Went here for lunch with a friend and found the whole experience - food, service and ambiance wonderful. We shared Brussels sprouts for appetizer - they were just excellent, very light and crispy - highly recommend trying. We also got the Pear Walnut pizza and the crispy brie salad which had the greens with cranberries and the perfect dressing on it. The pizza had caramelized onions and was a little sweet but still very good, crust was medium not thick. Perfect portion sizes. The atmosphere inside is very nice and comfortable seating. Got their crispy chicken sandwich with truffle fries to go. The portion size of sandwich was actually huge and the fries maybe would have tasted better when hot, next time will have there itself. Good place to have a nice dinner. Regarding the location- lot of construction going on in surrounding area. I was relying on GPS and it doesn't lead you here. Very disappointed in our two dinners last night. My wife had a tasty salad except for the unflavored plain salmon that she added to it. I ordered the veal parm and it was very tough. When ypu order veal at a restaurant like this, the veal should melt in your mouth. This did not so it was either old, removed from the freezer or overcooked. The amount of pasta in the dish was sparce. We do not complain much when we go out to dinner but should have told the chef last night when she appeared at our table and asked how everything was with our meal. I've heard rave things about this place and we wanted to see for ourselves! The restaurant has beautiful decor and a nice atmosphere - we did turn into the wrong area of the neighborhood first trying to find exactly where it was, but made it! The setting is a little louder and tables are tighter than I would expect for a bit more of an upscale-ish type place, but like I said - the decor was on-pointe! (although my husband felt the need to say aloud several times that his metal chair was so uncomfortable..). The food was good. Just good - nothing out of this world, but you could tell that it was fresh and carefully prepared. We ordered the charcuterie board for an appetizer (small portions - ordered small though), but nice array and flavors. We also each ordered the beet and arugula salad and that was extremely flavorful - the warm crouton were to DIE FOR! For dinner, we had the Crab Pasta and the Scallop special. The server allowed for a side dish swap for the scallops and I was pleased to have the cauliflower risotto rather than the squash as my side. It was all good. What a great experience when you go to Thea's. The special i has was superior for the area. The wait staff and hostess were charming and engaging. I ordered a special grilled salmon over a fab salad of Brussels sprouts, baby kale, dried cranberries and seeds. This would ensure I will go back many more times. The restaurant was very beautiful and sleek. Staff was very nice and very attentative. The restaurant is a bit of a pain to get to because it's inside a newly develop residential community. So you have to enter from the side of the building not in Lisbane road as the map indicates. I had the upside down pizza which was excellent, along with their house-made tomato bisque soup which was amazing. My parents and I ate dinner around 5:30 on a Saturday evening. This restaurant is absolutely beautiful inside! From the moment my party walked in, until we left, the staff was kind, talkative and accommodating. Upon sitting down, we then realized the place is BYOB, which was a bummer. So make sure to remember your own alcoholic beverages. The food options were limited, but each item we ordered was delicious. We visited this for the first time last night celebrating a home purchase for one of my kids in nearby Orchard Glen. Not only was the food fresh and delicious, the service was 4stars! The waitress was attentive. I noticed a nearby table with 2 couples and the men were wearing dinner jackets. Take out of town guests to brag about a quaint restaurant in the suburbs or to celebrate a milestone moment for your family, or just because. I ordered 3 different appetizers and a large salad the other night for my husband and I. It came to $53.00 which was a bit expensive, I thought. The menu online didnt have prices so I had no idea how much anything was. Turns out I ordered the most expensive appetizers; one was $14.00 and another was $12.00. We ate everything and were still very hungry. The portions were quite small especially the large salad. It looked like a side salad. I live like 1 minute from the restaurant and was early to pick up the food. The hot items were not hot or even warm when I got home which was also disappointing. It was ready when I got there and I think it was waiting a while. The food was very good though. This was my 2nd time ordering here, the first time we ate inside. This is a new restaurant in a new retail/residential development. The dining room is tastefully decorated, not too loud or overcrowded with tables. Service was fine, and we had a nice visit with Chef Annemarie at the end of our meal. Food takes a little while to come out, so it might have been nice to have had a little something on the table to nibble while we sipped our waters. That aside, our meals (lunch menu) were vibrantly prepared and utterly delicious. Certainly among the best meals we have had on the west shore. I had the arugula and beet salad. The arugula was tender and fresh and came topped with a mixture of marinated red and golden beet cubes. The acid of the marinade balanced the sweetness of the beets perfectly, just as the crisp greens were balanced by the creaminess of the generous smear of herb creme fraiche. Perhaps the biggest surprise was the croutons, which were actually golden toasted squares of herbed, melt-in-your-mouth polenta. Perfection. My wife had the chipotle black bean burger, which comes topped with guacamole on an artisan bun. She said it was the best bean burger she has ever had. My daughter loved her Upside Down Pizza, which comes with the cheese under the sauce, for reasons I have not yet discerned. This is a really great option for fresh upscale dishes at a reasonable price point. Although the menu lacks some creativity all of our food was prepared and presented well. The freshness of the ingredients was very apparent and the overall meal was excellent. Portions were a little large in my opinion, although that may appeal to some. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed which is a nice relief on some dining adventures, especially with food at this level. As long as you aren't anticipating a true "upscale" dining environment it won't disappoint. The service was very good throughout the entirety of the meal. We did have to wait a few minutes even though we had reservations because they stated they were behind. I will also add that the wait staff appears undertrained but it may just have been our table (The waitress asked if my dining partner would like to keep the knife from the salad course plate for the entree course....um no, just bring me a new knife without asking please). I first went there in July 2018 when I was visiting Pa. we stumbled on this place. Everything about it was wonderful. The waitress was spectacular and we had some small talk as we consumed this wonderful homemade meal. Upon returning there on year later, we were seated and the waitress was the same one from the previous year (that's a good sign). She actually remembered us and some of our chats. The food was outstanding and so was her service. She answered all our questions about the food and checked on us frequently. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. The food is homemade and I haven't had a bad dish and it also a BYOB. The decor is very lovely and comfortable and I can't wait to go back. read more

I understand the mixed reviews with Thea. We had dinner here one night and it was amazing! The seafood pasta was some of the best I ever had. My issue is with the lunch and takeout. The lunch is too expensive. I think that $18 for a salad with grilled chicken is crazy. Also, I just do not think that the takeout food is even close to the food you receive when dining in. I really wanted to like Thea as I'm somewhat a regular at her mother's restaurants. The atmosphere was nice. I felt the servers were a bit too formal. They advertise it being family-focused but the formality was a bit off to me. Others might like that. The food was good. I was surprised that there is nothing complimentary for the table. I've been to extremely few restaurants that don't at least service a basket of bread sticks. It's a BYOB - which I prefer - but no bread, crackers, anything. Wednesday evening we went to Thea for my birthday. It was absolutely fabulous! First off our server Allie was very warm and welcoming. My wife and I both remarked that she is on top of it. We order our food and it was served quickly and the time between servings was spot on! We started with the calamari, made from scratch ( not from a frozen box) and it was a perfect blend of crispness and fresh flavor in a mild hot sauce. My entree was the salmon du jour which was a thick grilled salmon filet on top of a crispy corn cake and smothered in a guacamole/tomato/onion mix that was fresh and tasteful. I never had asparagus that tender and tasty. I finished with the warm chocolate brownie covered in a oowie gooey Carmel pecan sauce topped with ice cream. My wife had the Seafood Pasta Primavera with huge chunks of crab meat, shrimp, and scallops that were huge and done perfectly. The night was perfect and the entertainment was really good. My husband and I recently ate at Thea for our anniversary dinner and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals! They are BYOB which is fabulous! Their prices are pretty standard, but the portions are a little big. We were sat next to a couple with a baby. They left within 15 minutes after we were seated and no one cleaned their area the whole time we were there; it was pretty gross. Thea is amazing!! We had our wedding reception there a few days ago. AnnMarie and Tasha made our decision on our menu very easy. The foods that we chose were absolutely divine. Everyone at the reception remarked to us how delicious the appetizers, and their main course was. After arriving it didn't take long until the appetizers were flowing at both tables. We all ate together, and there was no waiting on anyones food. Some guests who do not like to try new things actually loved everything. We will definitely be going back. Had the special, scallops/pasta, it was toe curling. Hubs had the pork chop and fresh noodles - he had to move his plate so I didn't eat them all. Slightly larger portion sizes would be nice, but the absence of any toothpicks for customers on the way out is a deduction and cements the four star status. They also turned out so nice and really made it feel like you were at home but with the wonderful food of THEA. The staff has always been friendly every time we go in. I work at a doctors office in the area and I was given a business card for Thea by AnnMarie's mother who's a patient of ours. Her description of her daughter's restaurant was intriguing to say the least. I shared the description with my girlfriend and we were excited to give it a visit. A few months pass by and our schedules finally permit us to have a night out so I make reservations for a Saturday evening after work. We walked in and the atmosphere did not disappoint. It was a pretty packed house. The hostess was very friendly and sat us right away. After we were seated our waiter Andrew introduced himself and started thoroughly going over soup and dinner specials all while opening our bottle of wine and serving it. We were impressed yet again. At this point I'd like to step back and say that before coming this evening I had read a list of glowing reviews all within the past few days about the service and had a pretty good look at the menu. We already knew what we wanted for our appetizer. (CHARCUTERIE BOARD) it was delicious. A few minutes after being served our app Andrew asked if we needed a few more minutes. We said yes. After this point we didn't see our waiter for almost twenty minutes... I'm a firm believer in the saying "great service can make a mediocre meal seem great and poor service can ruin a great meal." And when I say "didn't see him" I don't mean we saw him helping other tables and not us. We simply didn't see him. I noticed this because I watched the other four waiter/waitress's CONTINUOUSLY going in and out of the kitchen doors the entire twenty minutes. Wether it was with appetizers, entrees's, or just to have a quick friendly conversation with one of their tables... I point this out because it is clear that there are tables of "regulars" and first timers like us getting clearly above and beyond service. And that's what was so disappointing... Waiting for so long just order while you see every other table getting some of the best service I've seen in this area is... simply that... disappointing. As for the food... my girlfriend ordered the SALMON DU JOUR*. She loved it and let me try it. It was very good. Taking the service out of the equation at this point, I had the DUROC PORK CHOP... one of the most expensive entree's on the menu. I would not recommend this to anyone unfortunately... it was simply bland, the brussel sprouts were over powering and the pork chop was barely seasoned if at all... this is my first ever review of a restaurant and/or an establishment of any kind so i apologize for it being long winded. I'm not saying don't try Thea. In fact I'd like to think I'd give it another chance... but after spending almost 100.00 on a dinner for two and being so very disappointed... I can't promise anything. My husband and I got takeout and were really underwhelmed. It was a little pricey but we figured it'll probably be really good. The food was just decent but the portions were fairly small. My half chicken was more like a quarter of a chicken. I don't need massive sized meals like many serve but at least as much as advertised! Given the reviews and price I expected better. read more

Let me just say this place is gorgeous on the inside!!! A nice change of scenery for a central PA restaurant. The food was good, although we were not over the moon for flavor, he had the special fish sandwich and I had the Brie and turkey sandwich. I felt it locked a little wow.
