As starters we ordered the bacon wrapped dates and the bruschetta. They allow you to choose four different toppings for each piece of bruschetta which is really nice because all the toppings sound so good. To drink, I had the minimal intervention wine flight, and my husband had the hatch green chili margarita. I enjoyed my flight, especially the Chenin Blanc, but can't lie, I was a little envious when my husband's margarita arrived! The bacon wrapped dates were tasty per usual, but the bruschetta was outstanding! We did not finish the bruschetta because we also had an entree coming, the Pasta New Mexico. It was everything you want pasta to be with a good kick from the hatch chili and red pepper flakes. We left fat and happy! Later that same week we came back on a Friday night, and it was hopping. It looked like there were two major big parties happening which initially concerned us that we might not make it out on time for our event that evening. However, we believe our server got our order to the kitchen before putting in the big one! Yay! And our order was the same as Monday night because we enjoyed it so much. The only thing different was my drink. I got that hatch green chili margarita, and it was super refreshing! Our food came out of the kitchen at a decent time, but we did notice that the bread on the bruschetta lacked the toasted/grilled texture that it had on our first visit. Maybe the kitchen pushed it out too fast or there was a different chef that night. It was still edible but not outstanding like it was the first time. Like most places, it is slower at the beginning of the week and very busy come the weekend which likely affects the quality of what you get. But overall, I think it's a solid place to drink/dine. If I get the chance to visit this city again, I will definitely come back.

Our waitress was alright, but admitedly the table next to ours had a waitress that seemed to go above and beyond for her customers and knowledge of the menu. She could have trained other staff. The biggest reason for the downvote was a restroom experience. I waslked into the restroom and noticed the smell was unpleasant and the ADA stall was clogged. I went to the smaller one, but as I sat, I heard gurggling. The toliets backed up as did the drains very quickly. I managed to get out of there as fast as possible, but still got dirty feces waste all over my shoes. I immedately notified the hostess and my husdband asked for the check. Between the time this happend and we walked out the door, the sewage was seeping out the bathrooms with no signs in place and no seeming rush to correct this issue. The smell was overwhemling and I can only assuem that many others noticed. A sewage issue means the kitchen also cannot wash dishes or sanatize properly. The resturant should have notified custumers and the party, while allowing poeple to take their food home. This unfortante incident caused our night to go arry.

Dog-friendly seating? Off to a good start. We decided to do some wine tastings and share a charcuterie board. There was a different employee in this part of the winery. My husband mentioned that he couldn't have gluten and asked if there was a gluten-free alternative to the bread/crackers. Imagine my surprise when the board arrived with... tortilla chips. For a place that also specializes in gourmet foods, I was expecting something a little more exciting than chips. Gluten-free crackers, anyone? The wines were nice, and we really enjoyed sitting outside. The only other slight downer was the service. When I went inside for another tasting, I casually asked the server, "How's your day going?" His response: "I'm here." Well... I guess technically that answers the question. Clearly, he was having an off day. For dinner, I ordered the red chile fried chicken bites with fries. The fries were perfectly cooked and paired well with the ketchup. My friend shared the appetizer with me and ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad, which she enjoyed alongside one of the wine tasting flights. The real surprise of the evening came after dinner. Our host handed us a card with a password to access the speakeasy downstairs. If you visit Mission Winery, don't skip this part. The speakeasy had a completely different atmosphere from the restaurant above and quickly became the highlight of the night. The space feels intimate, sophisticated, and thoughtfully designed, with dark wood accents, comfortable seating, and a stylish lounge vibe.
