on point, this place is decked up and has cute outdoor seating as well A bit pricey overall but the quality of the food makes up for it, they have very soft naans and I like the non veg platter for apps, quick service and friendly staff. I found that the desserts were a bit let down

Others have provided lots of positive comments on the excellent food. See some attached photos…read more I was, honestly, amazed at the service and the staff. We were way late for our dinner reservation but the manager, Aman(?!) was warm and welcoming. The bartender (name?) also doubled as a server. Very helpful with our cocktail orders. Extensive bar. After years, I was served my straight single malt in a chilled glass. Without having to ask! The server, William, is one of the best trained servers that I have come across. Ever. Thoughtful. Efficient. Attentive but not intrusive. (What's a guy like him doing in a place like this! ) The chef (name?) sent each dish out looking elegant. There were six of us, so we had three appetizers, four entrees and a dessert. Impressive plating! He visited us at the table to ensure everyone was happy. As you may know from my reviews, the experience is more important to me than the food. Given that this is a "mall restaurant!," I was blown away! Food-wise, I won't go into details, but portions were really small... mostly sauce, not much actual food. Overall just not a place we'd go back to.
