Amazing. Hubs and I were needing a date night without the kids and we were so glad to find this place! From starting with calling for reservations to leaving, Thea's staff was incredible. In today's world of lackluster servers and service, everything about this restaurant was great. We never felt rushed and felt as if we could take our time and enjoy the experience. We had a 5:30 reservation on a Tuesday and I'm glad we did because it got busy not long after. BYOB is an option here but we chose to have the delicious ABC craft sodas. We chose the calamari app and it was different than anything we've had before.. in a great way! Hubs chose the pasta bolognese and thought it was the perfect portion size. I chose the market price jumbo lump crab cakes. The crab cakes were not over seasoned and had very little filler. Tons of huge chunks of delicious crab!! I opted for the up charge of getting the Brussel sprouts for my vegetable and while I was a little surprised about the price, I would say it's definitely worth it! Thea used to be Harrisburgs best kept secret but with the new construction the popularity is rapidly growing. The food is always amazing, the specials are often changing. The atmosphere is beautiful and serene. For special occasions inquire about their private rooms. It is a nice added touch for your small party or celebration. They offer a beautiful patio for outside dining as well. The beet salad is a very good choice but the real treat is the Brie brûlée! This appetizer with a salad is easily an indulgent, delicious meal! Thea is a BYOB restaurant which allows those with a smaller budget to bring their favorite bottle of wine to enjoy an upscale dinner without breaking the bank. My husband and I frequent Theas. It has been nothing short of amazing. We love the atmosphere. Nice lighting and wonderfully crafted tables. We love our server Tasha. She has been our regular server and we try to request her when we go to Theas but if she is not available or off the other servers are great. Tasha is always sweet and attentive. The food is delicious and the portions are perfect. Chef AnnMarie makes each incredible dish with great care and love. I'm very excited to be the first to review. I had take out there this evening. The dining room is beautiful and I am looking forward to my next visit. The furniture is beautiful. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was large and cooked perfectly. It was flakey and the batter was light and crispy. The fries were fresh cut and delicious.the owner came and brought me my food. She told me I was the first customer to order this and asked that I call her and let her know how I liked they remoulade. Truth be told, I dislike remoulade in general. Because she was so sincere, I went home and tried it. It was great! I wouldn't change a thing. I'll be having this agin for sure. Having dined here on multiple occasions, I have never been disappointed in any dish from this restaurant. The menu is varied enough so that you have multiple options, while limited to be sure each dish is given proper attention and reflecting the season. The interior space is pretty and comfortable no matter where you are seated. I am not as fond of the patio, but that's simply my preference. Since we often travel across PA we are always looking for new restaurants to try. Thea was today's stop and sadly it didn't meet expectations. The decor was chic and modern, service good. Brie salad with shrimp was a unique dish with excellent dressing; we wondered why the deep fried Brie balls were ice cold though. The big disappointment was the Chicken & Crab Florentine. The chicken was dry, the cream sauce was bland with minimal spinach and crab, and the entire dish was overwhelmed by balsamic glaze. Not worth $30 at all. To Thea's credit they deducted that off our bill and graciously received our criticisms. read more

Went out weekend before Valentine's day. Had reservations for 4 and was seated very promptly, but that was about all that was prompt. Our waiter (Alex I believe, but I won't swear to it) took a while to come back and open out bottle, then took a longer while to take our appetizer order, then still longer to take our entree order. When we did get our entrees one person's chicken was almost completely raw, and we had to flag down a waitress from another section to get a replacement. The replacement DID come relatively quickly (obviously someone else's order, so that person had to wait), but it was delivered by the food runner, and our waiter didn't even know there had been a problem - he didn't show up until we were almost halfway through our entrees. There was no follow-up from the waiter, no follow-up from management, and nothing offered to be taken off the bill (not that we were going for that). The food was very good (appetizer's were excellent!), but the service was below sub-par. That was the 2nd time I've eaten at Thea, and it will most likely be the last. If I'm going to be paying that much for a meal there are multiple other options for great food that also have great service. read more

Excellent burgers advertised as Wagyu. I had the drunken mushroom burger and fries. the mushrooms were good, couldn't really distinguish the Guinness sauce, but it was very good. The fries were excellent, reminiscent of beach/boardwalk style. Lunchtime on a Saturday was maybe 15% of capacity. Pricing was not inexpensive, $16 for mine. The bread pudding is also excellent, just the right size and super tasty. Update! Chef Marie saw my review and came put to our table to ask about the Guinness sauce, and is tweaking it based on my feedback... How cool is that?! read more

My daughter would look at the pictures of the food and say why are they using a garnish on that ? Or they sprinkled the lip of the plates with parsley. That is a past due trend that went out of style. We have been lucky enough to eat at Michelin starred restaurants and also eat at places in Europe. So this place I would say that decor is very nice but the kitchen is just missing the mark. I don't know if they went to culinary school or not. I didn't but I was lucky enough to be taught by someone who was a CIA chef. So people who not eaten a dish elsewhere may say it's great. I last had the tacos. There was so much gristle that I just pulled out the meat and ate the tortilla alone. My partner had the crab cakes. He said they taste like what you can get from Costco. We ate here for the first time this evening. The food was delicious. Unfortunately, about 5 minutes after finishing our desserts while we were still drinking our coffee, a woman who I am assuming was the manager came to our table and told us we had to leave because they needed the table for another party. I could understand if we had been sitting there for a long time after finishing our meals but we were still finishing our after-meal coffee. Completely ruined the dining experience for us. It was our first time being at this restaurant. we ordered immediately after being seated But never got asked if we would like something to drink other than the water they provide when you first sit down. the appetizer came out within 10 minutes after being seated. we got the joes meatball appetizer and it was one single meatball (regular size at that) with a slice of bread cut diagonally and toasted with garlic seasoning on it... that small appetizer costs $10 which is ridiculous. We ended up having to wait close to an hour for the entrees which is not a huge deal but while the chicken sandwich came out hot and ready to be eaten the other burger was at best lukewarm. both of the orders of fries came out rather hard and gave off a chalky, tasting texture. Overall the ambience was very nice and the experience itself was pleasant.. the food just left a little more to be desired given the asking price of the food. Just spent a perfectly lovely evening at Thea. Had been there fir lunch, but never dinner. First, we are outside and there was JAZZ! We ordered Coconut Shrimp and Truffle Fries as appetizers...both very good. Caesar and Mango salads were fresh, tasty and a bit out of the ordinary (polenta croutons). Have been here three times and three is definitely not the charm! Food is not seasoned and not very flavorful. All three times of my visits all of us in our party have sent food back to the kitchen. This restaurant has a wonderful menu that changes with the seasons. I truly enjoy it. During the pandemic, they offered dining in plastic pods which was alot of fun! We actually ate there in our cozy pod while it snowed outside. (Yes, they charge a $20 fee if you request the pod). My only complaint is that they don't seem to be as careful with gluten free foods. I ordered an entree with a GF pasta and I even verified when it was presented to me that it was GF. The waiter told me it was. I proceeded to eat it before realizing it didn't taste GF. I asked again if it was truly GF. He assured me it was so I finished the plate. I later felt sick and learned that they had served me gnocchi. I think the waiter wrote gluten free and the kitchen misread it was gnocchi. I try to not order pasta or anything else that can be misinterpreted at this point. read more

My mom hosted my bridal shower here last weekend in their private room. It was perfect! Ambiance: very new, chic, bright and open. Staff:The staff was so friendly and accommodating! My mom accidentally ordered the cake for the wrong date, and when it was discovered that she did this, they found a solution without a hitch. Three dessert options were brought from their sister restaurant and no one even noticed that there was a mistake. Food: We had appetizers and a fixed menu for lunch - two sandwich options and two salad options. Everything was absolutely delicious. Seated at 4 top right next to kitchen door. Hard metal chairs. We all had to sit on our coats they were that uncomfortable. 2 of us ordered sea bass special. Waited an extra 15 mins for it, not sure why. When it arrived it had pesto mashed potatoes slopped all over it! Both fish dishes were undercooked. Sent back and told server we want nothing on the fish. She returned with another plate that looked just like the first one! If you order a fish dish you clearly want to be eating healthy. This was all but healthy. The manager did take one of the fish dishes off our bill. Our friend was charged $42 for his.! We are in Mechanicsburg not in a big city so not sure why the exorbitant price for such a small piece of fish. He said something to the server and they did take 50% off. All in all a horrible night. Thea has become a go-to place for us. Consistency is the name of the game! Never a bad meal. The brussel sprouts appetizer is OFF THE HOOK, but it's seasonal . . .so you may have missed it. I was impressed as well as my friend with the chairs at the table. High wing back and very comfortable. Our server was very nice and very knowledgeable about the menu. The specials sounded good but I ordered from the menu instead. I had lemonade for my drink, quite good. They have no bar but you can BYOB. We had two appetizers, Calamari Fritte and Italian Rice balls, both good choices. I ordered the Shrimp and Crab rigatoni. I was anxious about the pasta as I like my pasta al dente. It was cooked to perfection and was the right choice for me. The dessert menu looked good but I passed on dessert. I was to full from the pasta dish. The only complaint I have and it's really not a major one is most places I have dined at offers a basket of dinner rolls or a few slices of bread with dinner. Very expensive for dinner, I got the crab cakes, they were fine, but for 36$ I expected much more. I have heard that the lunch is good here, but for the price of dinner 150$ for 2, I can definitely find better food many places! Late lunch. Service was great. French onion dip appetizer came with baby carrots, large pieces of broccoli and cauliflower, as well as house chips. The menu reads "seasonal vegetables" but this felt like Restaurant Depot vegetables. Beet and arugula salad was good; added salmon, however everything felt like it needed more seasoning. Salmon was very plain, albeit grilled nicely. Lemon vinaigrette was a bit sweet and the herb creme fraiche was not noticeable. The polenta "croutons" were an interesting addition, but again, needed more - salt, herbs, or something spicy to make it stand out. I like that it is BYOB. Location is odd, in a modern housing community, but the interior was modern, clean, and cozy. read more
