Let me start off by saying this review is long overdue!…read more My husband and I eloped earlier this year in March and decided to do a staycation at the Kahala Hotel to celebrate. While browsing on the hotel website I saw they offer photography sessions on the property with Pacific Dream Photography. I was very intrigued so I decided to reach out via email to get details and see if there was availability on the day we got married. I received a response very quickly and decided to book. The booking process was simple and efficient, so I was already impressed. Fast forward to wedding day! We decided to do a sunset photoshoot which was scheduled for 6 PM. We met our photographer, Aman, at the Pacific Dream Photography desk at the lower lobby. My husband and I both expressed to him that we weren't too comfortable in front of the camera. He led the way and gave us directions on what to do which was so nice! We got to take pictures around multiple locations of the hotel including the gazebo, lawn, beach, golf course, etc. We chatted with Aman throughout and got to learn a little about him which helped us to feel even more comfortable with him. Before we knew it our session was over and it really felt like time flew by. When we got back to the lower lobby, we scheduled an appointment with Aman to meet him the following morning to review the photos and go over the different package options. The next morning we showed up at our designated time and Aman was ready and waiting for us. We went over the different packages and decided on one that came with a certain amount of photos, a video slideshow, and print credit. After viewing all the photos, he helped us to eliminate some and compare similar ones so that we could get down to the amount that was included in our package. I am so happy we decided to do the photo session. Although we didn't have a typical wedding, it's so nice to have both the photos and slideshow to look back on and remember our special day. We had our photo session last october 26th, we had a lot of fun! our photographer JUSTIN did an…read moreexcellent job, he arrived there about an hour prior to the shoot, and was patient enough to wait for us as we search for the exact location. we brought several props we can use, we were happy how he has alot of ideas, on what areas at Waimanalo bay state recreation area we can use to make it look we were at different places. Seemed we might not need our props anyway, but when we asked him if we still can, he used them artistically. It really shows how he loves and enjoys his job, we never felt hurried, or directed in a negative way, we literally had fun:) Pictures turned out GREAT! When searching for our wedding photographer, we narrowed it down to three or so people and asked for opinions from our parents, siblings and some friends, some of which are photographers and / or artists themselves. He is super easy to get along with, he knows what he's doing, had a great second shooter, Hannah, and has an amazing presence, even though sometimes you don't even notice he is there capturing great memories. We were planning a Hawaii wedding from the mainland, which can be difficult at times. Initial emails were answered quickly, we had no issues trying to get in touch with him whenever we wanted to. And the first time speaking with him, it sort of felt like we were chatting with someone we already knew. There is just a level of comfort and confidence that he has which can put any stressed out couple at ease. Our wedding was in October 2019 and the day started out raining off and on. Of course everyone was a bit worried but we knew we couldn't do anything about it and accepted what was to come. Chris arrived on time, to tell you the truth I didn't know what time it was at all that day, even though I was wearing a watch . We introduced ourselves to each other and he got right to work. Completely professional in every way, Chris delivered on all levels. He even gave us sneak peek photos the very next day! He has a great, creative eye and his demeanor is relaxed and comfortable so you can be yourself. What we really liked about Chris was that he gave really awesome directions! I don't mean directions to the location but I mean directions on how to pose, where to look and such. This is really hard to find sometimes in photographers but it makes all the difference in the world. It can make a good image, great or a great image not so great. Chris was able to guide us every step as we are no professional models so we needed a loooot of directions and he did so in a way that was comfortable and easy for us. When we received the gallery, we were thrilled with how they turned out! Clean, modern, and beautiful. He also took a great number of photos which is always nice because you can really pick and choose your favorites. Some photographers will only give you such a limited amount of images. Oh and another thing we really appreciated was his quick turnaround time. It was nice to have the images so quickly. I would not hesitate to book with Chris again. He is definitely a talented gem! In late 2023, we had calls with around ten wedding planners/coordinators and out of all those great choices, we had our heart set on Amanda. Right off the bat, she was SO easy to talk to and made me feel so comfortable. I've heard of many "wedding planner horror stories" and I felt so comfortable during our consultation call to voice my concerns/worries. She described her own process to me and what I should expect which reassured me that this wasn't going to be the case with her. Amanda was the head/sole planner throughout the entire process compared to other places starting off with one planner and then midway getting assigned another planner that would be taking over for the rest which also reassured me that details, big and small, wouldn't be lost along the way. We knew she'd be a perfect fit for us. The planning process included little to no stress because of her! She is very knowledgeable about vendors, our venue's layout and needs, rules, etc. Of course she was extremely helpful in narrowing down our vendor choices (we had an all-star vendor team), but she also took a lot of the stress away thinking about all the logistics and small details I wouldn't have even thought about it if I was trying to do this on my own! She also was respectful of our budget even though my husband and I decided to go over lol, but even though we were over she still suggested different ways to save which all worked out in our favor. Her other strengths are her creativity and design taste. Even when we couldn't envision it, she would and we trusted her fully. There was a reason I was drawn to her after looking at her website and Instagram. There were times throughout the process where I'd get stressed since I am a worry wart, but she always reassured me that everything will work out and that we actually do have enough time. Our check-in calls always felt like talking to a good friend, while still being professional. I loved that about her! Wedding week came and Amanda was able to help us plan our welcome party. She came early to help set up and ensure our rentals came on time and I had everything that I needed. It was a huge success! We wrapped up a couple small details and again, she took care of it all so that we could relax a little. As for the big day... that day was literally a DREAM. I was mentally preparing myself for any possible mishaps to occur like they usually do, but there wasn't even any mishaps that we noticed! We were just a tad bit behind on our timeline and a lot more of our guests ended up taking our transportation than we had accounted for, but they adapted quickly and took care of everything for us. That's how much Amanda and her team were on it right away, so much so, that day went flawless to us. Were so in awe with how beautiful everything turned out. They always made sure we also ate, had drinks in our hand, hydrated, and even sat and fanned the flies away from our food while we continued to take pictures (s/o to the Bellas x2). 4 months later and our guests are still talking about how beautiful our day was and we seriously cannot thank Amanda and her Savvy team enough for everything as they executed our dream wedding.
