It did help to feel comfy, but I think it's to prep for the sales pitch. Salesperson take an imprint of your foot (don't worry you can wear your socks). Also, your feet are sized to determine your shoe size and width. Salesperson then informs you which arch support is better based on the imprint. After returning, salesperson brought a few arches to test. Then did a few "test" to see if it made a difference by relieving foot or lower back pain. Eventually salesperson determined a 3 part (arch and a set of instructions on the "use" time so your foot has time to adjust muscles or realign your posture/back. Along with the 3 pairs of arch supports, a few insole covers, (ergonomic?) socks and a pair of Brooks sneakers, the package ran $1550 (+/- $100) w/ a replacement warranty. Now I know each customer has their own needs, but just sharing this experience. Salesperson, of course, saw the shock. Salesperson suggested applying for a credit line, FSA or HSA. Salesperson did reduce to offering a 2 pair/set for $1000 ish. (each pair of arch support $500ish) Minutes later, New customers came in and salesperson quickly cleaned up and basically wrapped up the consultation. With products in arms/hands, salesperson turned to the walk in customer and greeted them and offered a place to sit. By walking away, Salesperson abruptly concluded the consultation, by walking to the next consultation area to service the walk ins.

Don't go here. Context: Paying close to $300 for sunglasses has always seemed exorbitant but we thought they'd be a really special gift for our teenage runner. Researched using LLM's a bit and they highly recommended going to Oakley's "flagship" store at Valley Fair. I won't be trusting LLM's anymore. Pretty severely disappointing experience, some points that Oakley may find hard to change but others that they should find more easily improvable. -- The store is SMALL. Non-anchor stores aside, you have the large Uniqlo stores, the largish Old Navy stores, the smaller Foot Locker size store -- this is the smallest of them all, like half the size of Foot Locker. Granted, Oakley can't really change this (but I find it weird that THIS is vaunted as their flagship store -- maybe Oakleys doesn't care about brick and mortar presence anymore - frankly, I'd shut this store down because it's negative brand presence). - The store is sad. You walk in, the merch is there but it's not celebrated. These are supposed to be amazing optics, targeted towards a very clear segment. And the vibe is just not there. At all. Couple that with two pretty large, ugly floor air-con units blowing through flexible ducting, and you get a pretty sad start to the experience. - No greeting when you walk in. No one walking up and asking you if you need help. We walked around a bit and finally had to go up and ask for help. Man and a woman -- the woman didn't even look up. I gave the context, birthday gift, first time in an Oakley store. No smile, no "Oh wow, let me tell you about Oakleys." To his credit, he came out from behind the counter and gave us a few pieces of advice but then retreated behind the counter. No excitement, no engagement with my teenager. - It wasn't just us. Several other shoppers came in the store and they didn't seriously engage with any of the shoppers. Just sat behind the counter, taping boxes shut with loud packing tape. - We had questions. They had one (short) sentence answers. These are $250+ glasses -- we weren't looking at sub-$100 entry range. The frames are technical, the lenses for specific uses. There's a TON to sell here, and opportunities for upsell, ESPECIALLY to gift buyers or parents or n00bs to Oakley are easy money (and a great experience). Oakley failed at all of these at this location. Someone please tell me where if we were to ever consider Oakleys again is a good place to shop for them. Few days ago when I originally stopped by to buy an attachment head, Elannah was nice enough to tell me that they can waive shipping fees for any orders placed from their online store if they didn't already have it in stock. I figured I'd ask again about the charger, and although she originally told me the same that neither they nor the online store had it in stock, after hearing how I had been searching for almost a year, she went to the back and found me a spare working Gen5 charger that she didn't charge me for. Now that's really going above and beyond for customer service, thank you Elannah!
