Hidden gem in Mountain View! I came here because a friend told me about it and took me here after eating breakfast down the street. It's kind of random! As if a boutique and an toy shop had a kid, that's what Therapy would be. Saw a lot of things that caught my eye, like all the Obey stuff, from jewelry to apparel. The ugly dolls were cool too. They also carry Betsey Johnson which I thought was crazy because a lot of places that do carry only Betseyville and not the up scale purses like Therapy did. A great place to go to buy gifts for people. There was only one girl working the afternoon we went but she was really friendly and attentive to all our needs of seeing jewelry from the case. It's very spacious inside so you don't get all cramped up although the layout could have been more organized but still, I like the randomness and boutique esque feel. Overall, it was a cool experience walking around and checking things out. I felt like I could spend 3 hours easily just browsing haha. read more

I come here all the time and I love their selection of items - I find something every time I come in! They are constantly rotating inventory, so I know there will be something new to look at whenever I shop here. The staff is all extremely friendly to customers and goes above and beyond to help me find what I'm looking for and make sure I have the most pleasant experience possible. This is the standard I have held therapy to for quite a while now, so it was shocking to say the least when I witnessed management berating an employee for aiding her coworker when the place was busy. There is often a bit of a wait when it comes to checking out if there is any kind of line, so when somebody wanted each of their items individually wrapped in tissue, another girl (short with curly blonde hair) helped her coworker Ky (tall with curly black hair) by doing that for her so she could check out the rest of us who were in line. There were at least five or six of us. The manager (short with long dark blue hair) comes out from the back room and starts berating the other girl in a highly unprofessional and public way about how she isn't supposed to be behind the counter with Ky and that "we don't do that here" when she tried defending herself saying she was trying to help things move along. It completely ruined the shopping experience! Ky who is normally very bubbly and a joy to be around went stoic, and I felt embarrassed for the other girl. Therapy is one of my favorite stores in Mountain View, but they need a serious change to their management style. This store is so cute. Love stopping by here after a meal/drink to see what's new. Their selection of greeting cards are hip and there's an awesome selection of local goodies--almost like hipster souvenirs with "Bay Area" printed on them, but not in a lame touristy way, but in a cool hip way :) The baby section is also awesome for parents and those looking for gifts. The selection of swaddles includes those with bright contemporary designs. There's "something for everyone" in this store. read more

Dear Therapy, I need you on a regular basis or I go crazy. It's almost as bad as my increasingly dangerous Yelp addiction. Wait, isn't therapy supposed to HELP with addictions? You enable me to 'check in' every time I visit you, and I find my shopaholicness approaching a new level whenever I'm around you. Luckily I have enough self-control to mostly 'look but not touch'. I elevated my perpetual window-shopper status last week and actually went in to a store. This store. And it was pretty great. This coming from a person who has come to detest shopping. I actually came here because a few months ago I walked by and saw a book in the window that would be perfect for some friends of mine who were having a baby but it was after hours and I couldn't go in to check out the wares. Fast-forward to present day when I was in the neighborhood for a meeting and remembered that this looked like a great place to buy a gift for any man, woman, child, or man/men and/or woman/women expecting a child. The shop girls were so nice and even went so far as at strike up a very complimentary and appreciated conversation with me about general hair-type topics. As mentioned, you can find something fun here for everyone. It's kind of like a better curated version of Urban Outfitters' home stuffs and accessories, but also a little cheaper here, which I'll take any day. They no longer had the book I was looking for (which is reasonable since I think it was close to 6-months ago that I saw it), but they did have a ton of other universal baby gift items for new, hip parents of babies, of which I know A LOT so I suspect I'll be back fairly often. read more

With a name like this, you'd think they were competing with the Scientology Center across the street. We've seen this store for several months and I've never walked in. The other day during a walk, the window caught my eye and I decided to take a peek. Vintage clothes and other nifty gift items - off beat greeting cards, frames, and posters. Prices are definitely not basement cheap, but not too pricey either, given the quality and flair. I guess if you want to be a groovy hippie or disco dancefloor mama, then this is the place to go- bags, hats, platform shoes, etc. You'll find Paul Frank wallets and watches behind glass cases too. An adorable and approachable eclectic boutique reminiscent of Maison D'Etre in Rockridge. In fact, they carry many of the same items, but Therapy has a hip vibe versus Maison D'Etre, which has a sophisticated charm. I loved their selection of unique, hand-made jewelry from local artisans, along with a plethora of knick-knacks, and a great selection of stylish men's and women's clothing -- regular and sale price. My conversation with the salesgirl about living in Rockridge versus Mountain View seemed to be a walk down nostalgia lane for her. She was one of three salesgirls (all of whom were pleasant, welcoming, and helpful). The name of this store is very cute and quite accurate as nothing is better than retail therapy when you're down! This place has a lot of cute stuff from stuff for the house like mini red mushroom candles to soap wrapped in a tye dyed cloth that acts as a loofah to sex bingo. Also, there are lots of funny magnets, notepads such as ones for comebacks, pick up notes, checks for your coworkers such as "I'll take the blame for whatever you did" which made me laugh. They also have perfumes, costume jewelery, women's clothing, hats, purses, wallets, scarves, and clothing for men too. There is also lots of stuff for the house and unique items such as ice cubes shaped like pills called "chill pills". Right by it is some hand sanitizer with says funny stuff on it such as "You probably just touched your genitals". Dina really loved this store and bought herself a ton of stuff that day. They have other locations in SF, Los Altos, and my home town, Campbell, yay! Most of the items in this store aren't cheap, but if you're looking for something unique for yourself, a friend, or family member, you'll probably be able to find it here. read more

Come to think of it.... I should go back here to shop more.. It's been awhile.. Therapy actually lives up to its name... It does give you a soothing therapy during your times of stress... but yet again, you'll stress again after having spent so much money on th ADORABLE clothes that they have there... This is ten times better than urban outfitters, where I usually hardly buy anything. Workers here are friendly and are alot of help! Prices are reasonable but their items are unique, which is what i love. So far.... A leather jacket....and 4 tops have been purchased here... Therapy got the most unique, fun, and hilarious stuff that you don't need. I brought my German visitor friend here and we had a good laugh browsing through all the super fun things. No, you don't really need any of the things they sell but their collection is just awesome. Love this pace for gift giving. It has all of those really cool and funny knickknacks like the kind you see on Pinterest or Facebook. (but you really shouldn't ever click on those links to buy them) I've picked up pretty organic cotton baby onesies, trendy jewelry, Selena prayer candles, joke fridge magnets and much more random pieces over the past few years. They always stock up on unique things and they change inventory regularly. So if you see anything you like, just go ahead a grab it and don't look at the price. read more

Ok, I Looooooove this place. Everything is so cute! Its the perfect place to find cool knick knacks or a cool and quirky gift for a friend. They have an awesome selection of shoes and purses. So why only 3 stars? Well for one... its kind of pricey.... i understand some of it is brand name (like i expect to pay $100 for sam edleman shoes) but like $80 for a shirt dress? hmmmm. and to boot, the t shirt dress doesnt fit my fat ass. The sizing makes anyone bigger than an 8 feel like kirstey alley trying on a wetsuit. I hate it when places don't carry XL's because its not chic. like help a sister out who has a rack.... my boobs won't fit into anything there.... and god forbit i eat before i shop there because nothing except the socks will fit. I come here every now and then, and when I do, I stay for at least an hour. Because everything is so cute in here, it takes me a while to browse. From my experiences, most of the clothing is really affordable. There are definitely some pieces that are priced higher, though. Can I hug a store? I want to hug this one. And say thank you, for not letting me give up hope on maintaining on trend style in the South Bay. Sometimes I feel like I've been sucked into a alternate universe down here, where Rockabilly and Ska are still relevant. For fear of sounding like I have a supreme case of snobbery, I'll stop there. I found Therapy one day while perusing the Campbell Farmer's Market. I stumbled in and literally said upon walking inside: WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN, STORE. WHERE. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU. I scoured the sale rack, justifying if it's on sale, then maybe I'd buy it. Maybe. Scouring the amazing sale rack turns into diving into the full price world, and that turned into 3 hours talking with the sales girls and letting them dress me up like a doll. I gave them one phrase ("high waisted pant or skirt") for inspiration and let them run wild through the store. After I dropped a bomb of cashola on Therapy, I did feel a little guilty. But that won't ever stop me from coming back. Their buyers are incredible and their eye for fit, cut and local designer pieces is out of control. Their jewelry and accessories are on point. And it's friendly and totally approachable, too, for a boutique. Overall A+. Exceeds Expectations. read more

Love, love, love Therapy! The Mountain View location is the only store that I've been too (need to check out the newly opened Los Altos store and the SF store in the Mission). I've been going to the MV location ever since they opened a few years ago and I ALWAYS walk out buying something. It's definitely similar to Urban Outfitters, but I think more reasonable prices. Prices are more expensive than Forever 21 or H&M but are cheaper than J. Crew or Anthropologie. They have the "random" section full of all sorts of things, such as cards, pillows, books, coffee cups, and so much more. They also have clothes, shoes, purses, hats, and jewelry for women too. There's also clothing for men available. Today, Lauren (she normally works in the Campbell store) helped me pick out summer clothes for my upcoming NYC trip. I explained that I wanted cotton, bright-colored dresses and tops. She help me scour the store and even went into the back to check the new shipment. I must have tried on almost 30 articles of clothing and I appreciated Lauren's keen eye and patience. I also appreciate the extra mile by going in the back to check the new shipment because I ended up buying a dress from the new collection. I walked out of the store with 2 dresses, 2 hats, 2 rings, and a pack of Thank You cards for about $220. Considering that I've seen sundresses at Anthropologie for $275, I thought that this was a steal. I was really happy with my purchases and the customer service. So when Therapy asked if I would write a Yelp review, I gladly agreed! Looking forward to checking out the Los Altos branch. Oh and they even put a hold on a top for me in the SF location. I'd walked past this store several times but never popped my head in. After deciding that I hate absolutely everything I own, I looked on Yelp to find guidance on where to shop and Therapy had rave reviews. Walking into the clothing section I was immediately greeted by Nika, a bubbly sales girl who was more than happy to help. After picking out a few dozen pieces, I stepped into the fitting room to find that Nika had pulled additional accessories and items for me to try on as well. This woman was amazing, she was able to pair things beautifully and get me excited about each look. (This also meant I was tempted to buy much more than I had expected, but isn't that the fun of shopping?) As someone mentioned before, it has outfits similar to Anthropologie, but at much more affordable prices. I left the store with a gorgeous new dress, cardigan, and belt. I couldn't be happier, I've worn all of them several times and always get compliments. I will definitely be returning (probably each week) to find more great outfits. Heck, I may need to hire Nika as my own personal shopper. Hopefully my wallet can handle this... read more

I love this store - its my shopping outlet when I need to get away from the office for a bit. Unfortunately its rare that I ever buy clothes from them because I'm poor and things there are a bit expensive. (I haven't bought new clothes in so long!) I like it because it has everything I would possibly want without having to shop around - its all right there! I've been here two times after a meal/happy hour in Castro. It's perfect because it caters to the few hipsters that are in the South Bay area. I'll be honest, my stature and body type is difficult to shop for but with the good taste of some refreshingly honest friends and staff, I am able to walk away from the store always satisfied with my purchases. I do wish the sales rack had more selection in sizes but that's how it just goes. The variety in styles fits to various body types. They offer a unique selection of trendy items besides clothing like books, trinkets, jewelry for women and men. This is a special shout out to Qieu who was so genuine and sincere in her help when I tried on different clothing items. She worked with me, offering great fashion tips explaining why she thought something looked good and she knew the inventory well in order to match all the pieces for a stylish overall look. The rest of the staff were always friendly and ready with smiles and opinions. The staff is what particularly makes me enjoy coming here every time. read more

How many times can I dish out the love for this store? Apparently, TONS! I was in downtown Mountain View on a Saturday looking to get a haircut, but I got a dress instead! I walked into Therapy looking for a dress that might suit my ever-expanding pregnant belly, and was greeted politely and sweetly by a sales associate. As I perused the racks, she noted that I was holding an item of clothing and started a fitting room for me. I gathered up a few more items, and even though she was busy at the register, as soon as she was done, she opened up the room for me and offered to get any other sizes that I needed. I found some CUTE CUTE CUTE dresses that didn't scream BORING MATERNITY -- but one did not come in my size, so Nika offered to call the other stores to find it for me. She took down my name and number and then made sure to call me when she actually found a surprise shipment of it had come in that day! Amazing. She called me barely an hour later to let me know ... now that's customer service! Therapy was on my list of top favorite stores, but even more so now. I loved the dress so much, I wore it to a wedding recently and got many compliments on it, and how it wasn't a traditional maternity dress. Ahhh thank goodness! Thanks, Therapy! read more

I am MADLY in love with this store and the friendly, fashionable staff that work there. I have been shopping for all my date night outfits at Therapy for the past two years and each Therapy "session" has been an absolute success! I simply tell the sales associate what I'm looking for and my size and they put together a stunning outfit complete with accessories. I recently visited their Mountain View location and Kristi was a fashion angel! For two hours she combed through the store and put together my new work look (I got a new job and wanted a style crossed between Taylor Swift and Blake Lively on a casual Sunday...yes, I was that specific). I ended up buying 80% of the outfits she put together. While I did spend an absurd amount of money there (each "piece" averaged about $50 with sales tax), for the high-end quality,* look,* and uniqueness* of the style it was more than worth it. Kristi curated my entire look (and based on the amount I bought, half my closet) and had a keen eye one what would work for my body type. She pulled out items I would never give a second thought to, but she understood the brand/cut/material/pattern and shaping of the items and despite my doubts that item would end up looking amazing on me. It was like having a personal stylist with zero pressure to buy anything. It was the most relaxing and fun shopping experience of my life. Unfortunately, I no longer trust my own sense of style and have become completely dependent on Kristi to dress me. :-) read more

what's not to like about this place, especially if you're a female who loves to shop? this is the store to come to buy a gift for pretty much anybody, including yourself! i love how they change the setup very frequently. i could come in here several times a week, and each time, the setup would be different and they'd have new product in the store. the assortment of cards is just wonderful, something for everyone. a little dirty humour, some sweet nothings, eco-friendly cards, and san francisco-themed cards. i love their selection of clothing, shoes, and accessories as well. i've seen dresses on sale for as little as $40, which is awesome for something hip and trendy that you can wear for a night on the town. compared to other therapy storefronts in the bay area, i feel that this is one of the bigger ones, as it feels very spacious, even when there are many customers inside. great store, great products, great staff. oh, did i mention they are open late? great place to shop after dinner! read more

My credit card info was stolen!! I just bought a skirt from there just a few days ago and I already have fraudulent charges on my card. Attentive staff, cute merchandise that makes great gifts, Tulle brand clothing, sale section, going out clothes, and they will ship clothing around their different stores to you for free. This store is exactly what Mountain View needed! Business owners take note. It isn't that we don't love the MANY delicious restaurants on Castro St. It is that they dominate all the business on the street. This store is a perfect example of the type of retail that us MV residents want. (Well, at least, it is what this resident wants.) I have been a fan of Therapy for awhile now and am happy to see it popping up all over the Bay Area. What works here is their ability to have something for everyone without sacrificing the consistency of the shop's style. With its range in products it is a fabulous place to shop for gifts. The furniture is all so much fun... I wish they had even more of it. Lets say another store full of it! Oh and the clothes, I have certainly had, lets say, success... Thinking about it now. I go in to browse and leave Therapy angry and empty-handed more often than I'm willing to admit. The clothes are just too cute for words, and yet they are all in ridiculous, ill-fitting juniors' sizes! It's no use asking for a bigger size in that cute blouse, ladies, because A) it doesn't exist, and B) it won't fit anyway. Still, they keep me coming back with their cute shoes, hats, (overpriced) bags, jackets, and redonkulous selection of books and silly things. They super-tiny staff are more interested in shopping for themselves there than helping customers. They're all adorable, but don't listen to the drivel that comes out of their mouths--I've never heard a dumber set of store clerks in one place! Oh, Therapy, if only you carried real-people sizes and weren't so painfully fashionable... Absolutely LOVE this store because of the cool stuff they have, from clothes to home decor..... BUT..... I do have one interesting story to tell about Therapy. So, a few a months back I bought this dress at Therapy thinking I got this unique dress, right. Well, I WAS WRONG... A few weeks later, I found the EXACT SAME DRESS at Forever 21 for $25 cheaper!! Even down to the belt!! The only thing different about the two was the tag! When I saw my dress at F21, I was really bummed... Bummed cuz I spent HELLA more money at Therapy AND the dress ended up not even being unique!!! Oh well, I know NOW to save my receipt in case I find the dress elsewhere... I love love LOVE it here!! This is one of my favorite stores. From the clothes, to the furniture, to the books, to the jewelry, they have the cutest stuff! The store is always clean, organized, and has an array of different styles of clothes to choose from. I like that they color-coordinate the racks of clothing--it makes it easier to figure out what I want and then find what I'm looking for. The staff is ALWAYS friendly! Stephanie B. helped me yesterday, and she picked some cute things for me! The store Manager is also nice! She also helped me pick out some clothes/shoes. Easy to make a quick stop as there's a parking lot in the back, this is the perfect quick stop for gifts that will make your friends believe in your knack for finding the most creative gifts. OK so here's the virtual mini-tour. As soon as you walk in, dirty & funny goods will be on your right, Anthropologie-like household goods on your left, jewelry & hats in the middle, men's clothing on middle right, and women's clothing in the middle and back. Great wall of jeans on the left, and don't forget the witty earrings on the left hand wall just past the checkout counter. I've never heard of Therapy until my friend from Mountain View told me about it, and we decided to take a look before closing. Honestly, I wasn't looking to buy anything for tonight, but everything in here was so cute and very boho! It's definitely like another Urban Outfitters to me, but more on the pricier side. They carry a lot of popular brands, one including Free People. All of the clothes on the rack were super cute that I couldn't resist trying them on, and I ended up buying the two tops that I tried on because I knew I would regret it if I left empty-handed.
