Paragon Insulation has done an excellent job for me twice this year. The first time in January, I…read morehad Randy come out to quote attic sealing and insulation. While he was there to provide the quote, he noticed the kitchen floor was really cold (he took off his shoes when he entered the house). He pulled out his thermal camera and we saw the floor was 30-40F! I had noticed that area of the kitchen was cold in winter, but didn't realize it was coming from the floor, where kitchen is cantilevered out past the foundation wall. He proposed insulating the cantilevered area with spray foam, and then said he could insulate all the rim joists in the basement for the same price. A week or so later, while he was onsite doing the insulating, I mentioned I was going to finish the basement later in the year, and expected to use 3 inch foam panels. He suggested using spray foam instead since that would give me a few inches more space in the room. He gave me a price and I said I'd think about it. As I thought about it, I realized getting a few more inches in the room, and also getting a better sealing product would be worth it, and would save me many hours of labor and a lot of material costs. In summer, I started work on the basement project, and once I had the framing up and electrical roughed in, I called (now July) to schedule the spray foam. Randy honored the price from January, scheduled the job quickly, and it looks great! Something I especially appreciate about Randy and Paragon is that the guy who quotes the job actually does the job; it's not some sales guy, it's the owner who quotes AND does the work! Because of that, any questions get answered and you know exactly who is accountable for quality and completion. I did get other quotes for the attic, and Paragon was very competitive. I really appreciated Randy's suggestions, and they did not feel like a sales pitch; it felt like I was getting good options to consider that would solve a problem I had.

Nobody enjoys pouring money into the parts of their home they never see -- attics, crawl spaces,…read moreand the like. But when those areas need attention, it's essential that the work is done right and by someone you can trust. Randy and the team at Paragon Insulation & Services delivered an experience I'd recommend to anyone. My attic was poorly ventilated -- damp, musty, and overdue for attention. After deciding to bring in a professional, Randy came out to my home, thoroughly assessed the problem areas, and put together a detailed quote on the spot. The scope of work included removal of the existing insulation, air sealing around all attic entry points, sanitizing, air baffle installation, and installation of new Weather Blanket cellulose insulation. The new cellulose achieves an R-value that meets or exceeds Illinois code requirements. Paragon's pricing was competitive, though admittedly a bit higher than some of the larger corporate outfits. What made the difference was Randy's willingness to walk me through the entire plan and clearly explain what justified the investment. That transparency, combined with the comfort of working with a local, owner-operated business, made the decision easy. The crew came in and completed the job in about half a day -- fast, efficient, and clean. The entire process was documented with photos and videos, all of which were included with the final invoice. While up in the attic, they even took the time to correct some substandard work a prior contractor had left behind on my bathroom exhaust fans. I couldn't be happier with the results. I've already noticed a meaningful improvement in temperature consistency and overall comfort throughout my home. If you're looking for a trustworthy, professional insulation contractor, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Paragon Insulation & Services.

I told the rep that other companies have inspected our home and stated that our walls are suitable for blown in insulation. ARC never came to visit our home - while their competitors did this as a standard account management cycle. Fast forward to this week, I was ready to sign the agreement and pay the deposit - the rep asked me to confirm the 2x4 framing. I asked him how he wanted me to do this - he suggested I drill pilot holes in each wall or pay a 3rd party to do this and that ARC was not responsible for verifying the details of our home. Not responsible for validating a critical project detail before having you customer pay thousands of dollars?! Extremely poor customer service and frankly, a lazy sales team. I am sure the crews doing the work are great, but the accounts team could use a refresh. I will work with a competitor unless ARC has employees willing to visit their prospective customers!

I reached back out to them to redo the same work because some construction work damaged the insulation they installed. This experience was completely different even though I was working with the same contact (Bill). There was nothing but broken promises from the moment I reached them. Started with call backs, continued with onsite estimate meeting and continued with the failure to ever deliver the estimate. There must have been 5 or 6 times that Bill said he would call, or show up, or provide the estimate and each time it never happened. Ultimately, he just ghosted me and stopped responding. Not only was it a headache, it actually cost me money out-of-pocket to rush delivery from another contractor to finish the job by my needed date - which Bill repeatedly claimed he would meet. Literally tried my best to give them business with repeatedly reaching out...whole experience was miserable.

Aeroseal cleaned and sealed my ductwork, for two furnaces including both the supply and return…read moreductwork. We paid about $2,200 per furnace, we have two furnaces. I could not be happier with the results this service delivers and would recommend this to anyone who plans on staying in their house three or more years since the energy savings will pay for itself in more efficient heating and cooling in both the winter and summer. We hired Aeroseal for several reasons: - we had poor air flow to multiple rooms in our house causing cold rooms in the winter and hot rooms in the summer * - we had poor airflow from our return ductwork which uses a "pan" method that uses our wall cavities rather than sheet metal ducts to deliver the return air to our furnace. Several rooms had no return airflow at all due to the massive amounts of leakage throughout the length of the return ductwork * - dust buildup throughout the house caused by our return airflow puling dust, dirt, insulation, etc. back into our heating and cooling system * - some walls were hot to the touch where ductwork was located directly above the furnace The very professional Aeroseal team finished yesterday at 4pm and already we are enjoying much stronger heat flow into the rooms that used to be cold with very little heat. The wall located directly above our furnace that was previously hot from leaking air has been completely fixed, it now feels like every other interior wall - this is amazing to me. Also, since it is winter time right now our utility room that houses the furnace was 15-20 degrees warmer than the finished portion of our basement due to the massive amount of leakage ... after Aeroseal completed their work the utility room is now cool and I would estimate to be about 10 degrees cooler than our finished basement. Another thing that impressed me, was that that because they use highly accurate measuring equipment for airflow and temperature readings on every supply and return vent, they uncovered something none of the four heating/cooling companies we used over the past 6 years had found - we have four supply vents that are crossed over and being fed by the wrong furnace. We have two furnaces, one for the first floor and basement, and the other for the second floor. So the cold room on our second floor was somehow linked to our first floor furnace, not our second floor furnace. This information tells me several things: 1) Aeroseal's measuring equipment is legitimate and highly accurate - that's the only way they could have uncovered this information 2) I now know that I can't lower my first floor temperature at night like I used to since it is feeding two rooms on my second floor - and one of those rooms, my daughter's bedroom, has been our coldest room and a major problem I've been trying to solve for the past 6 years. I would recommend this company to anyone who plans to live in their house longer than 5 years since you can be sure to get the full return on your investment through energy savings, plus you will be more comfortable throughout your house, and finally you'll have less dust buildup now that your return ductwork will no longer be pulling dirt, insulation, pollen, etc. into your furnace which then distributes that dirty air throughout your house.
