I've had better service at Denny's.... no, I am for real. Went in on Saturday 6/19 with my wife to celebrate an early father's day dinner. Being new to the NWA area I was excited about this dinner and the restaurant billing itself as the premiere upscale dining location in NWA. We were sat without issue around the same time as our reservation, but from there everything was horrible. When I say that I don't just mean for us, but we could overhear other tables stating the same and witnessed their looks of frustration which matched ours. To start we sat for nearly 15 minutes before we were greeted by anyone. That happened to be a girl who stuck her head around our booth to simply state "I'll be by in a minute." Good enough, at least she acknowledged us. However, that minute quickly became another five in which we sat without drinks, not even water. When she did return the greeting was an abrupt "what would you like to drink?"... no introduction, not "have you been here before?", nothing... I asked her name (Sara) and then we gave her our drink order for 2 mixed drinks. Without hesitation she asked "do you know what you want to order?" This flabbergasted my wife and I.... granted we had been sitting there now for over 20 minutes, but we knew nothing about the place, the menu, etc as this was our first time there. I stopped and explained that it was our first time and could she tell us more about the menu. At this point she seemed like we were a hassle but went on to tell us they didn't have lettuce, that the filet was $64 market price and gave some generic recommendations. We opted for the calamari as an appetizer and she went on her way. 5 min later a younger guy in all black fills our waters and then returns to tell us he will be our waiter. Clearly confused we tell him Sara just took our drink and app order, to which he seemed confused about as well and then scurried off. My wife and I joked that we were in the twilight zone and then proceeded to wait another 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive (and in turn decided the next drink would be a bottle of wine so we didn't need to wait on the horrible service). Turns out Landon, I believe that was his name, had taken over for our table. While he tried to be as friendly as possible it was a little too late. He quickly apologized he had to "track down" Sara for our appetizer order (we told him when he first came our drinks and app we gave to Sara so whatever)... Finally about 50 minutes into being there we received our calamari appetizer, which was equally as underwhelming as the service. Keep in mind that meant it was 30 minutes from the time we ordered it until it arrived. To his credit Landon was really trying to make up for the start, but jokes like "don't tell my manager" kind of fall flat when the service is so bad you almost fell you need to. We order a sweet potato salad (very good), the filet (overpriced at $64) and the ribeye along with mac and cheese. Each steak was kicked correctly, though the first steak order we had to tell Landon the temp because he jumped right to the next order without asking. He also brought out bottle of wine and he looked very uncomfortable opening it... from the odd cut to putting the corkscrew in the side of the cork. Again, he was trying with friendliness but there were things going wrong that just compounded the whole experience.The ribeye was very tough, even for a ribeye. The sides were decent. We never once had our wine refilled for us and waters went unfilled as well. Despite the service we ordered desert and the creme brulee was decent, but nothing to write home about. All in this dinner lasted about 2.5 hours. Not because we took our time and wanted a nice, slow dinner, but because service was so slow and poor. Imagine our surprise when we stood up to leave and realized it was only us, 2 other tables and 2 bar patrons in the restaurant. At this point I was flabbergasted to understand why everything was so mediocre. It wasn't even busy. Never once saw a manager, never was asked how our evening was, but I can assure that even if asked they wouldn't have wanted to know. First time at Theo's, assuredly will be our last time at Theo's as well. Avoid at all costs. read more

Pretty good! There are a lot of mixed reviews on this one so I was a bit skeptical. The menu is a little fancy for my taste. We ordered the calamari which I wasn't a fan of? I thought they were a little greasy but my husband enjoyed them. The lobster Mac was delicious. My husband wouldn't share his ny strip so I'm going to go with he really enjoyed it. The swordfish was nicely seasoned. And the veggies underneath it were my favorite part. The only off part was finding brush bits stuck in the lip part of my moscow mule cup so they need to check that after cleaning but really other than that good meal. The restaurant wasn't to busy, our waiter took a little long in between checking in on dessert and then with the check but not a deal breaker. The restaurant offers very private areas so that was nice to sit with my husband alone in a booth. We'll definitely be back. read more

Stopped in for a solo dinner while traveling. Decent wine list and overall menu. I tried the rose by the glass, which was dry and delicious. I had half a dozen oysters, steak tartare, and a side of Brussel sprouts for my meal. It was a perfect balance of what I was looking for. The oysters were flavorful, accompanied by appropriate garnishes and were worth every penny. The steak tartare was a but spicy for most palates, but I personally enjoyed. The brussels were done how I generally like - seared on one side and softened with appropriate seasoning. It had bacon and onions to add to flavor which I liked. Overall major disappointment. Had only been for drinks prior to booking a birthday dinner for 5. The food is super underwhelming (do not get a steak here) and for the price points you can see and taste it's all lower quality vs what you should be receiving. Haven't been here in years but glad I came back!!! Let's start with the sous vide pork chop!!! Covered in an oniony bacon marmalade it was simply Devine. Served with cheese grits which acccompanied it so nicely. The creme brûlée trio was good minus the chocolate creme brûlée which was a bit dry. Very nice atmosphere. It took more than 50 minutes from the order to get our food, it was not crowded. The brussel sprouts were not cooked with enough oil or heat and were close to raw. There were two choices for champagne - 6 ounces or a bottle. The menu described the champagne I ordred as a bottle and under the 6 ounce option as "n/a" but listed a price under the bottle. However, the waiter then brought me a six ounce glass and no bottle. When I showed him the difference on the menu, he became very defensive and said that this champagne came in very small bottles and that I should have understood this by the price. So, basically, it is my fault for not understanding that I would be getting a six ounce drink even when the menu specifically said "n/a" under the six ounce option. When the food finally came, it was completely cold and did not taste good. My wife's food was (ironically) over-cooked. Also, there were no vegetarian options. I don't like giving negative reviews, but, the service and product were so poor at this place, I felt the need to warn others. My wife and I paid about $125 for nice atmosphere, but really bad food with no vegetarian options and to be indirectly told that we are not intelligent enough to understand the menu. read more

Flew in from Los Angeles for a meeting... came with my husband as it was our 21st Anniversary. Wanted an intimate restaurant with upscale food and warm inviting environment- intimate bar - great music - great service/local hospitality... check all of the above for Theo's! Great experience! Food perfect temp and perfect seasoning - perfectly cooked. Not all show and I am a real foodie that is hard to please. They even gave us an apple cobbler dessert to go to honor our anniversary. We had no room to enjoy it right then but they insisted - a little treat for later. I love when an upscale restaurant knows how to remain down to earth. The service was good. I don't remember his name but bravo. If you look at the drink menu I highly suggest you don't go with the drinks that have stars on them. My fiancé loved her ribeye, but I didn't really enjoy my lamb chops. The starters were actually better than my main dish. I would come here again if I Ruth's Chris wasn't available or loma wasn't either. Cool vibes though! Don't get started on the seating they put us next to a bunch of people that were an arms length apart from us. Made us feel uncomfortable due to the fact that the strangers next to us were so close. Great for a celebration or date night. Atmosphere is relaxing. Loved the bruschetta appetizer with shrimp. The Filet minion was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Also loved the chocolate molten for dinner and the Dutch was dessert in a drink! The staff were all very friendly from the hostess to those that checked in on us throughout the meal. Food is great here but it seems like no matter when we come the dinner takes 2+ hours. The service is a little slow and so is the kitchen. It's frustrating when you are tired and after a long day of meetings. They do take reservations which is a plus. There is a patio for drinks and cigars as well. read more

Don't get the duck. It is a kids size portion. Won't fill a grown adult up at all. Calamari is fantastic as well as the pork belly. But the duck is portion for a small kid that doesn't eat alot. Duck was the most disappointing meal had in years. read more

The food is really good, expensive but great dining experience. Loved the seasonal mushrooms, fingerling potatoes and the Brussels were good too. The bread before dinner was awesome. I finally made it to Theo's last week and it met all of my expectations. The dining experience is one of luxury. The quality of service is great and timely. I had the fish with the most amazingly cooked artichokes I have ever had. My husband got the pork chop. This dish is much larger than other as far as serving size goes (for those of us that like to eat a lot of food)! We finished with the dessert trip and decaf. I can't remember what brand of coffee they use but I could have drank the entire pot it was so good! read more

The happy hour is outstanding! Good prices on food and drinks. I heard they are re-doing their whole drink menu, so no telling what new things they are coming up with. But I really enjoyed the patio--can get quite crowded indoors and the whole interior is dimly lit, so not the best place for casual conversation. I much prefer the heated patio :) read more

I came here last Friday for my birthday dinner. It was a great time and I would definitely come back. We made a reservation for 5:45pm - early, but we also have a 2 year old haha. It was not too crowded when we got there, but it got more crowded as the night went on. There was definitely a good crowd in the bar/lounge area the whole time. Definitely seems like a great place to come hang out at the bar/lounge. The ambiance is very... mmm chic I would say. It is very, very nice. I liked it a lot. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great customer service. The host was friendly. Our waitress was very friendly and gave us great customer service. There was a gentlemen that checked in on us, I'm assuming he was the manager, and he was very friendly. Overall, great customer service. FOOD: They have a happy hour with a great selection for cheap. We ordered two appetizers from the happy hour menu: Cheese Fries Avocado Tacos - Both were very delicious. I especially loved the avocado tacos. -They also bring out bread with a side of olive oil with vinaigrette. For our entrees we ordered: Wild Boars Sausage Ravioli Filet Mignon with baby dutch potatoes and asparagus I had the filet mignon and it was delicious, so were the sides. I tried a bite of the ravioli and it was good too. Since it was my birthday, they served me a delicious dessert! It was the chocolate molten cake - seriously one of the best chocolate molten cakes I've ever had. It was definitely one to share, since it is rich. Overall, I would definitely go back. read more
