Even tho we got Out with 15 min to spare, One of the locks was not locked as it should have been, so we kindof skipped ahead and it made solving the puzzles confusing. The atmosphere and place itself was nothing special. This is our second room we have done, and the production of this was just not very neat as neat as another location. that said I also think all of the other rooms look cooler but given the time we could go and amount of people we had, it was the only option. I also didn't like that there was nothing really to find- everything was number codes. I think I also prefer rooms within rooms and that wasn't the case either really. Just don't go here, have a bad experience and then never do it again is all i'm saying.. Updated to say I DID go to this place, just because my name isn't the one on the booking. I signed your waiver proving I was there. Regardless it isn't a personal attack. Reading reviews is helpful to people that don't have all the time in the world to try every place out. read more

I am a big fan of escape rooms. This location has multiple rooms! So, as the escape queen, I WILL BE BACK! Did the Rush Hour room with just my boyfriend and I and it was a good mix of simple and complex. I felt that this helped the game progress at a good pace without being discouraging or obvious. The staff was AMAZING and SUPER polite. I am picky about my escape rooms and I can say that this one passed my expectation. Worth every dollar!!! (*I found this to also be a great couples exercise. Our family has done all three rooms. We absolutely love it, and we will be doing their 4th and 5th room as soon as they open it. As star trek nerds, the idea of the lunar lab room is going to be super exciting to us when it finally gets open. Before I dive into the reviews of each room, I want to give a shoutout to Jason. He was the room master for two of our rooms, and he does a fantastic job at providing clues to get over the humps without giving everything away. He has a perfect blend of specific vs vague to make the room enjoyable. Inheritance - This is our favorite room. There's a super good balance of searching items, solving puzzles, and opening locks. The room follows a local structured path. This is a very clever room with logical, numeric, and word puzzles. As someone in our group had physical limitations, this room also works well for people who may not be as mobile. Jail Break - This is a great room for a large group of people; however, I wish there was a warning about the physicality needed for this room. The cells are rather small, and there is a good bit of dexterity required by multiple people in the group. I am uncertain how this room could be done by someone in a wheelchair or on crutches. I will not give away any secrets to the room, but if the business owners want to hear specifics that were tough for us, they can reach out to me for specific details since I won't be ruining any of the fun for them. For perspective, we found the puzzles in the room a tad more complicated than inheritance, and we definitely wanted more than the 4 people minimum. There's a lot to do and our group would have been far better off with 2-3 more people. Train Wreck - I'm not sure what the exact name of this one is, but the premise is that a train is going to crash and you have to stop it. This is a smaller room designed for 2-4 people. It's super unique in it's approach. There isn't a lot of searching in this room, but rather a "What am I supposed to do". There's also a lot of McGyver feel to the room. Overall, we had a blast in this room, and we spent the rest of our evening talking about how clever it was. This room is ideal for small groups. read more

We are big fans of a escape rooms And have been to several all over the valley, but this is the best of the best. The clues are so clever and well thought out. There are so many unexpected surprises and moments that make you say Wow!!! The only downside is that as of right now there are four rooms. I wish they had 144 rooms. But I've heard they have plans to expand which is awesome. We can't wait to go back. These are seriously the best, most innovative, most clever escape rooms we have been to. Our group just finished the Jailbreak room, it was excellent. We won with 2 minutes to spare. The little "helper" was a really nice addition. Many escape rooms are lock and key and repeat... But this had additional more interactive things which I like. We were very satisfied with it. And look forward to doing the lunar lab and the new ones they come out with. If the other rooms are as good as jailbreak than it may be one of the better consistent escape room companies in Phx. But we'll see once we've done the rest of the rooms. read more

This was my first time doing an escape room and I'm glad I listened to the reviews because I had. BLAST!!! This was an awesome double date night and we did the inheritance room. We managed to find grandmas jewelry, stocks and bonds and cash AND escape with literally 1 second to spare! It was blast and I can't wait to go back and do the jail break one!! Very well made escape room. The hints didn't just converge for the last part but rather led to one another. Even when we accidentally dropped a hook in an unreachable pipe, they were able to get us a new one so we could finish the game. The only thing I would criticize is the delay on electronic locks if too many wrong guesses, but otherwise everything was amazing. The Rush Hour room is a fun one and you will definitely have a good time with this room. Myself, along with three other people were able to complete this room with 15 minutes to spare. The placement of the puzzles and riddles were clever and really get us guessing for me. With many escape rooms we have done before, the room designs can be subpar, but I felt like this room felt like we were actually stuck on a train! I rented an entire room (private booking) for a very reasonable price. I could have up to 8 people in the room, we ended up doing it with 6 people. It was the first escape room experience for all of us. It was an absolute blast! We booked the jail break room and I would highly recommend it. If you are looking for something to do with family/friends, this place is it. This was our first time checking out an escape room and we had do much fun. We did the jail cell room and although we didn't make it out in time, the experience and the way they laid out the clues was exciting enough that we wiil come back. I have since experienced another escape room company and they offered us a mini puzzle to complete that helped us get prepared, which I think is a great idea and the only reason I rated a 4 star. The host was nice, and when we got stuck would offer us clues. The facility and restroom was clean. You will not be disappointed. read more

We booked The Island for a bachelorette party. We had 13 people which is usually too large for an escape room but these guys know what they are doing! The GM was in the room with us, Jake, who was amazing, he kept a good eye on us but never interfered and was amazing at fading into the back ground. The puzzles were varied, the items worked as they should, and the competition aspect was so fun! We loved it and although can't go back to do this exact room will totally come back to this company! They were always friendly both on the phone and in person, the place was clean, and the location was nestled nicely into Tempe that we could walk anywhere for dinner before. What a great time watching my 3 daughters work together (26, 21 & 16yr) and John the boyfriend helped, while my wife and I chipped-in some ideas. James, our tech, gave just the right amount of info and he was so nice. This was my first experience in an escape room and i was impressed. My daughters have done other rooms at different companies in Arizona & Maryland and this is one of the only organizations they would want to come back to do a different room. I recently been on an escape room binge since learning about them so I have been to multiple locations and tried different puzzles. We parked in the Hayden Square Garage which was fairly easy to find them from where we were located but coming from Mill Ave I can see how it is a bit tricky locating it since it is not directly on the street. This location seemed a little run down compared to other locations I've visited, however this is not the reason behind my 4 star review. I had a 7:15PM private booking scheduled, we had a group of 8 and arrived 10-15 minutes early...Upon arrival, we were not greeted or even acknowledged for about 5-10 minutes. Finally a younger gentleman came and told us to fill out the waivers after that we do not hear from anyone until 7:25 when WE had to ask for an update about getting into our room, which she said she'll be right with us. Finally after waiting a little bit longer and instructions given we finally got into our room around 7:35-7:40PM. Once in the room (Jail Break), we all had a blast. The employee working with us (sorry I don't remember her name but she had pink hair) was very nice and helpful!! We were able to get the majority of the puzzle done. Besides the initial interaction everything else went great with our experience at Escape Zone. read more

My husband and I decided to try the new room, Rush Hour, with some friends tonight. This room was the perfect choice for a group of four. My husband and I have done several escape rooms and we were impressed with this one.The theme is unique and the room is very creatively done. The special effects actually made us feel like we were in a moving train! The room isn't sequential or linear, and I like that because everyone can stay busy working on different clues the entire time. There are various types of clever clues. We made it out with only 39 seconds to spare!! We spent some time afterward talking with the owner and staff, and they were so friendly as made the game a lot of fun. I have also done The Inheritance with coworkers and loved it. The detailed decorations in the rooms make the experience very realistic. I can't wait to try Jailbreak too! read more

For being a 6/10 for difficulty it kept us going for the whole hour. We thought it'll be less interesting since it was just us two but it was all worth it. We loved it! Now that I've been to some other escape room's I wanted to make sure I review my all time favorite! I've now done all of the rooms at Escape zone... and I struggle to pick my favorite! The large group Island room is unlike any other room I've been to since it can accommodate so many people! I think Escape zone is really a step above the others because even with the max number of people there are enough tasks and puzzles, locks, keys, and clues to keep everyone busy and working! No time for anyone to stand around and just watch. I've even done one twice (a new group of friends picked the room) and since there were so many things to do I spent the entire time finding clues I missed last time... and was able to still enjoy it (I did have to keep my mouth shut on the last couple steps before you escape). Mark, the owner and designer, does an incredible job! Location is great to since you can make a night out of it and grab dinner and drinks after or before! read more

We brought six 13 year-old boys here for our son's birthday, and they had an absolute blast!!! My husband and I got to walk around beautiful downtown Tempe for a bit while the kids were there. We came back before the hour was up, and the staff was so friendly - they even let us peek in on the monitors to see the kids working together to get clues. We've been to several escape-the-room venues, and this one is by far the nicest and most well-managed. One of the higher quality escape rooms I've been to and goes to show you don't always need to incorporate all the high tech to be a good room. Jail Break was AWESOME. The room itself was very well put together, I was very impressed and my group and I had a blast. you really have to put your heads together in order to escape, i would rate this room level difficulty to be an intermediate slightly harder room coming from someone who's done about 30 or so rooms.
