I loved their product but had an issue with an order being different from what I expected and also not working properly. I wanted to return but after saying their ad was deceptive and different from my previous model they turned ugly. They sent an email that if I didn't have the original package or if the product had been used then I might receive a partial refund or no refund at all. The true measure of how good a company is how good they treat you when you have a problem and they failed miserably when they got defensive and implied no refund. I kept the poorly performing product since I wasn't insured a refund. Guarantee I won't purchase from them again. If they had handled the return correctly and had a good customer service I would have continued to purchase from them but since the terrible response came from their director of customer satisfaction, what a joke his response was. He definitely does not need to be in that job basically jumping into a return and saying my refund might be partial or denied completely. They lost my business. read more

Have been using Thermoworks gear for over a decade now. My Thermapen Classic died after a decade, and Thermapen walked me through how to fix it over the phone (taking it apart and cleaning some resistors). They said if that wouldn't fix it, they'd get me a 15% off coupon for a new one. This was a DECADE old! My mother in law has been using it for a year now. Bought a Thermapen ONE a year ago, and it threw an error they didn't know about. They sent me a mailing label for free, and it got there in 3 days completely cross-country. In two days of dealing with Thermoworks, I have multiple descriptors for the company - deceitful, fraudulent, non-customer oriented, and more. Call In for Return Policy on ThermoQ WiFi Since this technology takes the company out of precision instruments into IT, I called to ask what the return policy was in the event that my meat thermometer would not stay connected to the internet (the reviews were spotty). I was informed that they had great customer service to resolve issues. But what is the return policy? You won't need to return it. What is the return policy? Finally, if new and unopened and unused, I could return it. What if it fails to work as as promised after opening? We do not take returns. What? Even if I get a product that doesn't work? Nope. More than 10 minutes to get the truth. Online Order of Thermapen Mk IV Used PayPay to order Mk IV and case. Order went through. Confirmation email followed by Shipping notice with tracking number. Then got an email from Thermoworks that my order had not gone through with PayPal. My PayPal account says it did go through. I called Thermoworks to report their problem, not my problem. I was asked for another form of payment. But you already have my money. We are having a problem with PayPal. That is not my problem. PayPal took my money (as well as an Uber fare today). You confirmed my order and gave proof of shipment. Now you want me to double pay? No way! We will look into it. Goodbye. If you want to purchase with no chance of refund for a defective product and if you want to get billed again for something for which you already payed, Thermoworks is the company for you. I bought a Thermoworks Thermapen from a cooking catalog. It's quick and accurate. I loved this pen, so-much-so that I chucked all my old-school thermometers. It was more than a year after it was purchased that I ended up with an error message. Oh and it happened at the absolute worst time... Thanksgiving! So, ya, on Thanksgiving a was thermometerless. Ugh! I contacted the company via email & received a same-day response. I was told to send the pen back to them. Once they received it in the mail they sent me email letting me know they had it & were evaluating it. I received another email letting me know they'd be fixing the pen under warranty. The pen was returned to me pretty promptly. In the box with the pen was a wee package of Jelly Belly's. I thought the customer service was prompt, I thought the communication was stellar, and I absolutely loved the thoughtfulness of the wee package of Jelly Belly's. Just a small gesture but it put a smile on my face and when I told friends they were all surprised and said "Wow, what great Customer Service!" Those little gestures are how you build brand loyalty. read more

I have purchased a variety to products from this company, from temperature/humidity logging systems costing thousands of dollars down to inexpensive rapid-reading thermometers to give to offspring moving into their own homes (and kitchens). I have had excellent customer service in every case, and very good performance from everything I've purchased. My ChefAlarm, for example, has worked flawlessly since I received it. I can't imagine roasting a turkey in a barbecue without the ChefAlarm. I'm going to try it with baking bread next. Any time you purchase a cooking thermometer like the ChefAlarm or a rapid-read thermometer, you can perform a sanity check on it by sticking it in ice water and boiling water. You should see 32° and the boiling point of water at your altitude, respectively. In some cases, you can even use the ice water to calibrate it. read more

I bought a Thermoworks Wand thermometer and find it annoying. It beeps incessantly. It isn't intuitive. Hard to discern what's a current reading from one stored in history. Needless functions clutter this disappointing product and are poorly thought out. Bought a case to go with it, the clasp is located over the on button. One cannot close the clasp without turning on the Thermowand which may be a minor gripe until the battery is dead right when you need a thermometer. read more

I emailed them and they supplied a phone number for me to call to get the original price. I applaud them for this as they very likely could have said that's no longer available. I ordered a chef alarm thermometer after seeing a PBS show saying how great it was. First time I used it my dinner party was ruined as their unit read 90 degrees when it was actually 174 degrees. A $65 prime rib turned to leather! They would not refund my money as they only offer replacements. BBB complaint filed. Avoid buying anything from this company! read more

I bought a thermometer a couple years ago that was ok but didn't quite live up to expectations (seemed to take longer than advertised), though it worked well enough. Unfortunately, it started failing several months ago, and when I left a negative review on their website, they removed it due to my owning the older version of the model and leaving a review on the newer version. Considering that they conveniently leave the model the same and just change the version, this means there will be no reviews older than the current version, so there are a bunch of glowing reviews based on short-term ownership, but no reflection of long-term use. Again, very convenient. Then, they said that based on the description of my problem, it was likely caused by water damage. I found this surprising considering it was marketed, both on the website and packaging, as being waterproof and even dishwasher safe. I told them I had bought it for that very reason, and had exposed it to water, so that quite possibly could have been the cause of the problem. Even though they screwed up and (falsely) advertised it as being waterproof, they made it out like it was my fault and "offered" to provide me a whopping 10% discount on a replacement. When I pointed out the ridiculousness of that, they then "offered" a free replacement, but not because of their mistake, and that it was the right thing to do, but because I had been "so very helpful - and forthright in [my] feedback" as a "thank you for [my] help." Give me a break. I just bought a ~$10 thermometer from another company that works just as well and has a larger, backlit display and a folding probe. I'm done with this company. read more
