My husband and I were really excited to try this restaurant but the experience left a lot to be desired. We ordered: (3.5/5) Bread basket ($8) - plain sourdough and a Gochujang sourdough. Breads were tasty but it was served with a sweetened butter. I requested for plain butter. Overall this was the best dish of the night. (3/5) Lamb Leg - Flavors melded well, the honey glazed carrots were a good touch. This was braised but a good portion of the lamb was dry. (1/5) Duck Breast - this dish looked promising but every piece of duck was dry. I love duck but this was difficult to eat. (1/5) Mussels - this was by far the worst dish... this was salted as if salt was free! I wanted to send it back but my husband didn't want to make a fuss. We both ended up having the mussels without any of the broth which is typically our favorite part. The service was decent, nothing remarkable. The restaurant is nice and cozy inside and there is plenty of parking available even on a Friday night. We didn't have a reservation but they worked us in with very little wait. We ordered the bread tray, really good bread with peppers served with sweet butter and an olive oil/vinegar sauce as well. We shared a 12 ounce NY steak, ordered medium and cooked to perfection. The asparagus and mashed potatoes (with gravy) were very good, presented in a stack and split for us in the kitchen. We should've checked the Yelp reviews ahead of time because we had a pretty similar experience as other guests have noted. Food was below average overall. We ordered black garlic hummus and scallops for appetizers. Black garlic hummus was the best of all dishes with fresh pita bread and veggies. Scallops were too salty, tiny and they were not properly rinsed. We got sand on multiple of them. For main course, we ordered lamb leg and duck breast. They were presented poorly and tasted terrible. Lamb leg was dry and chewy. Glazed carrots in the dish were the only saving grace. Duck breast was very poorly put together. Duck itself was very undercooked and almost not eatable with meaty poultry smell. Overall, the place didn't feel like premium dining. They are just located in a premium spot with premium prices. We paid $171 (including tip) for our dinner. In addition, they even charge you the 3% credit card fee. I'm surprised they are passing this onto the customers. I've always loved Theo's and truly miss how great it used to be. Five or so years ago it was one of our favorites, but the quality has slipped over the last couple of years. We've gone twice in the past few months hoping things had improved, but the food is still disappointing--mediocre at best and overpriced for what you get. The 8oz filet is $75 and doesn't come close to justifying that price, especially when nearby restaurants are delivering better quality for less. Even simple dishes, like the Caesar salad, miss the mark. What makes this so tough is that the ambiance and patio are still fantastic. We really want Theo's to succeed and get back to the level it once had, because we loved it for so long. Hoping to see the food rise to match the atmosphere again. read more

I was incredibly pleased with the level of service and hospitality Theo's provided for a private event I hosted. The food was great and fresh and the coordination of the event was executed perfectly. I also love how the private room came with its own temp control and audio. It was nice being able to control those elements specifically for our guests. The staff we had in our room were kind and prompt. And Jonathan made sure that everything we needed was handled smoothly. Even when we had a slight hiccup with our cocktails. Superb!! This restaurant is a beautiful casual finer dining experience (oxymoron). Let's start with the decor -- I always appreciate a place that uses fresh flowers. And their service is impeccable. The wine options were delightful and they offer a special house set of beverages (seasonally). I enjoyed the seared duck breast -- SUCCULENT. It was tender and flavorful. They paired it with steamed carrots, fennels, cauliflower purée and more. Yummy yummy yummy. The best part? The gallery! A group of colleagues decided to head to Theo's for food and drinks after a networking event on 11/7 around 8pm. To surprise it was closed (sign said 9), when we explained to the manager we would like drinks and apps he agreed to let us in and stay open. Our servers were nice and attentive even though they thought they would be able to leave early. The group decided to order one of each appetizer that the kitchen was able to make and drinks all around. The ones I tried were the duck confit quesadilla, poke nachos and roasted cauliflower, all were good. If I am ever in Roger's again I would love to try them for dinner. read more

My wife and I went to Theo's for our anniversary dinner and we had a wonderful time. On an earlier occasion when having dinner we noticed a Chef's Tasting dinner and a Paired Wine tasting on the menu. We thought that would be a great idea for our anniversary. The meal was five courses, with every dish delicious, perfectly prepared, and expertly served. I had told them when making the reservation (which you need to make at least 24 hours in advance so they can prepare) what type of food we did not like and they made sure the meal did not include these items. Not only was the food perfect, but the paired wines were also unique and expertly matched each of the 5 courses. The atmosphere was lovely and we were not rushed to complete our dinner even though we were pushing closing time by the time we finished. My wife and I have lived in a lot of places in the world and this was one of the best dinners we have experienced. Thank you to Jonathan (G.M. and Sommelier) and our Server Jann for making this a great experience. We will definitely be back. BTW... Most servers were nice except for a lady who looks like she was tired (facial reactions, sighing etc.) Food were good. I guess I just don't like how they cook the, what was that, duck? Drinks, service, and ambiance were great, however for my mushroom ravioli that was almost 30 dollars...I was expecting more. Appetizers were delicious - we especially enjoyed the crabcakes and a wonderful, bone marrow with toast. I have been here once a few years ago and wanted to try again after a less than stellar event. The place is very nicely decorated with seating spread apart and a very nice bar area that get a good bit of traffic. The menu has very good options but we knew we came for the steak. I had the filet and my wife had the ribeye. I started with the crab cake and I would give it a 3 out of 5 and my wife really liked the steak tartare.both the filet and ribeye were seasoned very well and cooked perfectly. The side potatoes were also very well done. We finished with the cheese cake and it was very good. It was moist and just had a great flavor. Came here for dinner a couple nights ago for dinner with coworkers. Reservations were easy through opentable, we arrived and got seated promptly. The steaks all looked really good. We ordered appetizers to share to kick start dinner and a bottle of Jordan wine. Lobster Mac was good but was missing lobster. No chunks or bits at all. The pork appetizer was also very tender and soft. Calamari was good but very small. The show stopper was mussels. It was really good. I ordered the duck confit pasta as I don't get duck often while 3 others ordered ribeye and filet (which they were all happy with). Another person ordered the swordfish as it was highly recommended by the waitress over the monk fish option. My pasta was al dente (borderline raw) - the duck was a bit dry but I did like the mushrooms as that was primarily the only edible thing of my dish. I should have went with the ribeye but it was huge! No one finished it at my table but all raved how good it was. I try to support local businesses but it's getting harder lately. We stopped in for a quick drink. My drink was terrible, I think the Diet Coke was out of code and I know my Diet Coke. When I said something to the bartender there was zero effort to make it right he just looked at me like maybe I ordered my usual wrong. . I also chose the arugula salad with pomegranate seeds as an accompaniment. Not lying when I spill & say in the top two best lobster Mac & cheeses I have ever experienced!!!! I kept quietly scraping the bowl with my spoon to get every bit of the decadent sauce!! I wanted to eat it again & asked to have the two bites left boxed!!! Arugula salad was off the hook delicious & made me feel as I sliding some stealthy healthy greens into my meal!!! Been back to visit, 3, 4 times & really who is counting as every time awaits with smiles, spectacular 5 star service & celestial food for the which obviously I do not deserve!! If you're looking for fine dining in Rogers, you don't have many options besides Theo's, and given the number of people in this town dining on company expense, I'm sure this place does quite well. That said, I don't care for it the way many do. To be sure, it fits the bill in terms of ambiance and service professionalism, but if you're in it for the food, you can get much better for much less money elsewhere in the area. We had the calimari, crab cake, pork shoulder, and mussels to start, and they were, respectively, too salty, too greasy, surprisingly good, and too sweet. One-for-four isn't great. I got the striped bass as an entree, and it had been pan fried in an excessive amount of oil and/or butter, to the point where all surfaces had been crisped. This would have been fine if it had been served with a lighter sauce, but the beurre blanc made it too heavy of a preparation for what is supposed to be a lighter fish. For the dessert we had the green tea ice cream and the $22 chocolate mousse cake (which feeds 4-6, with leftovers). The cake was pretty good, but the ice cream had large ice crystals. I'll probably have a few occasions to return, and will try to order differently and see how it goes... read more

My old fashioned was great! Nice heavy pour; perfectly balanced. The food: I ordered the Mac and cheese with lobster. $16 for a 3/4 cup serving of Mac and with 5 literal crumbles of lobster. Insane. I also ordered the Caesar salad. While the dressing was delicious, without trying I devoured it in 4 bites. For $11, I few like a SALAD shouldn't be a portion for a toddler. While I understand the work of service workers; being one myself, the service was very slow with the restaurant being at half capacity. Might only be back for happy hour. Please do better. So the menu changes often so if you are like me and try to look for photos to know what these wild words mean or what they'll look like, the menu changes make it tricky. I had the espresso martini which was delicious and followed with their 007 Gin and tonic which tasted strange to me. I will say I had a sip of my friend's old fashioned with the toasted marshmallow in it and it was absolutely delicious! Food-that bread and butter just wow! Amazing! Overpriced and watch your bill for accuracy! We had four people and will NEVER return here again! Experience started great, then straight downhill from there. -First round of drinks were great. Blanton's and Wellers. -No Oysters. So we ordered the diced scallop appetizer. It was great. -ordered Mussels, filet, ribeye, crab cakes and lobster Mac. They returned 15 mins after ordering to tell us they didn't have mussels. -Second round of drinks were not good at all and had to be sent back. Bartender I imagine didn't know how to make an old fashioned. This round they were out of Wellers so it was swapped with Buffalo Trace and Blanton's on the other. The remade drinks were good. -Fast forward and hour and a half..... yes you read that correct.... An hour and a half after we ordered our food before it was brought to the table. -Ribeye quality was something I could find at a local Walmart yet they charged over 60 bucks! The asparagus was not edible, it was literally burnt to a crisp and also very very small. The potato whip was ok but nothing spectacular. The lobster Mac was way overhyped. It was literally a bland Mac and Cheese with about four small clumps of lobster. -Wife enjoyed the crab cakes. -Filet was mediocre. A little over cooked. Asparagus was the same with that plate, charred and non edible. We passed completely on desert after this. Then the bill came. Every drink was priced over what the menu said. All of them were 5-6 dollars more than the listed price in the menu. They seriously need to update the prices shown as they're misleading customers. If you're thinking of coming here for a great experience you may want to look elsewhere. Not remotely close to the quality expected for how much our bill was.
