Amazing Indian restaurant in this crow canyon danville location and the food was absolutely delicious . Have been trying to visit this place since long but finally happened with wife and kids and we enjoyed the meal of roti / rice / yellow dal / papad and chicken korma and malai kofta. Our kids loved the simple dal rice and on the main dishes malai kofta was nicely done and felt like keema and the chicken korma with Zucini and carrot added to the taste. Probably the best indian food Ive had. I didnt sit at the restaurant but would love to dine in next time. The food was made quickly. Great customer service. I tried the vegtable samosas they were so good and a good size. I probably shouldve ordered more. The chicken tikka masala. I love that you can make it really spicy and still taste the flavor. I love coming here with my parents whenever I'm in my hometown. I love the lamb chops and saag aloo--or saag with anything--especially, but I also love the lamb vindaloo, vegetable samosas, garlic naan, and paneer naan. The lamb chops are super tender and were especially juicy and extra amazing today for some reason, although they're normally very good anyway. The saag aloo looks not that appetizing in my opinion, but it's so yummy and filled with so many spices and goes super well with basmati rice or naan, which is always super warm and soft. The lamb vindaloo is super good and definitely better than the chicken vindaloo. I also love the vegetable samosas, which are always piping hot and fresh. The owners here are so kind and friendly, and I remember feeling sad once when one of them wasn't there since he's such a jolly fella. I will say that chicken isn't my favorite thing here. Not a huge fan of the chicken tikka masala, chicken samosas, and tandoori chicken since they do seem a bit dry, but I love everything else here! It's always pretty calm and peaceful here since Danville is a quiet suburb. read more

Obsessed! Luckily we walked in and it wasn't busy so we were seated right away. I believe the owner was there when we arrived and he overheard us saying we wanted our tikka masala spicy. He asked us if we were sure and definitely delivered! It was so spicy but sooooo good! I loved that the spice didn't throw off the flavor profile but instead tasted like the perfect mix. The naan was huge and definitely enough for 2 but I'd suggest getting 2 rice servings for 2 people as we ran out as we were eating. Samosas were tasty but it did have to grow on me. We also ordered the Lamb Saag, and the lamb cubes were incredibly tender and the spinach/mustard greens base was fresh and earthy. And seriously, do not skip the bread! Cozy little spot in a strip mall, greeted with a smile and shown a seat when we walked in at 6pm-ish on a Monday. Another couple were eating and after we walked in another family walked in. Our order was taken quickly, and our appetizer of Somosa's came out steaming hot and fast! We opted for the veggie Somosa's and they were nicely spiced and delicious. The rest of the food arrived very quickly after the appetizer. As you can see we received a lovely large portion of rice, I'll say the Chicken tikka masala was my favorite. Super flavorful, though I could go up a notch in heat/spice level. The prawn Korma which was in curry type sauce was tasty, but quite mild in flavor. Along with some naan, we had a lovely dinner that didn't break the bank. I would definitely eat here again and I'm glad to know where I can go close by for good Indian food. read more

My friends have been raving about Pias so they brought it over for me to try and it was delicious! The chicken tikka masala is a home run. It's not overly spicy and the chicken is so flavorful. The sauce paired with the basmati rice is perfection. Also tried the chicken vindaloo which was also delicious and the garlic naan and onion naan. This is my go-to Indian restaurant when I'm in the area for take out. The food is amazing and the service is superb! The owners are so nice and she remembers you too! I've ordered so many times that she'll know which order is mine as soon as I walk in the door. They do a lot of take out orders. However, if the dining room is open, you'll find about 5-6 tables. The decor and ambiance is nice. It's always clean and well-kept. We always put in a large order for the following: -garlic naan - we always order at least 4 pieces and they are huge. They come foil wrapped so they stay warm. -basmati rice - the rice here is so flavorful and fluffy. At $1.50/carton, you can't go wrong. -vegetarian samosa - one order comes with 3 pieces. These are stuffed with seasoned potatoes and other spices. I love the mint chutney that it's served with. -saag aloo - I love spinach and their saag aloo and saag paneer are amazing. I generally prefer the potatoes over the paneer but both are great. Lots of flavor, great consistency, and a generous portion -aloo gobi - Our favorite dish. Cauliflower is another favorite vegetable of mine and the way they roast and season it here is amazing. There's also a generous amount and a good cauliflower to potato ratio -chicken tikka kebab - just like tandoori chicken but without the bones. There's a generous amount of chicken here served with onions, bell peppers, and a few lemon wedges. Really good tandoor char flavor and taste! -tikka masala sauce - we'll also order a side of tikka masala sauce with our meal. It's great with the rice and to dip the naan into. -Tawa Shrimp - if you're not feeling like chicken, the tawa shrimp entree is great. It comes with about 6 big sized prawns grilled and cooked perfectly. This is also served with onions, bell peppers, and lemon. -Mango lassi - we'll always order at least 4 cups of these as the family loves it. It's freshly made and pairs perfectly with the delicious food above! If you're ever in the area or live in the area, check out Pia's Kitchen! Ok I've been unhappy about my local go to Indian place (Hyderabad Biryani House) because their Chicken Tikka Masala was light on the chicken so I found this place closer to my house and Yelp was giving good reviews, so I decided to see if they were better. Well it didn't work out that great, I didn't find the food better. Oh well Here some notes on my experience with the food: Chicken Tikka Masala (3 Stars $17.50) The sauce was fine, they have a good amount of chicken, but the chicken was tuff and dry. It seemed to be old tandoori or over cooked, not sure but it wasn't good. Regular Basmati Rice (3 Stars $1.50) Never really had bad rice before, it might be the way they package it for take out (I always do take out at my local go to so the comparison is equal), but it was not fluffy, it was heavy and clumpy, like it was scraped from the bottom of rice cooker at the end of the day, almost dried out. Plain Butter Naan (2 Stars $3.25) First I was confused on the name when ordering, is it plain or is it buttered? how can it be both? Well turned out plain won, no butter found! The quality was also an issue, it was chewier than usually and a bit more dense. It was cooked ok, the right amount of char, but that's about it. Vege Samosa (3 Stars $5.50) They were ok, but not better than my usually place. The dough was not crispy, it seemed like they were cooked a while back then kept warm and the crustiness was allowed to steam away. The filled was just average. Chicken Biryani (2 Stars $17.00) again heavy clumpy rice, dry tuff chicken, but the heat level was fine. The flavor was average. It was weird there was 1 strip off green bell pepper, which leads me to believe there was some type of cross contamination. Why 1 strip? I'm sticking to my usually place... read more

Pia's Kitchen is so delicious. Our go to dishes are Tawa Shrimp, Tandoori Chicken, and Vegetable Korma. We always order naan though I prefer Trader Joe's freezer garlic naan. We also usually get two orders of basmati rice - so simple and good. We are lucky to have been able to dine in before the pandemic. The service was excellent then though now it's more perfunctory. I know, it's super hard to run a restaurant. Although their website says no dine in, we were able to dine in a couple times for weekday lunch. Call ahead to check. Not much for ambience. read more
