We set the date, chose the materials, the carpenters arrived, the work was beautifully done. My husband LOVES his garage so much that it is beyond his dreams. EVERYTHING is in its place and easily accessible. No more piling rakes, shovels and patio umbrellas all over. Gino and another colleague came on November 19 and did the job in about 30 min. I was a bit surprised they were done so quick, but they explained it was so expensive because of the height of the roof. I have been waiting for my invoice including the warranty now for almost 1 1/2 months. Despite several emails back and forth I haven't yet received it. I cannot say much about the quality of the work but the difficulties in getting the invoice give rise to doubt about the professionalism. As homeowners we don't know how to deal with them and they take advantage of us. I worked with Sterling exteriors. The rep came out circled the hail damage and came out and walked through the damage with the inspector. He acted as my advocate and I ended up getting new siding and gutters. They just finished the work this week and it looks great. With no out of pocket cost and the rep actually added trim and a few other items on their own. The rep you deal with makes a difference. I worked with Mike O'Brien at 847-703-0299. He was great. Mike kept me updated the whole way through the process. My experience with Mike was exceptional.

I had Sterling Exteriors out to quote on some soffit work that I needed done. They came in…read moremid-September but told me to wait until the end of October to book anything because it would be less expensive. So I waited until the end of October and called. I was told that they were already closing down for the winter but that they had a guy that they worked with who would honor their quotes and do the work. They came back, did a quote, and took pictures to share with their guy. A few days later their referral came out and measured everything. Sterling Exteriors then confirmed what day their guy was going to be coming out. I arranged the financing on my own and had them back out to sign the paperwork and give the the deposit check. When I was giving the deposit check I was told that at that very moment, their guy was out buying the supplies. We were all ready to do. 10 minutes later Sterling Exteriors called back and said that there guy wasn't going to be able to do it because of "a number of issues, but mainly manpower". So they had provided pictures to their guy, confirmed the start date, were in the process of purchasing the required materials, and had a signed work order and deposit. And all of a sudden the guy who was all ready to go couldn't do it. So I said that Sterling needed to do it themselves, but was told no, they were closed for the year and that there was nothing that could be done. It's plainly obvious that Sterling Exteriors under quoted the work and that neither their referral nor Sterling Exteriors themselves would honor the pricing I was given, and that I was being given the run around as to the reason why. When I confronted Sterling Exteriors about this they stopped replying altogether. Very shady business that won't honor their own pricing even after the contract was signed.

We thought we were paying $3327.00 for gutters and gutter guards, they invoiced us for a total of $6197.00!! That total was NEVER discussed or mentioned. Very misleading cost proposal, please be very aware and watch for ambiguous or misleading pricing so you don't get blindsided with a huge cost AFTER the job is done. We were especially caught of guard since just last summer 6/26 they replaced the gutters and installed gutter guards at our old (slightly smaller) house for a total of $2555.00.

I had an awful experience with IBI. The entire project was mismanaged (3 different project managers…read morein a 6 month period) with poor communication, poor workmanship, and an owner (Tony) who would rather battle his clients than right any wrongdoing by his company. We had them do three different areas of tilework; kitchen backsplash, powder room floor, and a 225 sq ft sunroom. All three areas had to be redone as the workmanship was such a poor quality. I had to hire a separate company to fix the powder room floor after IBI botched the job twice (see white mosaic tile picture). The kitchen backsplash tile spacing was extremely uneven (the installer used torn pieces of construction paper for spacers) and had to be ripped out and reinstalled. The tile spacing in the sun room (10" dark gray hexagon tiles) was off by as much as .5" in places and tiles had to be removed and reinstalled. The grout color was mixed incorrectly and way lighter than it was supposed to be. On top of all that, the charged us more than double industry standard for the work. We eventually had to take them to arbitration to receive credits that were owed. Almost all of the work was subcontracted. The only work that IBI actually did was install new cabinets. The kitchen was gutted and their "designer" created a layout that could not fit a standard sized refrigerator. They did not realize this until everything was done and the fridge didn't fit in the space allotted. We were left with a damaged fridge (dented by IBI in the moving process - another matter that was settled in arbitration) that was sticking out 3 feet into our kitchen for months while we battled to get the issue corrected. They eventually had to rip out the cabinets and modify the design so that we could have a standard sized fridge. Save yourself a major headache and avoid Incredible Builders. Hire someone else who can do the job right the first time. Also, be cautious of the positive reviews that are sure to follow this one. Tony has been known to hassle customers who had an ok experience and pressure them to write positive reviews to save face for the company. If you want to get a true glimpse of who you'd be dealing with, check out the complaint section on the Better Business Bureau. Slam dunk?
