Called in an order, food was about 10 minutes late. Seemed like a busy place so it was understandable. The fish and chips appeared to be a sliver of fish fried beyond all recognition until it required a dental visit to eat, stuffed into a wedge with a small collection of fries. Inedible, I tried. The wing dings were fried a little better. Unfortunately, no side of blue cheese or ranch to go with it. It appears to be a side of warm mayonnaise. The cole slaw was really good. Griffins is an awesome hometown deli. It's always busy and bustling there. On occasion they have messed up our order but they're usually pretty good with making it right. Most of the staff are friendly and cheerful, ready to take your order. The pizza is always delicious, and perfect for a large party or gathering. Sandwhiches have quality meat on them and they don't skimp on the amount. Some items are priced on the higher end but it is competitive to the area and I'm willing to spend the extra to support local. Service was not good. The lady at the counter was rude and seemed like she didn't know what she was doing, specifically asked for a 1/2 sub with boars head meat, she failed to type in boars head, I corrected her, she got flustered and couldn't figure out how to correct the mistake, I then said lettuce, American cheese and mayo, she got the mayo and somehow tomato, I repeated again, she didn't acknowledge me and then typed tomato in the computer, I said no tomato again, and then my fiancé ordered, she failed to mention that the sandwich he ordered came with Swiss when he asked for American (it didn't say Swiss on the menu) and the girl making it had to confirm with him if he wanted both, he said no, just American. I received my sub with no cheese, no lettuce, it had tomato, mayo and meat. Super disappointed because the meat was good and the subroll was also good, but messing up the order after I said multiple times what I wanted and just being plain rude makes it hard to want to return. read more

This is one of my favorite places in town to get deli items. That also includes very reasonably priced square pizza that actually tastes good. The salads they make are all really good as well. Overall the prices in the store are average to good for a convenience market. I've been coming here for almost 30 years, back when they were Bonfare. The name may have changed, but they continue to make quality products. I'm not in town very often these days, but whenever I am I make sure that we make a stop here at least once. The only thing that can be somewhat troublesome is that they employ local teenagers to work there. That is a great service to the community, but can also lead to less than optimal speed and service. We know it is a learning opportunity and likely the first job for some of them, so we hope other people give them the same amount of slack that we do. read more

We've been locals and buying pizza from here when it was called, bonfare. Great pizza for years. But, last 2 years their pizza has been hit and miss. it see like it was best when the owner does it. ? So our last 3 pizzas were not like it is when it's good! Last night we got one that looked like a little kid made it and it was under cooked. Wife and I trued to eat one piece each. Didn't finish it. It tasted weird. Not sure if too much yeast or something. The dough was not like usual. Funny thing is, the pizza tgey sold by the slice was perfect looking!! We were very very disappointed. Especially since we now live in Selkirk. Last night was our last pizza there. There's a place right here in Selkirk that's not as good when Griffins is good. But better than when Griffins is sub par. And we've been getting more sub par pizza than not. It's just a shame the owner even lets pizzas like this be sent out. We like Paul's A LOT, but their pizza doesn't hold up as well as Griffins does for the 20 min ride. We eat in there for the best pizza around, It's thin made like Ny style. But griffins HAD the best square pizza I found anywheres since the 70's. good luck to anyone trying their pizza for the 1st time. You might get a great pizza, or one that's not worth eating! I just ordered a 12 cut pizza which I ordered lightly baked; not a fan of brown cheese. Upon arrival to pick up the pizza I was told by Vinnie that my pizza was not lightly baked as requested and did have brown cheese on it but a new one was in the oven and would be done in 10 minutes AND I could have this one too. If the tell you your sub is going to take 25 mins you have to show up a hour later and maybe it will be done. I don't know what takes them so long to make a simple Italian mixed sub. There employees care more about talking with each other than doing there job i.e. making sandwiches, putting orders together and cashing people out. We regularly pick up dinner here. This is some of the best pizza in the area, and that's no small feat considering the sheer amount of pizza places. Nice thick crispy crust dripping with luscious cheese. My kids like the T-rex. Their falafel wrap is also amazing: fresh fried falafel balls in a spinach wrap stuffed with cucumber, tomatoes, lettuce, red onion and sauce, the perfect combination of hot and cold/crispy. A good selection of beverages, sides and desserts as well. They do get crazy busy at times which can challenge the service, but the food is so consistently good and reasonably priced, it will continue to be a regular stop for us. read more

You can spend 20 minutes calling here and getting a busy signal before someone picks up. Sometimes the phone will just ring and no one will pick up. But one thing that's guaranteed is your order will not be ready at the time they tell you - give them an extra 20 minutes or so, they'll need it. read more

Tried this place one too many times and keeps disappointing. Tried a simple turkey and Swiss on rye. Forgot the swiss. No one else there at counter. Installed new refrigerator. Put pre-priced salads in containers. Picked up macaroni salad and brought to counter. Now rember, they are already priced. Girl decides to change price while I'm standing there because the price per pound was wrong. This is the one who forgets the swiss that she has marked down on the wrapper. My advice go to subway.
