Nice spot from the atmosphere to the speakers to the drinks and vibes definitely had a good time here and would recommend to anyone in the Santa ana area who wants to have fun on the weekend "July" one of the promoters hooked us up with tickets this Saturday and will definitely be back!!

We attended the Yost for a Candlelight Event and we loved it. They have a bar area inside the theater room and another one before entering the bar. I am not sure how it is overall but for the Candlelight event it was beautifully decorated. At the time we went they did not have food but I am not sure if they have food services for any of their other events. Parking is available right outside for a maximum of 2 hours. But there is also plenty of parking surrounding the area.

Decent would be abit over statement but it will do. Came here for a dj party and was not feel welcome and the staff was just rude over all. Good venue with good foods & drinks, and parking lot was either in-front of the theater or across the street (with paid of course). Would I come back? No, unless there is an event that I really want to go.

Went to see Moenia who was phenomenal! But the way the venue oversold tickets had everyone packed like sardines in a can. No room to dance to awesome Moenia songs. Being in a overcrowded venue was the worst part of the night.

I love Invasion and the venue is so nice saturdays as well the music so good and the drinks are not expensive Great bartenders.

Do not let the less-than average reviews deter you from visiting this venue! I read the reviews of this place before attending an event, and I was... concerned LOL. But I'm happy to report that I had a good experience here. Parking - A bit of a nightmare, but we got lucky with parking right next to the McDonalds. Space & ambiance - This place gets the job done for hosting smaller events. The VIP sections were definitely a bit tight for the amount of people in our party but that can't be helped - we had a huge group. The general admissions floor was spacious and hosted a huge crowd without it feeling too tight or uncomfortable. The restrooms were never too crowded even though the event space was full. Staff - I didn't have any problems with the staff. The security staff did their jobs well, and I didn't have any issues with my VIP wristband with getting in and out of different areas. The ticket staff and drinks staff were also kind - no complaints. Music - I was impressed by the quality and sound of the stereo system. I definitely recommend bringing ear plugs to help protect your ears, but I can tell this would be a great venue for other sorts of music events. The screen for the visuals did the job as well. Neither aspects of the venue were outstanding, but they were better than average and in terms of what I expected. Drinks - I ended up spending $180 on drinks so that should tell you something about the... strength and ease of access of buying them. There were plenty of areas to buy drinks, whether in the GA or VIP sections. Overall, 4/5! The venue itself is a bit crunchy, but I'm not expecting all of the bells and whistles for a venue like this. If I see that this venue is hosting a future event, I'll surely be more inclined to buy tickets and attend.

Actually escorted my daughter to an event that was held here. Parking is pretty tight when an event is sold out for the evening. We did find parking on the next street that was $4 an hour until 10:00 p.m. The venue itself seats maybe 100 to two hundred people depending on your decor envisioning. You can decorate it. How you want has a nice second floor component to it where you can overlook to the bottom section

Magic Sword--we'd seen them live at the Wiltern when they opened for Avatar in 2021. Three band members: drums, electric guitar and keyboard. Superbly entertaining, with their mythology about a magic sword that the keeper wields to fend off the evils of the universe. People in the audience were waving their LED blue swords and glow sticks along with the beat--exhilarating and mesmerizing! 3. Dance with the Dead --last saw them in San Diego in 2017, tried to see them again along with magic sword and avatar in 2020 but that was cancelled because of COVID, finally got to see them live last night and it was epic! No wonder this tour is called the FACE OFF tour! Dance with the Dead and Magic Sword brought their kick$&* danceable energy and the crowd went wild! So, the concert was 5/5! The venue was 4/5-love the intimate space, appreciated that the sound was balanced and not too loud. However, the parking situation was crazy. I realize the street construction by Santa Ana wasn't the venue's fault and they DID try to notify us that there would be detours... however, to designate three levels of parking as general-general; premier-general; and premier-premium is just stupidly confusing. We had the middle tier which made us think we went through the premier entrance but no, we had to do a U- turn in an already trafficky situation to go to the general entrance. Whatever. We got there. But maybe designate the tiers more succinctly and clearly?! Anyway the FACEOFF tour rocks! And the Observatory is still cool as a concert venue and we'll likely go again!

Took about 45 minutes to get on a shuttle, another 15 to get to the venue, and when we got there we were welcomed with a line that was a little over a half mile long. 40ish minutes later we finally got to the gate after missing the first band entirely (Plain White T's) and 3 songs of the second band (NFG). When I was approaching the metal detectors, I heard security say "screw it, let them in!" And stopped checking bags or people setting off the detectors in an effort to speed up the process. The sound was great (parking lot show) but the parking situation with shuttles was atrocious. They need more than one entrance, and they need more gates. Absolutely no reason that line should have taken so long.

There's no windows and no doors down there, but once you start drinking and focusing on the stage the anxiety tapers off after a while. It's in the heart of downtown so there's literally tons of bars and restaurants surrounding this venue. I've seen rapper Sugar Free perform here, reggae legend Keith of Keith & Tex (Tex got stuck at immigration in Canada) and recently saw New Zealand's very own Jonathan Bree perform here. Jonathan Bree's performance here was definitely in my top 5 concerts I've been to in my life and this venue had a lot to do with it. Parking is all 'effed up right now in Downtown, but look for a meter along French St. and walk literally across the street to the front door. There's also parking structures on 3rd and 5th st which are a short walk. DO NOT PARK IN THE SHOPPING CENTER! YOU WILL GET TOWED. I'm a local and for 5 minutes I thought, "I could totally park at McDonalds or in front of Smart & Final," but the lady that was handing out wristbands specifically said if you're parked there you will get towed, people are watching. This town makes its money off of parking tickets so I believe her. Also, if you're ever in Downtown Santa Ana for an event, make sure your meter is paid up and you're in a legal parking spot because I see it every time, cops/city parking patrol is OUT at all hours of the night writing tickets. La Santa isn't crazy fancy but it is historic and the basement venue is a vibe. If you see an artist is playing here or a club is happening here, definitely go.

I was lucky enough to stumble across this gem of the center of OC when they first opened - and I am proud to be a regular here. I don't know how to go somewhere else - because I feel like the staff are giant gems in this jewel of a spot. Winters is a curator of boozy information that has helped me learn about "gin" and "root beer whiskey" so I can sound like an adult-ish purveyor, when really I know close to nothing except being a willing student to his creations. Dan the Man and Jacob always see me raise my hand in the corner of the bar, like the student I am, and have been willing to fill in the blanks for me when I know I am of thirst, but do not have the words for what to order. Every person working in the well has treated me with kindness - they have taken the time to get to know me, and I will be forever appreciative of how they have taken care of me over the years. But the real joy has been the transformation that this spot has for building a community of people in Santa Ana for real recognizing real. I have been bringing my Dad with me to play pool for the past few years. Sometimes people ask me if he plays professionally, I am terrible, and my skill incline is slow, he is patient and plays with the same level craftiness that the staff offer the cocktails. My Dad is always stoked when we have time to go have a few hours of games at 616 - especially now that there are regulars on 4th street that are excited to see that he is there playing - and they rush to write their names on the chalkboard to challenge him - or beat him in a game they really earned the W. On lazy Sundays, I watch couples sit with their drink, listening to Jazz, and watching my Dad whoop my ass while making amazing shots. I am forever grateful to Memo who sometimes takes a break from his shift behind the bar to give my dad an actual challenge - which allows me the chance to watch my Dad enjoy fellowship around the table. Knowing the table was a relic of the bars former self, and knowing the history that this spot has in Santa Ana is a reminder that so much around us can change - but it is those moments of the crack of the rack, the cheer of getting the combo shot, and the shake of hands when it's over that shows that it's not just about the pool table - but about the energy of a place that is welcoming and curated by people who care about what they do - and care about who comes through their doors. Thank you Jason and Mike B to bringing this to 4th St and supporting the community that was already here - and for building a community for the future. Thank you to Christina and Brandon for always having amazing pictures, decor, and fun events at 616 that help introduce new folks into this great spot. Time is short. Learn about Root Beer Whiskey. With doors opening about an hour before the concert, the GA line tends to be longer than expected, and most of the venue is standing-room-only unless you opt for "premium" price for seats. Even so, the "standing only" crowd is usually respectful, and despite the tight space, the atmosphere stays fun. But, for short folks like myself, can be a major disadvantage as crowds beginning to move toward the front and blocking the view. From a concert going perspective, wear comfortable shoes is best as you're standing through the two+ hours. The ventilation is okay so you could get warm fairly quickly. Plus, there's four bar stations throughout the venue so there's no shortage of drinks for purchase (snacks are available, too). Overall, I like that the parking garage is attached to the HOB along with many other shops. HOB representatives also offered discounts parking -- so you pay $8 for unlimited parking (rather than $4/hour).
