Definitely a family operation. The tech that came out was one of the kids. He knew what was wrong with my dryer. Took apart the dryer without the need to move it from it's cubby. Went to get the part and repaired it in no time. I would be great if they carried the universal part on the truck and carried a cordless vacuum for cleanup. I really appreciate that they were really easy to schedule time with and had a sense of urgency since we were dealing with a refrigerator repair. I realize this was lost revenue for Lamar's Appliance Repair, but I appreciate their honesty diagnosing the problem and being truthful that we were better off getting a new fridge instead of repairing it. Replacing the broken piece would have cost nearly as much as a new refrigerator, but that was also money they would not earn from us. I really appreciate that they looked up any possible warranty angle on the compressor as well. Very happy with their service. It took a few days for them to be able to come out, but they told us when they would be there and got there right at the scheduled time. I was very happy with their service. I called them and told them my ice maker broke, and they came out the next day to fix it. At first, they didn't have a replacement ice maker, so the technician said he would order it and have it in a few days. A few hours later, he said he was able to get one from another technician, and he could install it that day. So everything was taken care of in the same day. I really appreciated the extra effort. I found Lamar's in my search for a good appliance repair months ago when my Gas Freestanding Range's oven stopped working. I did some Googling and I found several warranty appliance repair shops that were getting less than favorable reviews. I dug a little bit deeper and I found Lamar's. At that time I lived in West Jordan and now I live in Sandy. They visited and fixed/serviced appliances for me at both locations. With my oven, it was out of warranty so I knew I had to pay for a diagnosis. I did take the time to call Whirlpool and see how much it would be to hire them for the repair. They offered a combo of a repair and a warranty at Whirlpool. I want to say the price was very close to a replacement. This is about Lamar's not about Whirlpool! I called and scheduled an appointment, with the oven two people came out. After diagnosis they let me know that they would need to pick up the part. Between the diagnosis and the part and the repair it all happened on the same day as my appointment. It ended up being an "Igniter," my problem was fixed and the oven worked great again. When you oven gets fixed you have to celebrate with some take n bake pizzas. It was a joyous day when we got this fixed. My second experience with Lamar's was earlier this week in June 2015. Our washing machine was throwing a code and our in-home laundry services were put on hold. I called over to Lamar's I left a message on the voicemail with my information. I received a call back a little bit later and was able to set an appointment. The day of the appointment I received a call from the technician that he was going to be 20 minutes late. He did call before he was late and that was appreciated on my end. When the technician arrived it was just one person this time, I believe his name was Michael. I showed him where the washing machine was and let him do his thing. After a few minutes with the machine we started talking and he explained to me what may be happening and he thoroughly went through the machine to make sure everything was in good repair. He educated me on the washer and explained several tips on how to increase the life of the washer. We recently moved into the home and we had setup the washer/dryer in reverse so the doors were not setup conveniently. Michael switched those around for us and I couldn't be happier. I would recommend Lamar's Appliance Repair as a reliable and reasonable company to do an in-home service call on your malfunctioned appliances. Did I mention I also was happy with the costs? I definitely feel like the cost was fair, keep in mind when this kind of thing goes down I am paying close attention to the repair costs versus the replacement cost. read more

I love using Lamar's because they are close to Eagle Mountain, they are timely, their pricing is very reasonable, and my repair man Daniel is awesome and totally patient with my stupid refridgerator. This is the second time that he has been out this year (no fault of his) because my GE fridge is finicky. They gave me a great warranty and only charge for the visit and the labor. Lousy service, blew my circuits to the entire home twice. Fried my stove and after putting a valve in my refrigerator/freeze failed to turn it back on. Our entire freezer supply of food was spoiled. I have called 14 times and they have refused to return my calls. I will never ever use nor recommend these guys to anyone. Daniel came prepared to actually FIX my gas oven, based on my description of the problem. He had the parts on his truck and all the correct tools with him. He was quick, efficient, knowledgeable, and nice, and he told me the cost up front, which was far less than I was expecting. I know this company Lamar's Appliances brags about how great they are. But do not recommend them. 1. They are not affiliated or members of the BBB. 2. They don't return the voicemails I leave on their phone number. I have left several attempts but no one ever calls me back. I wait for weeks. The belt on my drier is about to break on our dryer that is less than a year and a half old on our whirlpool. You would think a top appliance company in Utah would call their customers when they want their business. Going with someone else. read more

I called Lamar's because they were a local company with good reviews. My dishwasher hasn't been washing the dishes as well as it used to, and is extremely loud. Their service technician came out the next day and diagnosed the problem and gave me an estimate. He was willing to talk through with me repairs vs. getting a new dishwasher, and explained the process of what it would take to fix. I decided to have it fixed and he was back in a few days with the parts. Overall Lamar's was great to work with! The technician was nice and patient and thorough. I called Lamar's because of their reviews and my LG dryer was making a terrible noise and drum didn't want to turn. They came out the next day, called before arrived, were on time, courteous, clean and very professional. Colby diagnosed two back bearings, the other two were worn but in working condition, he did not pressure me into replacing the other two but I decided to replace them (kind of like not replacing just two tires on a vehicle.) Once he left the dryer drum turned perfectly and made no noise but did not dry the clothes, I called them back they offered to send someone out the next day, gave me some troubleshooting options which did not work, I had them come back after Thanksgiving. When he came back he realized he had not plugged the sensor back in so they machine didn't recognize dampness, he was very apologetic and took full responsibility for the mistake. Some would give a terrible review because of the mistake and inconvenience but with all the other positive experiences, him taking responsibility with no bull I am a satisfied customer. I hope to not have to use them in the future :) however, they are who I will contact when I need appliance repairs. I would recommend them to family and friends. read more
